With steel coasters, the track and supports are cut up into smaller pieces and it is taken off to the local junk yard/recycling center. (Like Shockwave was)
I would love to go back in time just to ride it. (ETA on a time machine anyone?) What happened to the remains of Riverview anyway (besides the carousel)
I'd love to go back in time and ride all the SFGAm coasters that were taken out. Especially Shockwave, I wish I got the chance to go on it mroe than 6 times.

Gone. Now there is a Dominicks, a police station, strip mall, and Devry I beleive. As far as the time machine goes, well, the Delorin is just about done, now I just have to find some platonium.
Some people hated that ride
Hard to imagine anybody would hate the Bobs. Just looking at the layout is amazing.
Everything was leveled, with the exception of the carousel. I beleive that the cars from the Fireball went to another park, but to which park I am not sure.
Its a damn shame about Riverview. I drove by the where the park use to be last week, and just thinking that the "worlds greatest amusement park" once occupied the area is kind of erie. To bad it sat on some high price real estate. It could have been the Kennywood of Chicago.

I wish I got to ride it, period.
EDIT: Yay! 100 posts!
i'm rocking the suburbs, just like quiet riot did...
for a long time there was a plaque in front of the ride (actually near the exit), the plaque disappeared around the mid-late 90's)
Also worth noting, only the ride itself came from Riverview, building was custom built for SFGAm, and that is why PGA didnt get one, as Cajun was the only one on the used ride market at the time. (I wouldnt doubt if it's Riverview histroy wasnt the driving force behind Marriott buying it and installing it at our SFGAm)
