Immelmann was not complete today…photo taken at 5 PM.
Here is a photo from Washington Street.
More of a gap from street level…might be two peices of track to complete.

That seems like one huge piece. Would it not be two pieces?

Edit: me and Rob posted at the same time and it seems like we have the same idea

So the crane that was holding the piece when I was there today is not extended in this pic so I wonder if something happened?

I saw it up on the traffic cam as well. They probably had to make a call due to wind or there was an issue with the 2nd crane getting the other piece up.

Since bridging this gap needs two track pieces, they need to be installed simultaneously because they support each other.

Yep. Knew it was two just from looking at it. Way too long for one.

Plus, I did see the one they did lift up on traffic cam, it spans a little over half the distance.

Cranes were up at arpund 4:45 pm, but by the time i got off the tollway, they were down for the evening. Probaly did not have enough time to position and secure it for the evening. There are also no more supports for the Innemann, so they have to make sure they can fully securely attach it completely.

I’m wondering how much time it’ll take to complete the rest of the elements. Not sure if the dive loop can go in yet since the concrete was poured no more than a few weeks ago.

After the Dive loop I think progress will go much faster because that'll be the tallest areas done and the supports seem to be less spread out so there won't be as much complexity.

The piece that was hanging today was the full section. It had the 2 pieces already joined together. So I guess we will see it go up tomorrow then.

Sorry but you're mistaken. I have never seen Skyline ever assemble large B&M sections before lifting them up. Especially not one this wide.

You can see on the traffic cam this morning that they are going exactly the same way I saw yesterday, one at a time to meet in the center.

They’re putting the final Immelmann piece in place right now I believe. How exciting!

It’s not Skyline.

It’s Sky High attractions that’s building the coaster.

Skyline is the garbage attractions company that built that stupid light up kids coaster that doesn’t work.

Ah yes. Thanks for the correction.

I always mix them up.

I should know better since I follow them on FB.

It’s easy to mix up given how close in name they are. I’ve done it too.

Sky High is also a local company based out of Morris, IL. They do excellent work

It blows my mind that those 2 pieces of the Immelmann don't have supports above them along with those last 2 pieces of the top of lift hill.

What's holding them up?

BTW what an awesome job these guys have that get to install this coaster!!

The box of the track itself can be supportive. Steel is strongest under compression, not tension.

So you'll notice any place where the supports are very spread out, it always in places where the track meets at a higher point like the crest of the lift, or the top of the Immelmann. (and soon to be top of dive loop)

Nice. Just saw them post about it. Love the color scheme. The maroon and gold will go well with the blue track.
