Just a heads up if anyone was planning a trip to ride I305:
The first drop is now trimmed for the last 2/3rds of the drop. I flew out here this weekend to try it, and boy was I less than thrilled by that drop. The first few feet were great, but then it just king of drooped down the drop, giving no dropping sensation.
Since I've never been here before, it was still a worthwhile trip. Dominator and Volcano are awesome and if you haven't been here its worth a trip.
But if you are planning a return trip to try this new giga coaster, I'm pretty sure you'd be better off heading to sandusky instead. MF has a better drop, and Mav has better ground elements.
Total shame, it definetly had potential, and from what I read from the last couple weeks it was pretty intense. I only got to try post neutered 305 so I can't compare, but I highly doubt the first weeks riders from before would feel the same way after trying it again now.
Just wanted to pop in here and save other chicago folk from traveling this far for a giga coaster that doesn't hold a candle to MF anymore (which is alot closer to us).
Ah hell, that's horrible! If you can't handle the ride, don't ride it! That's just terrible that they would destroy a coaster. But this also shows how one set of trims can destroy a ride. :/
It has more to do with the fact Intamin/Cedar Fair has no clue what this ride would be like. Daily it is going through multi-thousand dollar wheels and graying people out. Once again, why do parks buy Intamin rides?
I have no idea. I mean, Six Flags finally realized that Intamin isn't a good designer after all the problems with v2. (holding break, supports, random heat issues.)
Ahh, I see. Well atleast he thinks its a smoother ride. I heard complaints of major grey outs and it being more shakey then Kingda Ka so yeah, while it kills part of the ride, it makes the rest more enjoyable.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2. Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel) @Coaster_Cole on Twitter
Have you ever heard of B&M making modifications to it's coasters mid-season? Have you heard of people completely passing out on B&M's or for that matter any other coaster?
Intamin needs to really get it's safety standards up before another coaster is built. I have a feeling this new support system won't last all too long, and they'll start adding supports soon enough.
Again, Why do people still buy from Intamin? Unless it's been tested before, and it wasn't problematic, WHY?
Name me a B&M Coaster that you have gotten bored on? You can't honestly say that B&M makes boring coasters. B&M cares about their customer satisfaction.
He might be confused with the difference between sleeping and being beaten unconscious
I could probably fall asleep on certain B&M coasters though, Raging Bull, Floorless at SFNE, Medusa, Apollos Chariot, it seems like B&M made some pretty intense rides up til 1999 then they turned into almost completely forceless cookie cutters until recently where they are picking it up again with rides like Goliath, Diamondback, etc.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073
Ever since Millenium Force was built I feel that B&M focused more towards reliability and keeping their rides to the highest of standards. However, since the highest/fastest race has kind of cooled down, they've been trying to make some more power punching rides.
But yes, certain B&M's would be extremely easy (and boring) to sit on for a day.

In your opinion their three best and "our" three best steel. I would not put 4 out of 6 side rides listed as best for either park. Also nothing like S:UF or TTD compare to either park.
David wrote. How can you compare Bull and Millennium Force? Or INVERTED coasters to a sitdown launch coaster? I just don't get it.
Bull and Millie are both sitdown, speed, noninverting steel. Both are from the hyper/giga class with different manufacturers. How can you not compare them?...............I think bizzaro badger was just refering to top 3 regardless of type.
