One last video from AstroWorld

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Watching that video was like.....well, its hard to explain. Seeing those people enjoying the coasters, and rides, knowing that they would not be there next year. It is kind of gut wrenching to watch. Its gut wrenching to see an amusement close forever, even though I have never been there. Love the park, or hate it, its tough to stomach.
I cannot even imagine what would be going through my head if that was Great America that was closing.

On a side note: It was cool too see Tidal Wave, and Power Dive (or whatever they were called at AstroWorld) again. It was like seeing old friends.

Hopefully Great America won't close anytime soon..I just do not see that happening..Why did Astrowold close down anyway? Is it just becasue of the money?

Because the PARK SUCKED!

lol j/k sorta

Basically, the land that the park sat/sits on is worth more bulldozed then with the park on it. Commerical developers want to build condos and apartments on that site becuase the land value is so high.

Kinda Like Running Paycheck to Paycheck....Only a little stays with the company each year, the rest goes to Maintanance, Fee's, Property tax and so forth.

Selling Astro World for six flags would be like Winning the Powerball. all that money SAVED each year!

I don't care how much of an inconvienece it was. SFAW in my opinion was the 5th best SF park.

Thats like saying getting a C- is GREAT.

I dont know if you've been to astroworld or not, but When I was there in August, it was terrible. I never wanted to leave an amusement park so badly in my life.

I feel bad for the people who live in Houston that dont have an amusement park to go to but... SFAW was terrible.

I think Great Adventure, Magic Mountain, Great America, Over Texas, and Over Georgia are the top 5 performing parks. Personally, Six Flags should focus on these five and sell/cease operations of the rest of the parks they own/operate.
