I think that the ride is just closed to make room for the construction equipment and so the park is able to start construction on it, I doubt that they are removing it.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
they're not tearing it down! they're closing it, because El Toro is going to be very close to Rolling Thunder, in fact, it's going to be intertwining with the ride.. the two wooden coasters are going to go in and out of eachother's supports.. so they can't have Rolling Thunder up and running during construction.
And that's why the park doesn't listen to you. You dont think about what's best for the park, you think about what's best for yourself. We only had a 28% increase in attendance this year because of Hurricane Harbor. That is an amazing number, yet you still aren't happy because you had 2 hours of longer lines a day, while the park is earning more money. Care about something other than yourself for once.

A strata coaster would cause a 28% increase too. And save your preaching about what other people should care about for someone else.

Actually, a strata coaster would not increase attendance figures by 28 percent. If you can't take my word for it, take the 2003 attendance figure's word for it.

That figure is from 2003, the year that Cedar Point added the world's first strata coaster, Top Thrill Dragster. That's only a 3 percent increase. While 3% is somewhat impressive, it's nowhere near the 28% that SFGAm experienced with Hurricane Harbor.

CP went from a huge attendance to begin with to a larger figure. They were still riding the MF wave (still best steel coaster btw).
Whereas SFGam went from an extremely low attendance to begin with to a record breaking attendance tally. Plus many more coupons, higher capacity, etc.
Comparing those two figures don't really work. Pour 5oz of soda into a 20oz bottle and call it a 25% increase. Pour 5oz into a 2liter, then compare percentages...
