Mt Olympus 06

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Mt. Olympus announced it will build a 43,000-square-foot indoor theme park, slated to open next year. The park will be called the "Parthenon" and a spinning coaster named "Opa" will be included.

I think it's a good idea. I was even considering just going to the indoor waterpark this winter, but now that this will be in NEXT winter I will just wait a year.

I do hope, however, that they also invest in a second train for Hades for next year. Waiting in that slow of a line earlier this year definetly hampered my enjoyment. But then again I went a few weeks ago and there was no need for two trains, it was a walk on all day. Over 20 laps!

You would think with that long of a coaster that a second train would be required. Wow.

I'm pretty sure they can put 2 on. There is a brake run before the station.

Would you also want to sit on a wet smelly seat when you ride?

Merlin brings up a good point. They need a place to store the second train before they buy it. That requires more money to build more track.

Haha, I made a funny. Merlin, wizard, get it? HA HA HA!

Zing!

Anyways, every time I've been to Mt. Olympus it's been very light-crowded, even on a Saturday. I've never waited for more than 10 minutes for a coaster. Of course, that was before the 2005 season, so it could've changed since then. But when I was there, I saw no need for any capacity enhancers on any of their rides.

On a sunday in July I waited more than an hour to ride Hades. Day AND night. As far as storing it a roof above the last brake run should work.

Then what about the days where there would be basically nobody in the park? They'd be forced to use two trains because there'd be no way to get the other train off the track, and running two trains would be completely pointless and a waste of money. They'd pretty much have to build a transfer track in order to get another train.

I'm not saying it won't happen, however, as Holiday World's Raven just recently had a transfer track added so it could support a second train.

I'd like to see them make 50 foot high transfer track.

$$

It does get quite crowded, but running two trains should be a standard on Hades. They don't have to worry about filling every seat.

I believe the park did announce that next year Hades will recieve a second train, and I think they mentioned they will add another car to the existing train. It was built for 2.
