I've hated the Sox with a passion for my whole life. Why should I change because they are doing well for once?

I didn't say you should. Maybe if your team isn't in the World Series and the only other one got YOUR team out of the playoffs plenty of times, maybe just not root for anyone at all?

Now, I'm just wondering where all you Sox fans have been all year long? I only know of Dave and Timmy who were even the least bit vocal about being Sox fans.

Could I be smelling fair weather fans?

Close, most of us are coming out of hibernation for the Playoffs. When the Sox win the World series, we'll go back until the next time they reach the playoffs.

They are all Cub fans that jumped on the Sox bangwagon since the Cubs are the joke of the league.

Joke of the league? I think that title goes to the NL West.

So in otherwords your too embaressed to show your Sox Pride when they suck?

I watch almost every cubs game, I'm never afraid to cheer for them, I'm never afriad to wear my cubs attire. I've cheered the cubs on through worse.

First of all, the tickets did sell out in 20 minutes, i am related (not by blood, but through my uncle) to Tim Purpura, GM for the Astros, and my dad and brothers scored box seats. Me and my mom, however, who are hard core cubs fans did not go.

For all you cubs fans out there, i AM rooting for the sox. I AM NOT jumping on the band wagon, i am just understanding that my dad has been waiting his whole life for this and since i could care less about the Astros, why not let the sox fans have their moment. My dad rooted for the Cubs for me a few years back, why not root for them. I am not jumping on the bandwagon and i even turned down world series tickets, however, i hope the sox win.

Sorry for the speech, by all means, continue the conversation.

Well even when the cubs were doing well I didn't like all the bandwagon hoppers. They were coming out of the woodwork. But look back to june of this year, Cubs were selling out games, while the 1st place white sox wern't.

Now, all of the sudden, everyone and their brother is a diehard sox fan.

I am not a bandwagon jumper. I am a baseball fan. I have watched both the Cubs, and the Sox equally for the entire season, and the quality of baseball I watched on the south side far exceeded anything I saw on the north. More so, I am a fan of Chicago, you know, the city in which I live, or close to it atleast. I don't live in Boston, Anahiem, or Houston, so why in the heck would I root for their baseball team  .
As far as people jumping on the bandwagon, I am sure that during the Cubs run in the playoffs, several people hopped on board. Sure Wrigley sold out every game, but I will ask Cub fans this. If the Sox continue to do well for several seasons, say a dynasty, and the Cubs continue to tank, how long do you think before Wrigley starts looking like the Lee Elia days in the late 70's, early 80's, and The Cell starts to fill up?
Look at it this way Cub fans, if I were you, I would hope the Sox win the World Series. With the curses of the Red Sox, and White Sox gone, that leaves the Cubs the only baseball team left to have not won anything in over 90 years. That will put pressure on the managment of the Cubs to try and bring a World Series winner to the Northside, especially if the run of the White Sox continues.
The White Sox have been the stepchild of Chicago, and its about time that they took center stage. As a fan of the game, this is some of the best baseball I have seen in awhile in this town. So, for baseball fans, and for the people of Chicago, enjoy this.
Let me add one more thing about people who jump on the bandwagon. So. Who cares. Their from Chicago. They want to see their city win a championship. Is that so bad? They jump on because championships don't come around this town that often. Not since the Bulls of the 90's.

Well at least we can say the sox are doing well. All you cubs fans "say is next year, next year. Well maybe we will see the cubs in the world series in 06" Yeah we will see them in the world series in 06, 3006 is more like it.

To all you cubs fans out there. Shut up, you are jellious that the sox are doing somthing that you cubs fans can only dream of. Its called Winning!

Guillen apologizes after Sox fan slaps Biggio's wife

Great class, Sox fan.

In response to you, JG, I am jealous of the Sox winning. I think every fan and every member of any of the 29 teams other than the Sox are jealous of them winning. Who doesn't want to win?

Thank you, Captian Obvious.

I was never really a Cubs fan....my uncle was though. He was from IL. I've always been a White Sox fan, since I was like 13. So, to say I'm happy to see them finally make it to the Series is an understatement. :)

Where have you people been, y would anyone say that the sox fans only cheer now cause they are winning, we always cheered, win or lose we always had sox pride. I do respect people for sticking by their team(cubs fans) but i dont appreciate you guys wishing that the sox lose, you guys are just haters.
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.

^ Wow, how about using some grammar and spelling, that post is borderline unreadable.

Timmy, your upset with my attitude twords the sox? I've hated the sox, I've always rooted against them. I've heard you mock the cubs plenty of times. Just because the team is doing well shouldnt mean I should "pretend" to root for them. I'm only being more vocal of my sox opposition to offset all the fair weather fans.

In May of this year, I saw nobody wearing Sox jerseys. Now every other person is wearing White Sox jerseys or "Sox Pride" shirts. Give it another year and you won't see any of that.

So, basically, we can't be a Cubs fan because we don't win. I'm a Cubs fan, but am still rooting for the Sox this season. That post was obnoxious.

That was directed at those who bash the white sox, not those who support them for the world series.
