How did someone find this name. I hope itll be official because the name and proposed theme( fly at the speed of fear) are both kick a**! The colors are amazing red, yellow and bright orange supports give off a great color cordination...theyre all warm/hot colors. I hope itll be more fast paced and thrilling than SUF
It seems like it is going to be a long coaster, unless those markings at the bottom of the hill arent for the coaster, much better than SUF and I think SUF is great.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
the people dont know the name, i think rcpro made it up or something . . . the name is cool, the colors are ugly, and this will be one MASSIVE coater !
Well, to me the colors are very symbolic if the name and theme stay as they are now. Tatsu means dragon in japenese or something. A dragon is "known" to breathe fire and be somewhat monsterous, hence giving the ride a few hot colors. I think its a very logical decision and a great one at that

yeah um..how do I put this..oh yeah. RCpro is a respected site and we would not make up a coaster name. The webmaster went onto the tradmark/patent site and found the name for a flying coaster at a SF park. Since Tatsu is the only flying coaster known that SF is building, and that it is in a Jappanese area, it is assumed that this is the name. I am just not saying this because I am a member of that site, it is just that the facts point to Tatsu being the name.
BTW haydawg, I would hate for the RCpro users to find about this. (he's a member)
Well the second I heard the name, I had my friend translate it on this website that will do just that. It translates anyword from any language to english or vice-versa. When he chose japenese, he typed in TATSU it showed a large mythical creature, dragon. Plus, rcpro and screamscape said it meant dragon. The colors I know are hot colors because you just know these things in art...and the "hot/warm" colors are very symbolic to a dragon.
I just saw new construction photos, there are more supports and "flying" mechanisms that arrived and there are markers on the hillside of the waterfall at the entrance of the park. You know where Revolution crosses over? They even turned off the waterfall, its not flowing down!
Took some new pics from the construction site of SFMM's new B&M Flyer yesterday. At the moment, it is still a lot of dirt and land clearing. But you can see they have started marking off some areas for footers and they have the steel ready to go. Here's yesterday's photos:

Also, that October 8th update shows a bit of the development going on in front of the park, which I'm now told has been zoned for "retail and residential."
While I can't imagine houses going into that area it would be nice to get a few more restaurants within walking distance of the park.
It doesn't appear that any rides will be going anywhere. Orient Express should be staying or else it would have been gone by now I'm sure. Also, Sky Tower will probably never go anywhere in the near future it serves as a park landmark. This coaster is really going to be huge, as it covers a huge area. Pictures just don't do justice over how large of an area they are working with. I can't wait for the announcement that is rumored to be in November, which sounds believable.
^ Yeah, while it looks like they are making a total mess out of Orient Express during the construction, I really don't think it's going anywhere either.
The mass of land that appears it may take up, looks as if the ride really will be huge. I wonder what kind of elements it will execute or do. I hope it has at least one or more overbanked turn like the one on SilverBullet! Lets just hope its really exciting (its a B&M, so it will be )
It was already announced in an SEC filing. They said Tatsu Flying Coaster for SFMM in 06, listed a bunch of other parks also, though SFGAm was not on the list.
