B&M Giga...

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby CoastsToCoasters on October 7th, 2005, 4:56 pm
This has been on my mind for quite some time now but I thought you guys and gals may turn it down but whatev...

Wouldnt it be nice if B&M pulled through with a 300ft somethin' coaster! Their tallest is SILVERSTAR at roughly 240ft. I thought because they're the best, that they could construct their first giga...here! I dont know where it could/would go in our park but it could be those classy, modern colors siverstar has(black and silver). The only thing is, is that all my original drawings sorta look like the new GOLIATH :? which sucks. I wanted it to be very nice looking...as all B&Ms do, have their steepest drop and design a new cool lookin restraint so it didnt look like Raging bulls. I made them smaller like Goliaths at SFMM but more interesting, enhancing the fear of insecurity. The reason I dont want Intamin is because of theyre saftey rating. We wouldnt want a giga with over the shoulder restraints now do we?

I just think since were like B&Ms testing grounds, that they could make another of their first here...and it would be the best in the world so cedarpoint can lose it for awhile. :)

1. bigger doesn't always equal better
2. B+M has never made a giga before so they obvisouly share that philosophy
3. As far as them being the best, (Even though I completly agree) that is only your opinoin, not everyone agrees with that.
4. Unfortunatly, the park hasn't really been B+Ms testing grounds since the late 90s. Unfortunate but true.
5. The residents of gurnee would complain and
6. It would be unlikely that the board would allow that to get that tall. It would also be very noisy probably would would mean
7. More complaining neighbors who, if we give them enought to complain about may campaign for a closing of the ride and/or park which may lead to
8. no more giga coaster at SFGAm, or no more SFGAm (Which is highly unlikely but possible)

9. You keep making topics about SFGAm should do this, do that. We all want new things but really, just be happy that you have such a great and big park so close to your house.

If they do I hope they've researched the elevator lift. I couldn't imagine the ol clankety clank for 300+ft. That would take like 20 mins.

Well guess what, its my opinion....Jeez sorry that I like to hear everyones opinions and ideas, thats all they are...my ideas and I like getting people involved, its fun to hear what others have to say. I dont just say SFGAM do this, do that, theyre what ifs, wouldnt it be cool, wouldnt that be nice kind of topics....You know what, I am happy about our park, I do like it or else I wouldnt be on here. I have alot of respect for the park and this site. Sorry I post what I want, you dont have to answer, or answer negativley at that if you dont want to. Thats all you have to say to me all the time.
Sorry I keep telling the park what to do....cause Im not, they are simply ideas not demands BINKS, did I spell it right too? Sorry but to me thats not cool to accuse me of demands or whatever.

I like to hear other peoples ideas on this site because theyre very knowledgable and quite nice to listen to what others have to say!

Oh, and thank you ragingbullchick :)

Yes you did spell it right.

you say you like to hear everyone's opinoin, and that's my opinoin. There was no part of that post that attacked you, and the point wasn't to make you angry, and I apologize If i did. You just seem to be making the impression that you dislike the way things are run occasionally. (Which happens to everyone, we've all complained or disliked something the park has done or hasn't done) And also we don't need 40 topics about what if, wouldn't it be cool if, etc...(Which no matter what somehow regress into rumor topics) why not just make a "Wouldn't it be cool" topic and post various ideas in there.

I think it would be a good idea. Maybe not at this park, but it would be nice. If Millennium Force had Raging Bull seats and more airtime, i would like it A LOT better. I hope it happens in the near future.
BTW, Binks, i have found all of gottastrata33's topics interesting

Yes, you did anger me but I get over things. I didnt like the way you worded it. It came off as negative to me, and I may have taken it to the extreme but it did make me a little ticked.
As Ive said before, I really do like our park, I however think about rollercoasters and theme parks constantly because I want to be a "designer" for them so I flow with constant ideas. I like to hear everyones input, but if I feel it comes off too negative to me I get discouraged(if thats the right word to use) and freak if you will and youre right in a sense, if its negative its still their opinion....So I am sorry for yelling, I just have ideas that I would like to know if others would like as well. Just to warn you though more of "these" topics will rise more sooner than later. Parks are constantly changing and like to have a certain uniqueness to them that no else will have(for awhile  ) I know this, so I like to think what could be done for the GP? What do others want, what do I think would be a great addition. It feels like the real big parks are constantly getting new rides like SFGAD is, but I discuss our park because its a place all of us here constantly visit. And I wonder what you guys would want to see done here. I never try to make it sound like great america should do this or that, just take it into consideration what the future could hold for Six Flags.

Thank you very much Trailblazer Tony :D

They are the best. That's why they don't need to build a gimmick I mean Giga Coaster.

They can do more with 200 ft than most can with 300. Height isn't everything.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

See theres this thing called experiementing..that B&M hasn't done yet.

Binks, the park has 330ft, they can still make a Giga. The township hasn't turned down the park anything major yet, and they usually take the parks side.

Though these neighbors really make me mad. If you were there before the park was built I can understand, but who the heck moves next to a theme park and dosen't expect noise?

CP had B&M submit a bid for what ended up as Millennium Force, though it ended up being out of CP's price range.

So B&M would consider 300+ foot coaster, but if CP cant afford it, chances are no one can. Though it is possible that B&M didnt want to take on such a project and set the price accordingly.

Wow, well MF costed $25 million along with TTD...Why would B&M go higher than that, and where did you find this out?

It would be nice if people found B&MS giga to be a better steel coaster than MF....if B&M wouldnt set trim brakes everywhere

No, but I know they would do an excellent job and it wouldnt have to go all the way to the 330ft restriction....it could be anywhere from 300-330ft within there, so if it was 317ft tall, its still a giga.

It would be mice if it did happen, but it won't. Six Flags can't afford it anyway...
