SFStL - October 1, 2005

Let us know how your day at the park was.

We drove down to Carlinville, IL on Friday night because my mom had a reunion at Blackburn College on Saturday. On Saturday around 10 me and my dad drove off for a 2 hour drive to SFStL. It was nice to pass up downtown St. Louis, with a bit of a backup along the way in the road...

We arrived at 12 and headed into the park. I decided to hit Batman first since it was the closest. Jesus, it is a long walk through the Gotham City Park queue... One train wait for front row. I thought it seemed pretty good, the G's in front row were intense. I got right back on in front row again, and a 3rd time in back row.

Next up was Mr. Freeze. I think they only had 1 train going at first so the line was a bit long, then after 10 minutes they started using the other train. It was about a 30 minute wait for front row. I was so excited that I felt a little bit nervous for some odd reason... omg, I freakin LOVE this ride. The launch is awesome along with the rest of the ride... Man, it's almost better than Vu. Ok no but seriously, it has to be either in my top 5 or top 10. I absolutely love the top hat.

Then waited for Xcalibur, and the ride sort of broke down for 5 minutes. Got right on after that though. The view was interesting but other than that, made me feel sick and was kind of boring. I think the G's were too much for me.

Went on Boss after that, 20 minute wait for front row. Wow, just wow. I love how big this coaster is... Best woodie I've been on. Then kinda walked around, trying to find something to ride. Screamin' Eagle was closed, so I decided to eat some lunch. Luckily when I was down eating, SE had opened, so I went on it in back row, walk on. Let me just say that I am GLAD SFGAm takes care of their woodies. Ouch... That's all I have to say.

Next, went on River King Mine Train. This was a fun little ride, didn't expect the tunnel at the end which made it even better, and I loved the close-up view of Ninja. And that's where I went next... Front row, roughly a 10 minute wait. Only real bad headbanging I experienced was in the sidewinder after the vertical loop, which is one of my favorite inversions.

Then went to BTR again, a slightly longer line, 5 minute wait for front row. Got right back on in back row. After looking everywhere for a Mr. Freeze t-shirt, I decided to go on it a few times. First a 5-10 min. wait for front, then a 5 minute wait for back row. Gah, the large people really slow down loading times badly. Back row was much better, well more intense anyways, but I still prefer front.

After walking around a bit, I got lost trying to find the Boss. When I finally approached it, I got right in line, 5 minute wait for the front. It's so rough... but so awesome. Went on Ninja again in front row, not as much headbanging this time.

It was about 7, and I decided to hitch in some night rides on BTR. Went on it 3 times, twice in front and once in the back. This was much faster at night for some odd reason, it was awesome. I think I like SFStL's BTR better than SFGAm's. After that, I RAN to Mr. Freeze to get in a few night rides. Waited like 20 minutes to get on in the front row, and they only had one train... I was soo hot in the station, and riding this was a GREAT way to cool off. Ahhh. It was nearly 8 so I wasn't sure if they were still letting people in line. I decided to hop back in line, and went in the back row. This ride is amazing at night...

That pretty much sums up my trip to SFStL. Lots of hills + Lots of walking = Exhausting. I had a good time though, although I wish I went on Mr. Freeze more than I did.

BTR- 8
Mr. Freeze- 5
Boss- 2
Ninja- 2
Screamin' Eagle- 1
River King Mine Train- 1
Xcalibur- 1
Total- 20 rides in 8 hours... eh, not bad. A lot of things slowed me down.

I hope I can make another trip down there in the coming years, I really liked Mr. Freeze... BTR was really awesome too. Oh yeah, I'll have pictures up sometime tonight.

Sounds like you had a nice time. I actually thought the boss was A LOT rougher than Screamin' Eagle last time i went there. Wasn't River King Mine Ride a fun ride? Glad the lines weren't too long and glad you got on the rides a lot of times.

You missed the Scooby ride???? I see you changed your avatar again. The two roller coasters you went on once I loved, and the other ones I didn't really care about except Mr. Freeze. SFStL is a really good park in my opinion though.

And I do think that Mr. Freeze has a lot of potential for getting up close to D Vu's position, but I'm my opinion D Vu' still beats it out. I wish SFGAm had Mr. Freeze, Screamin' Eagle, and a Mine Train. :D :D

I thought Screamin' Eagle was pretty good, but it was just too rough for me. I would've rather gone in the front but back row had no line so... I do wish that SFGAm had a Mr. Freeze...

I went on grand opening year and it was rough then. My vehicle's wheels were not flat so our car rocked back and forth like a chair with uneven legs. One of the worst rides i have ever been on.
