B&M designs...

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby CoastsToCoasters on September 6th, 2005, 11:16 pm
This may be a lil' bit of a crazy subject but illl shoot....Sorry if its long
Awhile(seriously) ago I was searching online for coaster rumors as usual. I came across this article about how sucsessful Acrophobia at SFOG was(the floorless standup seating) that B&M was gonna work on a prototype for Kennywood as an inverted standup coaster with that exact seating? " Oww". Is this even possible... I mean it truly does sound cool because we wouldn't have to worry about uncomfortable B&M trains 8) right? It is a cool concept though.
This may sound crazier but I've designed over 15 serious coasters myself. Some of which I do in my junior year art classes. Since ive always been obsessed with B&m dive machines, I wanted something more...A B&M dive machine with a more than vertical drop. It would go up a steep lift, make that agonizing slow turnaround, the holding brake and the real steep drop into a really deep dark tunnel(20-whatever feet deep). It would have some kind of freaky theme too. Everyones used the inverted B&M invention, so cant they use the eurofighter like drop?...ehh, whatever...I just wanted to hear your feedback on what youve heard, and what's possible. I know you dont know me and I probally sound odd, so sorry

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. That would be cool, if they could make the vehicles comfy. Anyways, i like dive machines too.

I don't see B&M making one. Plus, wouldn't the g's be a bit too high?
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

The gs are controlled by the track shape and coaster speed combined. Not how you sit.

Yes, but your body can handle Gs differently depending on if you are sitting, standing, or flying, etc.

And, the amount put on your body is controlled by the track shape and the speed combined. Theres no issue there.

Would the G's be too high on the rumored coaster or "my dive machine"?

Well, honestly... a couple years ago were you ever thinking about the the idea of a eurofighter like coaster being possible? :P I mean there was people amazed by the drop on Oblivion in 1998 because people never really saw a coaster like that before. I look at it this way...Today with a little study and time anything (within reason) can be possible, our imaginations run wild.

Im 100% positive that they could controll the G's on your dive machine as well as the "rumored coaster" with good design and know-how... it would be a wonderful ride.

Thank You :D Yes I agree for the inverted standup and "indented" drop one, with controlling and "know-how" experience they could be great rides.
Huh  ...Instead of dive machine ill call it the indent coaster...umm...Sounds stupid doesn't it  ? just a thought, its like a gift...JK

Here(sorry for the double post) Im going to turn this topic a tiny little bit around.....

Have you ever had your imagination set on a design you'd want to be real because you really thought it could work? Lets hear your ideas, I mean everything! - the name, what type, who'd build it, theming, etc.

Go wild if you'd like 8)

It would sound cool if they did create some type of stand up invert. I don't really see it happening anytime soon, but hey, anything can happen.

A stand-up inverted would be cool. I can picture it now. It would certainly look a little weird.

B&M would never do such a thing, and Kennywood would likely never get a B&M.

For teh floorless woodie idea, I need to bring up the NCC quote of the year(03 I belive) by Tom Rebbie.

"Is the sky blue in the world that you live in?"

Which he said after he was asked one of the most moronic questions ever asked, going up against the saying the dumbest question is one that is not asked, but this was an exeption, asking if they had looked into making floorless woodie trains.

Though tom rebbie was waiting the whole night to tell that kid off, and that was the perfect oppertunity.

I came up with an idea called the sideways, stand-up coaster. It is a stand-up where your shoulders face the front and the back of the vehicle.
I thought this would rock on turns because you would either feel like you are falling forwards or backwards. Get what i'm saying?
Can you imagine a vertical loop going sideways?

Aw...You cant say they would NEVER get a B&M! Their hopes are now buried cause of you  JK. Yeah thats sort of true, kennywood getting a B&M  . Although It would be nice for the smaller parks to get the BIG rides for a change... the future will only tell

B&M's are really just to pricey for small parks, plus generally B&M doesnt do rides for smaller parks. to get Chang SFKK (just KK at the time) actually flew someone to Switzerland with a check in hand, and B&M wouldnt do a thing til the check cleared.

Of course, cant say never with certainty, but it's extraordinarily unlikely, especially since KW like to get unique things.

The sideways one sounds awsome, and for all the random, NEVER HAPPENING or WOULD NEVER HAPPEN, we are not asking for that, these are just ideas no need to state that it would never happen

I think the Stand up inverted sounds awsome.

I think they should try to make Top Thrill Dragster as a Suspended coaster type like V2 only the exact format of TTD, new name of course...I however highly doubt it would be possible, would any of you ride a SUSPENDED Top Thrill Dragster?

YES! I actually designed an inverted accelerator coaster that was 200+ ft tall, launched at 80-90 something mph. and the top hat element was an inversion! after the top hat it went into a steep inverted zero-g like roll...bam, the brakes. I named the ride after THE FLASH superhero.

It would be awesome to have a stand-up wooden coaster.

This one probably wouldn't be possibe but I'll put dowm the idea anyway.

A suspended swinging wooden roller coaster.

I have also thought about a stand up wooden coaster, however, think of how much your feet would hurt if the ride turned out as rough as Son of Beast. I still think that it would be neat.
