Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby low42 on August 17th, 2005, 11:47 pm
Me and the woman got to the park at about 11:15am (though the plan was to be there at 10am) and then waited another half-hour just to get in. It seemed rather crowded at first for being a Wednesday, but it turned out ok.

V2 was still down all day (obviously), with the train sitting in the station. Never moved that I know of. Loggers Run was down all day too but I don't know why. On to the rides...

First up: Viper. About a 25-minute wait and the ride ops were taking their sweet-ass time. Rode in the second car. I have to admit, this woodie gets better each time I ride it. I think I would have to rank it better than AE now. It's a good ride to get the day started. For today I'll give it a 9 out of 10.

2nd ride: Raging Bull. About a 45-minute wait. Only about one-thrid of the first swtichback was being used. They ran only two trains most of the day I believe. Once again we sat 2nd row (yellow train). For some reason I can't get my girlfriend to ride up front. I can't complain though, because she doesn't really like coasters anymore but she still goes on them with me. Anyways, it's Raging Bull, score 10/10.

3rd: Deja Vu. 45-minute wait. I was quite suprised actually. I'd thought it would be packed by the time I got there. I went solo on this one. The woman will not go on this ride no matter what. She bailed on me both times last year as well. I don't get her. She'll ride Bull, B:TR, and V2, but not Deja Vu. :? Go figure. Anyways, I sat 7b. I wanted to go in 8b but I didn't feel like waiting any longer than I already had. I admit I'm not a big fan of Deja Vu but I think it's worth at least one ride every visit. 7/10.

4th: Demon. 10-minute wait. Red train, 2nd row. Ugh, I swear this coaster gets rougher each time I ride it. It's to the point now where it wouldn't bother me if I never rode it again. I noticed this terrible "wobble" right before going up the lift, followed by a loud clank at the top. I have to admit it, Demon just isn't fun anymore. Scores 5/10.

5th: Splash Water Falls. Aboout a 25-minute wait. The best water ride in the entire park, in my opinion. We got soaked and had fun. SWF has the best exit of any ride in the park. The bridge rules. I love it. 10/10.

After that we decided to head back to the car and grab some lunch, not to mention I had to change my socks. 4pm we re-entered the park and headed to...

6th: AER. Blue was going backwards today but personally I'd rather go forward. About a 15-minute wait. Once again we sat in the second car. This coaster needs some work. At least give it a paint job. It's rough, but it's a classic and the helix is still cool. 7/10.

7th: Iron Wolf. 10-15-minute wait. We finally rode front row, weeeeeee. This is still my second favorite coaster behind RB. I just love it. It didn't seem as rough in the past, especially after the screw. And it's another ride that could use a repainting. This ride got a 9/10.

8th ride: Batman. My god, this coaster if freakin' ugly now. They need to paint it back to it's original color. Anyways, about a 30-minute wait for front row. This is the first time I've ever ridden B:TR up front. The view was awesome, but I have to be honest, I damn near blacked out towards the end. Seriously, I'm not sure why. It was still intense... I just hate that it ends so quickly. 7/10.

9th: Roaring Rapids. Maybe a 20-minute wait. Still a fun ride considering I've been on it a thousand times. The waterfall before the cave/tunnel was actually working unlike the last time I rode it. We got drenched and that's all we wanted. 9/10.

10th ride: Superman. Yawnnnnnn. Someone remind me why I waited about 40 minutes to ride in the second row? This ride is too short and a yawner after the pretzel loop. Bring back Shockwave! Scores a 5/10.

We had to take another break and get some snacks, after a short rest we continued on...

11th: Iron Wolf. This time it was a walk-on, but this time we also got the other train. Got 2nd row and got ear-bashed to death. Both trains they had running today were worlds apart. THe first ride was smooth, this one was borderline horrible. 5/10.

Last but certainly not least, the 12th and final ride of the day: Raing Bull. Yellow train, last row, 50-minute wait. It's nice saving the best for last, plus it was dark out. 10/10. 8)

That concluded our day. I left with a headache which meant only one thing- I had fun. Anyways, it was a decent day. I would have preferred a few more clouds in the sky though.

By the way, I also have a new pet peeve. These idiots who click the seatbelt buckles over and over on IW after the ride is over. Man, that crap is annoying.

And for all you slobs in the parking lot, start cleaning up your garbage!

You rode in Red train on Demon, thats the roughest train. How tall are you?

I guess staffing issues are forcing Bull to 2 trains and Eagle to one side.

Why have they only been running two trains on Bull and having only one side on Eagle open?

There's your problem. If you want a good ride, you have to wait for the last car.

I'm 5'11". I've rode in the last car twice last year, both on the red train though. I hardly noticed a difference. :? The red train sucks no matter where you sit. Next time I go I will try a different train and report back. It's still getting rougher each year regardless, in my opinion.

What do you mean only one side of the Eagle being open? Both red and blue were operating yesterday.

I forgot to point out that Bull did have three trains running when we got in line for the last ride around 7:30pm.

Goodbye to empty Eagle stations.

I don't know what he's talking about. The only staffing Issues I noticed yesterday were:

Raging Bull had two trains until around 12:30 PM, then they added the 3rd.

Deja Vu didn't have a grouper until like 3 PM.

Eagle ran both sides two trains all day.

That's because there are no staffing issues now. What happend was probably a coinsidence. The staffing problems really are starting to happen now, and will continue for a few weeks. What with everyone going back to collage and all.
