I think it should be up to the mother. Why is there the need to always make laws to make decisions for people.

maybe to protect people's rights? if there's weren't a law protecting your freedom of expression, someone could decide to suppress you expression. but who needs the ability to say what they want, right?
its pretty simple from where I sit. if you want a kid, you have intercourse. this has worked fairly well for at least all of human history. if you don't want a kid, you either don't have intercourse or you use protective countermeasures. either way you accept the outcome of your actions whatever they may be. isn't that what life is about? making decisions and taking responsibility for the consequences. I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer? No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

Well the way I see it, the baby is still 100% dependant on the mother for life. In that case, I believe it's the mother's choice for an abortion (barring late term abortions).
^ Then make a wise decision to not have sex and have baby instead of killing it. In the case that it is rape, birth control pills, or a condom breaking, have it adopted. Don't kill it. Thats just disgusting to do.
You see, I don't consider it killing. It's still 100% dependent on the mother. Therefor, I believe the mother has control over it in the early terms.
How is it not killing? No it's not up to the mother it's up to God whether or not it is to be born and obviously he wants her to have that baby for some reason so therefor YES it is killing she is taking away an innocent life when she made the mistake.
Quite honestly I can't stand these girls that go and have babies and just throw them away like that. My sister tried for years to get pregnant and have a child. She knows how bad it hurts to loose a baby through 4 miscarriages and then you have these skanks that go and get pregnant and just throw away their own baby like garbage. What the hell is the matter with them???
Yes but if the child hasn't been born yet, then how can it die. And by the way, it's obvious how much you care about this when you continually call an unborn child "It". There's affection at it's finest, there. 
That is it. I can not take this any longer.  How the hell can you go around and say if a woman is raped, it is her mistake. That is just insanely stupid.
As if actually being raped isn't traumatic enough, you think the victims should be required to be reminded every day of the horrible way in which they have been wronged. Then on top of that, you expect them to go through labor.
human babies are 100% dependant on the parents for a long time after birth. we're a species that does not abandon our young. think about it this way: mama salmon lays her eggs in the stream. the eggs hatch and the kiddies start living. barring any outside influences, every baby salmon survives. they immediately start feeding themselves and go on with their lives. they don't need their parents and really don't have them as most adult salmon die after reproducing. the rest just start the cycle over. now drop a baby human in the middle of nowhere and see what happens. it won't feed itself because its can't. hell, it can barely even move after its born. baby humans have to discover that they have hands and feet! they can't walk for months! so they are still 100% dependant on the parents even after birth. so what's the difference between being dependant inside the womb and outside?

gramatically speaking, since the sex of the child is unknown, it would be best to refer to the embryo as "he or she" instead of "it." technically the baby does have a sex even if we can't feasibly determine that sex until later in the pregnancy.

Just because the baby isn't born yet doesnt mean that the baby isn't alive! Yes the baby is alive inside the mother... Duh!!!! And like w00dland said I obviously don't know the sex of the baby yet!!

Ummm.....Did you happen to read all of the post? I stated if it was a case of rape or something else that she can't help give it up for adoption instead of killing it!!!!! How many times do I have to say that?!?!?!? Okay it wasn't her fault she was raped, give the baby up for adoption then!!!!!! And yes, my family and I know the trauma of rape. My aunt was raped when she was a teen. She even states that she would have given her baby up for adoption instead of killing the baby, It's just murder and it's disgusting!!!!!!! And yeah, I do expect her to go through with the labor, sure being raped wasn't her decision, but SHE should feel SHE'S wrong for KILLING her unborn child!!!!!!!!

Everyone has a right to believe what they want... that is what makes America the land of freedom. NO ONE is right one way or another. People are entitled to make their own decisions I suppose you would even tell the woman to go through labor even if the doctors knew it would kill the mother to have the child. Sure America has the right to choose but there is such a thing as wright and wrong choices that people make every day. If only people could make wright choices this world would be and even better place. I sure as hell wouldn't was that as a mother if she wouldn't even give up her own life for her son or daughter. I know my mother would. The mom has had a chance at life and lived it to the fullest. She wouldn't even give her own baby a chance at life? I know that my girlfriend would give up her life for her unborn child. That's true love for ones own child. Something I guess YOU can't understand. What I am trying to say is that this has ALWAYS been a divided issue and by coming onto a message board and saying "I am right" "You are wrong" you are not going to get a very good response from either men or women. I stayed out of it until the child like responses came out.... "Well I am right and you are wrong so blah"
