Valleyfair! Shakopee, MN

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Have any of you guys ever been to Valleyfair before. If so tell me what your favorite coaster or flatride is and, what your least favorite coaster or flatride is. Also tell me about how you liked your day there.

My favorite coaster would have to be "Wild Thing" it's super smooth.

My favorite flatride would have to be "Power Tower", it's like GD but it has three towers and it goes up 275 ft. One of the towers shoots you up 275 ft and the other two drop you at 275 ft. Another favorite flat ride would have to be "Riptide" it's like "King Chaos" but it sprays water at you.

My least favorite coaster is " Excalibur" because it's really rough. It has a steel track and wooden supports. Like "Gemini".

My least favorite flatride is "Enterprise".

I believe Riptide is a floorless topspin though.

I've been there. an average park with a little above average coasters and run by an average company. Please excuse my continued usage of the word "average"

VF! doesnt do much for me, though my favorite coaster there is probably Exclaibur (bad when the best coaster there, IMHO is an Arrow Mine Train)

is a fun park though, as every time you pass though a trim brake you get to yell Vally-unFair! (that's 5 times on the first drop of Exclaibur) :)

^ Well on Wild Thing they usually run two but a lot of the time they run three. The lines for the coasters look long but the lines move very quickly.

The park really isn't as crowded as SFGAM but it can get really busy!

To get more info on Valleyfair!, go to http://www.valleyfair.com

You can find out a bunch of more things you want to know from the website!!

I was just there for the first time about two weekends ago, and I wasn't too impressed with the coasters. It is a cute little park. and they have a good collection of flats, as it seems there is one almost everywhere you look.

As for the coasters:
Wild Thing: Fun, but not spectacular; not much more I can say. Wild Thing ran three trains, but stacked like mad.

High Roller: I liked this old woodie, except for the really hard trim after the turnaround.

Corkscrew: Seriously the smoothest Arrow I have ever ridden. We rode somewhere in the middle, and I never hit my head once. I actually enjoyed this one!

Steel Venom: It's and Impulse... what can I say :P . Best ride in the park.

Excalibur: Once was enough for a lifetime. I felt like I was going to break my neck, and to add to that, it made my friend sick. The first drop was fun though.

Mad Mouse: Didn't ride, due to the insane line for it.
Finally Coaster Season!!

Mad Mouse's line is always long.

Steel Venom is better that V2.

Excalibur has always been rough.

The best part about Wild Thing is the first drop.

I don't think it's slower by much.

Steel Venom's top speed: 68 mph.

He just said it was slower, he didn't say it was A LOT slower. You just tried to disprove his point, but you really just backed it up.

If you can get a ride on Steel Venom that goes faster than sixty, I consider you a lucky person. As for the loudness, it has a horrible screech when the LiM's start, and when they hold the train up the straight spike.

Thats what I thought. Cedar Fair parks are perfect. There is nothing ever wrong with CF run parks. I think the world is coming to an end. Sorry, I thought I was over at the Coasterbuzz.com forums.

I grew up at Valleyfair! and love it. No it isn't Six Flags but it has it's own great qualities to it. I only have Six Flags Great America to compare it too and I don't know which I like more. Six Flags did have a few more rollercoasters. But Wild Thing is right up there with the Raging Bull. I like the Wild Thing more. Which wood coaster could compare the Excaliburs first drop? I love it!!!!!! Just have to stick up to my home amusement park...
