5/15/05 - I am proud to say that...

Let us know how your day at the park was.

I finally got to go on Dare Devil Dive! LOL. That was the highlight of today.

Got there at about 10:45. We went on Whizzer first. Walk-on. Whizzer was really fun today for some odd reason. Then we went on Viper, 1 train wait for 1:3. It was running great today, but my boyfriend didn't like it. Surprisingly, he was actually ready to ride Raging Bull already, basically because it doesn't go upside down. We waited 5 minutes for back row. He wanted to get off as we went up the lift, but I suppose he enjoyed the ride.

Next was Giant Drop. My boyfriend didn't hesitate to go on it, which surprised me. I guess he didn't hesitate because he's been on Tower of Terror. GD was a walk-on. Oh my GOD, that drop scared the crap out of me. It felt way more forceful than it usually does. Great ride. Next was Demon. Walk on. We got the red train, wow, it was sooo smooth. Perfect ride. Jason liked it.

Jason wanted to go on Great America Raceway, so we did. As we were on it I was checking out Dare Devil Dive, heh. When we got off I was telling him how bad I wanted to ride it. He actually wanted to go on it himself, and he was encouraging me to go on it! But for some odd reason I was feeling so scared about it. It was the first time I felt scared about riding a ride in 2-3 years. I decided to go on Eagle to give myself more time to think about it. We went on AE Backwards, front row. AWESOME RIDE! It was running GREAT. He liked AEB a lot better than Viper. While waiting in the station, I suddenly wanted to go on DDD right away.

Decided to use the bathroom first, didn't want any accidents. We made our reservation and went on. The moment my feet rose from the floor I felt like passing out. I was so scared, I don't know why. But I knew I was going to come off saying "Let's do that again!" We started going up, and I freaked out more each second. I said "I am NEVER doing this again." I wanted to get off so bad, lol. Then they said "3, 2, 1, fly!" But of course Jason was having troubles... a few seconds later we "flew". Later in the day we saw a couple who had the same problem releasing the cord, lol. Holy crap, I screamed my head off for the first 2 seconds. The first drop was awesome and after that it was nothing. FUN ride. :D I was sooo glad I finally got to ride it.

Then we went on Revolution. 1 cycle wait. Made me feel a bit sick but it was awesome. Jason was hesitant to go on IW so we skipped it. We went on Spacely's next, walk on for front row. Fun ride... Next was Batman, 15 minute wait for back row. Awesome freakin' ride, except Jason kinda didn't like it because he blacked out. Then we went on ERC, good ride. Next was Cajun, bleh, 30 minute wait with a 10 minute break down. We didn't spin right away! But it was still a good ride. Then we decided to go eat at Bayou Grill.

King Chaos was very tempting... I wanted to go on it so bad. So I went on it by myself since Jason was afraid of getting sick since he just ate. I had an awesome beyond awesome time riding it, I had the biggest smile on my face. Never had that much fun riding it. He didn't want to ride SUF yet either, so we went on Rue Le Dodge. Bleh, 15 minute wait. Good ride though. Then we rode SUF, because for some reason I really wanted to get on it. Great ride in the money seat. It's definitely a better ride if you look down.

Jason wanted to ride King Chaos, so we did because I was more than happy to ride it again. We got on right away, once again, awesome ride. I couldn't pass up Batman without riding it again, so we walked onto the back row. Boyfriend was freaked out by V2 so we never rode it. He was ready to ride IW so we went on it in the front row. Awesome smooth ride, but Jason got a headache from it. Then we went to AER, walk-on for last row! On the first drop, I usually get some airtime, but at first I didn't really get any, then all of a sudden in the middle of the drop I FLEW into the air, and that scared the crap out of me... but it was awesome. Great ride, although Jason didn't have too much fun on it, he doesn't really like woodies.

Then we went on Demon again. Yellow train last row. He REALLY liked this ride. Heh. I got a headache, kinda rough ride. I told him how bad I wanted to go on Vu, but he wanted to see it cycle before getting in line. So we stood there for probably 5 minutes and then got in line. 20 minute wait for 1B. Sweet ride! Totally awesome... I went to get my 2005 seas pass coupon book. Then we went on Whizzer again, great ride. I wanted to ride TP because I missed it over the offseason. It was a really awesome ride.

Then we went back over to Raging Bull, I seriously needed another ride on it. One train wait for row 8. Awesome ride, we could have stayed on, but I wasn't sure if he wanted to. We went on GD again, and same thing as this morning, it felt way more forceful than it usually does. It was an awesome feeling.

Back over to Vu, I had to ride it at least one or two more times. Went on in back row, walk on pretty much. It's so awesome in back row, I need to ride it more often but I'm too attached to the front row, heh. With 10 minutes left we ended the night with row 1A, last train of the night. Another really awesome ride. As the ride was going back down the first tower, I was thinking Man, I should yell out for one more ride. Next thing I know, everyone on the train is chanting for one more ride. They actually let us all re-ride! It was so awesome. Great way to end the day. Today was really, really awesome. Bad thing was I got car sick on the way home for some odd reason.

Hey, Congrats for getting on Dare-Devil Dive.
I have not had the chance (or the money) to try it yet.

Sounds as if Giant Drop has been much better this year.
I hope it is running good over Memorial Day when I get to go for the first time this year.
I love it when they let you re-ride!

I almost rode Dare Devil Dive last year on a whim but didn't (money reasons too). Would you comair it to any rollercoaster? Oh, and I see tons of people have trouble pulling the rip cord, in fact my friends couldn't get it right for about 3 seconds one day. I hear it's scary because your hanging face down right over the access road.

well good job with the dare devil dive thing. I've always wanted to go on it, but I never bring enough money to the park with me. I'm assuming Jason liked Deja Vu right? That's good.

I also almost rode it last year as well, but didn't due money reasons. As for comparing it to any coaster, I don't know... It was freaky going upward and sitting up there... The first "drop" was pretty intense and after that it was a bit boring. After the first 5 seconds, it's not really as exciting as most coasters are. Yeah, hanging face down over the access road is really scary, but fun. The falling part is probably the scariest, but it's definitely fun.

I suppose he liked Vu. He definitely prefered the front row rather than back row, which I found interesting. It gave him a headache after 3 rides in a row though. He said that his favorite ride was Whizzer.

Yeah, It didn't look like he enjoyed the back row. I could tell.

It was nice seeing you and Jason, Amber. Good TR!

I got to do it last year, not worth the $10 in my opinion (I even got to pull the ripcord). It's just like a giant swing. No biggie.

I remember my first DDD ride.

The cord was caught, meaning I was face down looking at the road, by myself, for 30 minutes before it snapped...ugggh!

I remember doing DDD last year and w/e they called their skycoaster at SFStL this year. The worst part for me is being lifted up and pulling the ripcord. I can't stand when you get to the top because you will bounce there for awhile.
Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro
Top 5 Steel- 5-Velocicoaster 4- Maverick 3- Fury 325 2-Steel Vengeance 1-X2
Coaster Count: 444
