I realize that you guys want to keep the forum clean and organized, but is there a reason why proper spelling and grammar is so criticized in this forum? Yes, I realize that, at times, bad grammar is annoying--but when you're just typing a quick statement in a forum, not many people pay much attention to grammar. I don't know, I guess it just seems silly to make such a big deal about it.
And another thing--I've noticed that many people will make a topic, and then have that topic get deleted, just because someone mentioned something about that topic in another thread. Not only does it get locked or deleted, but it seems as if the Mods and other Forum members act very rudely to someone who does that. Can't we all just understand that this is an online forum, and it shouldn't be taken that seriously?
So, am I going to get yelled at? That's my guess.. but mind you, I'm just asking why..not complaining.
We, as MODS, will only delete or lock a thread if the thread shows blatant disregard for the search feature, or the thread contains inappropriate material. We try and keep a clean forum clear of repeat threads (it gets annoying answering the same question 5 times in 1 week, or dealing with 5 different Hurricane Harbor threads) for simplicity and appeal. If a thread gets locked or deleted the Mod had a good reason to do so, we just don't fool around with our admin powers.
As for grammar and spelling, we've been very lenient over the off season with regards to grammar and spelling. Using proper grammar and spelling should always be used because it makes your point seem more valid and makes posts easier to read. This forum is not a chat room or an instant messaging service, so why type on it like it is? The internet age has lead to a lot of laziness when it comes to using proper grammar while typing, and we would just like to keep a forum that you can read a coherent conversation on.
Which argument seems more valid to you?
“i went 2 sfgam tuday and i got smeo awesome pixxxx……..it looks like rb is finally runnin 3 trains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Or
“I went to Six Flags today, and I got some awesome pictures. It looks like Raging Bull is finally running 3 trains! “
Again, Dave (Coasterdude316) runs the website and he also makes the rules. He can ammend them at any time as he feels fit. The way we have the rules right now seems to work, and most members follow them without any problems. Rarely do we have to act to enforce the rules or post 'Mod Notes' to threads.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Well, yeah. I know that it's not hard to do. I don't personally ever have problems. It just seems like I've seen a lot of people be humiliated just because they don't spell something right.
But yeah, all of what you [aero737] said makes sense.
We don't try and make people feel bad. I rarely put MOD Notes on peoples posts unless it's been a chronic problem. In that case, it needs to be brought to that members attention.
Well, they usually post Mod Notes in the post that is hard to read because of poor grammer. The point of a forum is able to communicate and chat with people you usually don't know, and when the communication is poor, no one gets anywhere.
DejaVu "So in short, good communication is vital." The Ride
you think this site is bad? I left coasterbuzz becasue Jeff picks at everylittle thing. He would probably ban me becasue I forgot to capitalize the 'y' in you at the beginning of this post. Trust me, the mods here are nice compared to a lot of other sites.
