After browsing RCDB.COM a little while one night, i came across some of the oddest names for a Roller Coasters in the United States. Now im not saying these rides are bad, or done ride them. No way in fact a few of these rides i have ridden myself. But, these names are just plain odd.
Ant Farm Express- Vekoma Jr. Coaster located at Wild Advenutres in Valdosta, GA.
Sure this is a kiddie ride after-all, but with a coaster whose trains look like Shoes have a name Ant Farm Express?
BORG Assimilator-Vekoma Flyer located at Paramount's Carowinds in Charlotte, NC
Now, im not a Treky in any streatch of the imagination, but the name BORG Assimilator? was that really the best PCW could have come up with? This name would have been ideal for a 3D show or something. But for a coaster? How about something like Star Trek: Space Flight or something like that?
Cornball Express- CCI Wooden Coaster located at Indiana Beach in Monticello, IN
This ride is awesome, great airtime, great ride all around, in fact one of my favorite woodies. But Cornball Express? What exactly is a cornball? i have heard of a popcorn ball, but cornball?
Disaster Transport-Intamin Bobsled Coaster located at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH
This ride makes the list because an apperent lack of theming. The que line has some elaborate assembly line scene. But the ride its self while in my opinion is good. I dont see any disaster going on here. Think about it, Disaster Transport, thats an awesome name for maybe some 7 inversion floorless or a 300 foot Giga but for a kiddie bobsled?
Judge Roy Scream- Wooden Coaster located at Six Flags over Texas in Arlington, TX.
Who exactly is Judge Roy? is there a story behind the name? Did Judge & Roy design this coaster no. Rosser & Cobb did. Whats the deal here?
Raging Wolf Bobs- Wooden Coaster located at Geuaga Lake in Aurora, OH.
Drop off the "bobs" and its a pretty awesome name for a coaster. Raging Wolf, pretty cool although its kind of a rip off of. Raging Bull
Colossus the Fire Dragon-Schwarzkopf / Double Looper Located at Lagoon in Farmington, UT
This takes the cake as the most oddly named Coaster. Why? take a look at the pictures of this ride. Im sure its an awesome ride but, I dont see anything remotely close to anything resembling a dragon here.
Honorable Mentions:
Chang- Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom
T2- Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom
Tig'rr- Indiana Beach
Magnum XL-200- Cedar Point
Lil Shaver- Camp Snoopy
These are just a few of the oddly named Coasters around the world. Theres nothing wrong with these coasters, just a unique name. And thats why they make this list.
What are your thoughts about some of these odd ball names? Tell us here.
I too went with Ant Farm Express. That's definately a wierd one.
I always though Son Of Beast was a stupid name. Yeah, there is a story/theme that goes with it, but come on. Son Of Beast? That's the best they could do??
Although Cornball Express is an awesome ride filled with airtime, the name is weird, Ive heard it called the corndog express too, but i guess it goes with the "Theres More Than Corn In Indiana" slogan.

Actually, i just looked for Coasters in the US. I figured a World Wide Count would take too long and give me too many rides. Also, it took me 4 days to post this topic anyway, the web page kept timing out.
I put Colossus the Fire Dragon. Man 1 coaster with the name that has the name of two different current roller coasters.(Colossus- SFMM, Thorpe Park Fire dragon of the Dueling Dragons- IOA)
Well, the oddest name I've come across is Hundeprut at BonBon Land. Translated to English, it's called the Dog Fart Switchback, fom pics I've seen it has a rather large squatting dog positioned over the rides enterance. That park is high on my list of things to do

If it was worldly, I'd vote for that. But alas, Galvan has a life and didn't have time to include the whole world , so my vote went to that one with the judge, even if it was named after someone, no one would know who it was named after unless they were involved with the park in some way, or a coaster enthusiast who spends too much time on the net.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
Hundeprut exists, look it up on RCDB and do a google search, it will come up in various trip reports (along with alot of dirty humor and cartoon nudity throughout the park)

In 1999 they were supposed to convert T2 to Batman the Ride. I don't know what happened after that, because it's still named T2. And on the 1999 park map it says new in 1999 Batman the Ride, and it has a picture of T2.

uh, t2= terror to the second power chang=means fear in chineese
Uh, i knew that but think about it Chinese in Kentucky, that doesnt really sound all that right. And as for T2 "Terror to the Second Power?" give me a break.
with perfect timing, I actually got a BonBonLand TR with Hinderput descriptions, that I am posting to the TR forum. It's a good read, has piss ant's, the farting dog and everything.
