geez, I8LAFF, bein a little harsh there aren't ya? James did have a sense of humor. I only saw David do the show once, but he was funny too. He does really care, and if his jokes were really bad, then why did everyone laugh at them? If you've got such a harsh opinion, then can ya please keep it to yourself????
As for as the Snow Making bit. It was done again because everyone seems to like the snow making bit. I went to the show a couple of times and I tell you when the snow fell every kid were amazed and then every one clapped. Also, SFGAM uses a real snow making machine. Not some foam soap snow that you see at a lots of places.
LAFFfan4lyfe, I wasn't aware that this was the sunshine and lollipops page. I thought I could post my opinion here just like everyone else. Carlo, if you had ever been snowed on at the the Grand Music Hall, you'd be well aware that they do in fact use the foam snow things. If you don't have any real facts to post here, to quote LAFFfan, could you please keep them to yourself? The snow bit when Drew did it made sense, even if the script was a little iffy. When Brandon did it, it didn't make sense at all. He was hot? Then he made it snow? Why? I'm not saying it wasn't good for the masses, but I know the park can do better. I'm saying that the park should be allowed to produce it's own shows again.
Oh, and when I said that We Got The Beat was the worst show ever, I was taking in to account the quality of the Animal Show years one and a half, American Rock 1 and 2, and that piece of garbage Radioactive. I've seen all the shows there for almost ten years, so I think I'm able to offer qualified opinions on all of them.
Anyone else?
A lot of us have been going to the park and possibly seeing the shows there there whole life. You're not the only one who's allowed to rate their shows. I know I've been seeing shows there my whole life.
"I wasn't aware that this was the sunshine and lollipops page" It's also not the "Insult fellow Posters Page." He has an opinoin, you have an opinoin, calm down.
And someone said earlier that shows don't attract anyone to the park. First of all, they do. The only way i could get some of my friends to go to SF during FF was for LAFF. And you can't say "Shows suck, No one goes" that's not true, a lot of people fo to shows. Especially kids, and that really doesn't fit with the family atmosphere.
coastercrazy111 wrote:If you think about it not everyone goes to Great America for the rides. What if your mom, or grandma, or someone like that doesn't even like the rides? What are they supposed to do? Just walk around and stare at the pavement? No, they go see the shows. Not only is it a chance to get off of their feet for a while, it is entertaining. The shows are there to continue the family atmosphere of the park. For some guests seeing a show such as the World Of Magic, Espana Extreme, makes their day much more enjoyable. Even I like to see the shows. It gives me something to do when the lines get too long, or when it gets really hot out and I want to get into the air conditioning. So having the shows has more positive effects on the park then it does negative.
Considering my faimily is half across the world. i doubt my grandparents will be coming over to visit great america any time soon. as for my mum, she wont go near the park
Ha Ha, Well Shockwave I guess that doesn't go for very person then. LOL
Oh, Ih8LAFF um, I am in no way against you putting your opinions in these forums, but on this site we don't talk trash to other members. We all get along with each other on this site and don't need people like you who will crash every single thing we said just because you have nothing better to do. I mean to come on this site being as new as you are, and talking trash to us, people who have belonged to this website for years is just not right. So unless you don't have anything nice to say most of us would really appreciate it if you didn't say anything at all. Thank you.
Well, everyone, I'd like to point out that I didn't talk trash about anyone. I posted my opinion, and was told to keep it to myself, since I wasn't posting something happy about the park. And having little seniority on a web site doesn't mean that my thoughts aren't as valid, unless I was posting about said website.
I didn't see anywhere that I should only post nice things. If you all don't agree with what I've said, that's totally fine. It doesn't mean that I'm insulting anybody. If that's how you take it, then that's your deal.
Just a question to Ih8LAFF. Why is it that in your name, it sounds like you hate LAFF, but then you say you like LAFF. I'm just wondering.
Also, SFFT must be doing something right because it has won many awards for their amazing shows. Maybe SfGam could get some hints from them.(Even though I liked 2004's shows, I think they can be better.)
It's all good. Sorry if I came on a little strong. I just miss the Warner Brothers days of shows there.
As for LAFF, I think it's a perfect show for that venue at that time of the year. It's campy, and doesn't take itself too seriously. It's not a show that I would just go to watch if it didn't have the park during fright fest to surround it, but I think it's great for families. Also, the production quality of it only seems to go up every year, unlike some of the other recurring shows there at the park.
Am I really the only one who feels that the park has and can do better than crappy magic shows sometimes?
Ih8LAFF, I have to agree with you SFGAM can do better on some shows. Like the Looney Tunes one could be replaced with something better, the show at the Pictorium could be a little better, but the Magic show was great. Being a magician myself, I like it alot. But that is your opinion and I respect that. Being a magician for over 7 years I have learned to take criticism both good and bad, the only reason I said what I said was because I just didn't like the way you presented yourself on that particular post. But don't worry it's all good now, and I hope that the grudge can be over and I look forward to seeing your future posts. Thanks Dude!
that's the same thing i was sayin coastercrazy111. I think they can do better in some aspects of the shows, but I think some shows are great. I think after two years, they can get a new show in the Southwest Ampitheater (prolly spelled that wrong), maybe they can put a batman and robin show in there like several people have been sayin. theater royale should stay a place for kiddie shows, because they have a little less room to work with. I think the Grand Music Hall should have a musical show, or some big show there, since it has extra room and the cat walk. I like the bands at the Mardi Gra stage, and DJ Bob and DJ Mike are entertaining while u are eating lunch at farmer's market.
Having been involved in theatre for much of my life I must say that although the actors they pull in aren't exactly the best, they have some of the greatest venues around. Have you seen their lighting equipment! Some professional theatres dont even have that much to work with.
I like the idea of a show that stays on for while, like LAFF. But the Pictorium and other stages have been lacking for quite some time. The hypnotist and the random magicians they keep pulling in are amusing to the masses, it works, so they keep doing it, that makes sense.
However, these looney tunes character shows get worse and worse. They don't need to sing and dance. Kids attention spans aren't THAT bad. Do a few skits like the tv shows for pete's sake.
For the smaller stages that have DJ's, Bands, and Jugglers, SF is doing a great job of keeping them around. Its something you can look at for a little bit and walk away, a shorter rest. You don't feel like you have to stay and watch the whole thing and usually they have the most talent...hint hint nudge nudge brian ingrid micheal cough cough...
The Ampitheatre is in great need of a show that gets people in. I never see those bleachers full anymore. The batman stunt show was amazing. It was relevant to the park and it got audiences.
I think Six Flags needs to sit back and think about what the park was named for. Great America was a THEME park back in the day, that title of theme park is fading, a new show relevant to the theme of great america or the theme of warner brothers could help our beloved park get back on its foundation.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
I couldn't agree with you more on all the points you made. Very perceptive! I think it's too bad that there is nowhere guests can post ideas about what they'd like to see there. There are some really good ones floating around out there!

If you guys are referring to my guest relations(or services?), then here is my explanation.
That is where you can post ideas about what shows they want to see.
I think they can put some magicians here, and also to put some looney toones at the front of the park. Let them active more then now it's. Let the people be involved in the show- that would build some excatiment in shows. Let the kids dance with looney toones.
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!
