7/23/03 Lots-a-people

Let us know how your day at the park was.

Kinda a spur of the moment trip, I got off work at one, picked everyone up, and we were gone. Got to the park at 3:30 to find that the overflow lot was half full. We decided to take a very far parking spot in the middle of nowhere because we were in no hurry.Waited 10 min to get in the park and it was PACKED! We didn't know what to do, so we went to Batman. Line was comming out of the GCPW switchbacks. The line moved fast though and it only lasted 40 min. Great back row ride. Fast.We went to AE and the line was out of the tent (no switchbacks though). We got on and for some reason nobody was riding the Blue Train. The line was only 1/2 up the stairs. We were going ride red, but hopped on blue instead. It was fun, slow near the end.Well we were going to check out DeJaVu and hit the demon, but every switchback on the demon was filled and the line was spilling out. We sat and watched DeJaVu test for about an hour. We really wern't motivated to ride anything. We rode Skytreck Tower just for the heck of it. Afterwards we rode the train all around the park to buy time till 6pm. We went to the IMax theater to watch Adreanaline (sp?) Rush. Kinda boring..more like a history channel program. We headed over to V2. The lines were getting shorter but not by much. All of V2's line was filled except for the bridge. Good ride, still my favorite ride. Toobad the ride-ops always staple me in (ouch). It was now 8pm, and we went to raging bull. Earlier all the switchbacks were open and the line was spilling onto the midway, but now they closed a few. Bad thing happened in the station. The redtrain arrived covered in puke (compleatly). It smelled and was running onto the track and station. They cycled the ride to get everyone off, and closed it down for about 15 min. In that time 5 ride ops worked to clean up the train. It was very unpleasent...We got our ride at about 9:30 on the blue train. We headed over to S:UF to end the night, and had to do some quick running through the parade. Got there at about 10PM. We got our backrow ride at about 10:20. Took us 20 min to get from SUF to our car.Not the best day. DeJaVu was testing a lot. (Full tests from about 4-6). There was 6-10 people working on it today. Lots of activity on the towers and above the station. The park was too full to be enjoyable today.

Nice TR. Sounds like you had an ok day except for the crowds. You said that Demons swithcbacks were full, did that include the switchbacks riht by the station becuase I never saw it like that? Also ,were both queue houses open for RB?

Yes the switchbacks by the station were full. We saw it from the train and were glad we didn't ride. Raging bull had both switchback houses full. It was a day of long lines.

Strange, I found this image today and saved it so I could use it some other time (I thought it might be months) and viola, today is the day.

What's even funnier is the fact that this thread is for 7/23/03, and the date on the rcdb trip report that mr. dejavu posted is for 7/26/03. Good job man.

If it's hosted by your own server we usually don't mind. It's when you leach images off other sites, that we usually remove the images or when were not sure it's on your own server.

Well if this thread says one thing....it's that the offseason is only a month and a half old.
