Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Now that we're in off-season, and SFGAm will be getting its water park for 2005, what coaster, if any, do you think it will/should get next?

I hope they would get the ten loop coaster by Vekoma, which includes a launch. I think they would tear down Iron Wolf and the Picnic Grove
I'd rather be riding the Voyage

Personally, none. We have the best coaster selection in our back door, knocking waiting for imporvements other than coasters. Right now, all the park needs is improvements that will make guest satisfaction go up, that is why I believe mangement chose Huricane Harbor over A new coaster. Six Flags Great America is a park that allways comes up with a new inovative idea...aka Batman, not the inverted par but the idea of extreme themeing in a regional park! Sadly, most of the themeing doesn't excist anymore, for example: The bikes, Fan effects, Graffitti, and the list goes on. I would not want them to install a rollercoaster with low themeing like Superman, I rather have no coaster at all then one like Superman. With every enw coaster installation I have seen decline in the parks atmosphere, this year bein an exception. Six Flags Huricane Harbor and Six Flags Great America should see much more imporvement this year than last, allways room to grow, and the only way to do that is to think you are doing it wrong, not everyone else.

PS. Shocker, I guarentee you do not want another Vekoma.

Maybe in a few years after the water park has developed, I would like to see a water coaster. Even though I haven't been on one, Journey to Atlantis at sea world looks like an awesome ride, and I think it would be really cool to have one at HH. Would that add to the coaster count at GAm though?

(I think? :) ) Six Flags Great America will add a prototype from B&M in 2006.

^^ Ehhh, after our experience with Deja Vu, I don't know that SFGAm will take a risk on another prototype (even if it is from B&M) anytime soon.

I, personally, hope their next coaster (if they ever do get one) is a floorless for three reasons:

1) The park has long had an excellent rapport with Bolliger and Mabillard - its four B & M coasters are tied with SFGAdv for most in any one park.

2) A floorless would complete the line-up of B & M's most popular coaster styles - Stand-up, Inverted, Speed, Flyer, and Floorless.

3) A floorless would fill the exact niche that SFGAm currently doesn't have: a multi-inversion (six or more) coaster. Let's look at it like this: nowhere in the park is there a diving loop; there is a cobra roll, but the coaster that has it (Deja Vu) has had numerous problems from day one. Remember, SFGAdv and SFMM had their mega-loopers for at least 10 years (SFGAdv for exactly 10, SFMM for 13) when they got their floorlesses. If the new coaster can go over just fine for a park that already has a mega-looper, how well do you think it will be accepted in one that doesn't?

I would not ride the Ten Looping Coaster from Vekoma. Seeing as SHOCKWAVE had 7 Loops. and I blacked out on that ride. Which added More Injury To Shockwaves Report. Shockwave had a big list of Complaints and Injury. Once you Get between the 2nd and 3rd loop i blacked out along with 2 others on the same coaster. Shockwave was the WORST rollercoaster. Thank god it got torn down.

so ya, if they built the Ten Looping Coaster, I wouldnt Ride it

I think Six flags should Try more coasters from Vekoma. But this time they should buy JUST 1 and test it. make sure it works. That was there mistake when they bought De Ja Vue from Vekoma. They built one at SFGA one at SFMM and one at SFGAdv and one Over seas.

If they would have bought just 1 they would have saved money.

I do know 1 thing. Six flags Doesnt pay for REpairs of ANYKIND on De Ja Vue. Vekoma wont charge them any repair or replacement because they want Six Flags to keep the coaster..(from news article about six flags and De Ja Vue, Sept 04)

FLOORLESS Coaster would be excelante coaster for 2006 seson why?:
1. Floorless would similar to !Scream!- but not exactly- MEGA FUN
2. This mega coaster would BRING more PEOPLE to SF which means MORE of the cool stuff, MONEY!
3. Because of #2 there would a chance to get new ride for 2007! seson
4. A perfect Era for SFGAm:
2001- Vertical Velocity
2001- DejaVu
2003- Superman- The Ultimate Flight
2004- Rangin' Cajnu
2006- NEW RIDE

Well when you take 6 years and divide by 5 coasters, you get:
1,2 coaster per season! That's like one NEW coaster per season!

Well, back to topic I Choose Floorless- It's great!

I think the direction that B&M is going with roller coasters lately (Hydra's Revenge, Sheikra) if SFGAm got a floorless it wouldn't be like Scream! which would be ideal. The 7 inversion format has really been beaten to death through the past 10 years, so if SFGAm does get a floorless I hope for something inventive.

Believe me. SfGam would be stupid to put in a Scream/ Medusa clone. First, it's unoriginal. Second, the ride is very spread out and would take a lot more space than what's needed. Third, the park could do better.

after getting V2 and Supers, I'd say its very possible that we'd get a clone. its probably a 50/50 chance that we'll get a clone or an original. and after Hydra I'd guess that if SFGA went for an original that we'd get something inventive.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

I am so ticked off right now, after viewing the themeing on Superman in Six Flags Mexico I got angry because here in the States we have a park that is known to get what it wants, and made me why...why did they not theme the ride, like they are known to theme. For example Batman, Giant Drop, Viper, and American Eagle. What things do Batman and Superman have in comon? First off, they both are super hero themes. Next they both are from B&M. Following that Jim Wintrode was General Manger during both projects. Next they both are short intense rides. Following, the music gets you ready for the ride, gets your blood pumping. The key differences...First ONe is an invert, and the other is a flyer. Second theming..one has a geat deal of it, the other doesnt. Why is that such a big deal? Believe it or not themeing plays tricks on your mind making you believe things that arent really happening. Like batman for instance your are being taken into the sewers and up to the batcave...Most people ctually feel like they are there. Whereas superman a few superman logos, a few sighns, and music and Premier Parks thought they had a highly themed ride.
Jim Wintrode was General Manger during both projects.
After all the times I talked to Mr Wintrode I came to the assumptions he loved Highly themed rides and wanted more of them, but why superman being low themed? Why? What I can not seem to find is a logical reason, because the Amusment Industry "Anything is possible," and that is extremly true at Six Flags Great America.

BTW this is a Theme Park, not an Amusment Park like Cedar Point.

look at my name what coaster do u think we should get. of course it should be a floorless like scream or like hydra except a little longer or we could even get a dive machine like ShEiKRa at busch gardens tampa. a 4d would be nice but that was the last coaster that Arrow aka S&S Power has made and they might be a little rusty making another extrordinary ride
http://rctgrotto.coastergrotto.com/file.jsp?argId=76 my first rct3 park. its ok but please try it.

B&M makes 4d's? I thought Arrow / S&S made them? Anyway, I think a 4D is coming.

B&M has been highly rumored to be creating a 4D of their own. Hey, they even made a train for X after one of the others tore itself apart.

I think Six Flags should build a Spongebob 3D or even a 4D Ride! and they should build a hotel there so the people can just sleep there and then just wake up and go to the park! (we'll the hotel should be in the park almost like waht disneyworld does.) :D

I second Sireze, although I don't think anyone but kids would like a Spongebob 3D very much... I really hope, though, at some point we get a really great dark ride (more along the lines of a Men In Black at Universal Orlando, or maybe something like Spiderman at IOA), it's one of the last things our park doesn't have that a good themepark should.

I'm agreeing with Dave on this one. What's the point of getting a coaster if it's not themed. Have any of you SEEN the themieing for Superman: Ultimito Escape at SF Mexico? It's crazy! It's something you all would of loved to have on SUF. A coaster isn't a coaster without theming.

Back on topic.

I would love to see a floorless. Just so we get some more inversions up the the park, and hopefully an awesome layout and THEMING to go with it to. As for the B&M 4D? If it came out I'd expect we would be getting one, but none of us know about no B&M 4D.......
