Run! Run! The off-season is coming!

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby DejaVu The Ride on November 1st, 2004, 6:30 pm
Six Flags Great America Closing Day(Read me....)

Date: Sunday October 31, 2004
Weather: Chilly with light winds and clouds
Who: Me, DejaVuGurl1203, LAFFfun4lyfe, and Loveatfirstfright03
Time in park: 9:30am-8:35pm
Crowds: Light(For the most part)
Rides closed(For the day): Condor, All water rides, Jester's Wild Ride, Trailblazer, Sky Trek Tower

Ok, so I got to the park at 9:30 and knew it would be a great day. I got right in and went over to the Hometown Sqaure bridge to wait for the chain to drop. While there I noticed someone talking about pain and Wisconsin so yep, I got to meet Woodland and his friend.(How were the shorts treating you after 5:00?)

So at 10 the chains were dropped and I ran to Raging Bull. I was like the 5th person there, but due to a group of many line jumpers, I was pushed back to like #12 or 13. So I headed to the back row to get the 2nd train of the day with Woodland and his friend. Bull was running all 3 trains to start off. While leaving the station, I saw Dave and Mike.(Who were skillfully pointed out to me by Woodland.) Oh yeah and I met two more coaster(or LAFF) enthusiasts.(aka Ally and Krystal.) The LAFF freaks. :D So after our ride, we(minus Woodland) went over to ride Hellevator. It was a walk-on and would be Ally's first time on it. She loved it as did I.

After that, we went to ride Viper, which was a walk-on. The first row was only going every other train, so I went to row 3 and Ally and Krystal were in rows 4 and 5 behind me. It was running great! It was just a little loud.
The Orbit was next, and it was a walk-on. I love this ride, and yes, it does go vertical FYI.

Demon was next. It was running red and yellow and was a walk-on. I rode in 6:1 and had an awesome ride. Right before I boarded I got a phone call. It was Amber.(DejaVuGurl1203) We met up with her and decided to take another Demon ride. Again, almost a walk-on(Like it was all day) and an awesome ride in row 6:1.

After that, we headed over to the Whizzer because I noticed it had a short line(From the Demon). It was only a 5 minute wait and we all somehow got on the same train. While on the brake run, I noticed DejaVu began testing.) We all got excited and decided to get there as fast as possible. We got there first, right before the line began to form. While in line, I saw Brad, Nolan, Woodland again, and others. I was also shown who HolyDumb was and who Andrew(a former ride op) was. We also met a couple of enthusiasts whom I have already talked to at the park. They were trying to get us to go to the back row. Yeah right.

It eventually tested more and opened around noon. Amber and I got first dispatch in row 1A and Ally and Krystal got 1B. The ride was running fantastic! I like how it holds you for a couple seconds at the top of the first tower now. But sometimes it didn't do that. The line was already at the exit now, so we didn't get a second ride. It also seemed to run most, if not all of the day.FYI, I saw Dave and Mike again at the exit of DejaVu.

Next up was AER. The line for row 1 would have been 5 minutes, but it turned into a 10 minute wait because it got stuck on the lift it. Then we were off. Red was running great and was very smooth. Awesome. Next was AEB which was a complete walk-on. I rode in the normal front row and had an awesome ride, until the end. The brakes before the last helix really grabbed the train and we almost stopped. We slowly inched down into the helix and just barely made it up into the brakes. Who knows what was up.

After that, we headed over to Revolution where we were greeted with a 1 cycle wait. The ride is running a very powerful cycle and I had a great ride! Too bad Ally didn't though. Iron Werewolf was next and it had about a 10 minute wait for row1. They were stacking badly. But it was an excellent ride! 2 trains running as usual.

Next, we decided to go through Necropolis. The added a lot, even for the last day!(or maybe weekend.) I noticed a lot of new monsters today. They were wearing old torn up and bloody Six Flags employee shirts. Hey, they must have been employees. :) I got to meet Necropolis GD and Big Mike(who was awesome.) Too bad the twins weren't there today.(Or were you guys on break for both times we went through?)

Next, we wanted to ride Batman, but the line was to the main entrance to Gothom City park. So we hit V2 next and waited about 25 minutes for the back row. I like the height in the back, so it was a great ride. Did they just recently add a front row line sign? It said something about the wait time being significantly longer. So after that, we went to go and eat at Angelos. I had the pasta deal and stacked my plate(well almost.) And hey, I ate it all!

After that, we saw Batmans line to be shorter, so we hopped in line. It was about 30 minutes for the front row. We saw Woodland again in line. The ride was fantastic as always! Next up was Ragin' Cajun. It was only using 1 1/2 switchbacks so it was only a 15 minute line. 5 cars were running and I saw the op that thinks I am crazy. So we rode and had a pretty spinny ride, and then we stopped at the final block brake before the bunny hill. They had a blocking error and after 30 seconds, were were released and barely finished the course. It was still a great ride though.

Next was King Chaos which we only waited one cycle for. We got 5 flips and had an extremely fun ride. It doesn't hurt as much as it use to either. After that we dashed over to LAFF. We got there 25 minutes early and got in 15 minutes early. We were right in front of the catwalk! They show was a lot of fun and after it, we split from Ally and Krystal because they had to see Josh, I mean LAFF one more time.

Night was now upon us.

So Amber and I went over to ride Viper. It had about a 15-20 minute wait for row 1:3. The op was very funny and was trying to scare people.(It was the same op that I had at Terror Twister last Saturday.) I love how in row 1:3, the bars don't go down as far as they should. We got mega, but safe :) airtime.

Next was Raging Bull where the line was into the first queue house. It was only a 20 or so minute wait for the front row. The crew was awesome!(The line was walk-on for most of the day though.) Next(After an incident with the stupid rent-a-cops) we went to ride Hellevator. It was a 10 minute wait. When we went to ride, a stupid operator(who will remain nameless) shoved the harness into me and said "Happy Halloween" and laughed. If I had time and if I was a mean person, I would have given his name to Guest Relations.

Next, we were going to ride Revolution, but it was closed. So we had an awesome walk-on ride on Iron Wolf. They really had the fog turned up in Necropolis, because most of Iron Wolf was in fog! :D I also saw Zjohn in the station.(Working.)

We went through Necropolis once again and said hey to Tafaba again. The security guard also scared us(even though he wasn't trying.) He also scared the group behind us. :D

Amber and I went to ride Batman again and waited a few minutes for the front row. Great ride! Superman was next, and it only had a 15 minute wait for the back row! The pretzel was insane as always!

We ran over to DejaVu to get one last ride for 2004! We saw the parade on the way. BRRRR it's cold out here, there must be monsters in the atmosphere. :D We got to DejaVu and waited a total of 40 minutes for the second to last ride in the back row. While near close, we heard the park closing spiel and heard the 15 minute one, the 10 minute one, and the park is now closed one. All in 1 minute! We also saw Dave and Jim(Mike  ) again. I also talked to some other enthusiasts in our row line. The one guy got on the last ride for the Flyers at PKI.

Jeff's Random notes
1. Who wasn't at the park? :)
2. The wavepool is very small.
3. The season pass line was very long.
4. DejaVu's lift motor was making a weird noise.
5. DejaVu was using the "fastlane" entrance at the end of the day.
6. It is very sad to see all the garbage cans flipped over and grouped together.(You all know what that means.)
7. I'm the off-season, Run!(What I was saying to Amber. :D
8.SSR is the best!
9. I was Ride op for a day. (DejaVu)
10. Loggers Run had a little bit of water flowing down the drop.
11. I thought the dead guy on the Wilderness Theater stage was tight.
12. This is going to be a long off-season.
13. 20 Days!(Notice lucky #13. )
14. I liked the parade song that I heard.

It was a great day, I had an awesome time. I forgot AER broke down until I read your TR. Viper was awesome, I got so much airtime. That was funny when the guy stapled you on Hellevator, he almost did that to me.

Wow, that is weird. I was on the same train as you! In front of you guys! I was on the second train, in second to last row! :) Teal train, wasn't it? Lots of enthusiasts on that ride! :) I was wearing a black Raging Bull sweatshirt, we also yelled Happy Halloween at the top of the lift, before the drop! :)

Read the post again Mike...he said "another day". :)

It was nice to meet you Deja Vu The Ride, although I had no idea who you were. It's very odd when people come up to you and know your name and you have no idea who they are heh.

Hey, I was on the teel train in the middle, not sure what row. I heard some people yell Happy Halloween. That craked me up. It was cold on that ride.
