yes, i love the security guards to death... they are usually there (and when they aren't they have a good reason), and once you start to talk to them, you see that they're all really nice people... i worked up by the insane assylum, so there were times when we were pretty empty and i got a chance to talk to a few of them... one of them (debbie) and i got to be friends, and i even got her to scare a good amount of people! it was amazing... and they do try to look out for the characters. the only time that there isn't a character in the area is when there's an emergency somewhere else (i.e. the amazing amount of passing out in the sideshow, the broken neck/seizure incident in the mausoleum, and during the police incident with the pepper spray... i can safely say that more than once a security guard has wrestled some horny little boy or the "hero" guy that comes through regularly...
another thing... PLEASE understand that if you tap me on the shoulder to get my attention, i WILL tell you not to touch the characters... i understand that you don't mean any harm by it, but if we don't say something there are plenty of people who will smack us in the back of the head, and i'm just making sure that you don't pull anything on any of the other characters. i have respect for my fellow "employees" and don't want anything to happen to them...

yes, and for the sake of amusing storyk that somewhat fits with the theme... i saw these kids poking james the bush, and as soon as he said no, they went after him some more... like visious little kid poking... the mom stood by laughing and watching them, so i figured asking her to do something about it would be a waste of time, so i shook my head and told the boy that "thouching the characters is a quick way to get yourself kicked out of the park"... needless to say he didn't listen and started poking me violently... i know i probably shouldn't have, but i kinda tapped his and away (not hard mind you) but i just wanted to get it thought that he can't do that.... this was saturday, so we were all pretty high strung anyways... but the mother walks up, and starts yelling saying that i have a bad attitude, and have no right to talk like that to anyone... she says that her kids can do whatever they want, and that they were just having a good time... she then tells me that she's a detective for the chicago police department and can get me arrrested... then threatens to talk to my supervisor, i tell her that she can go ahead if she can find him (which i senserely meant)... anyways, i followed her out, and didn't see her again... i'm sure that if i had something would have happened

I went this past Sat. and I was just wondering which character you were... also I would have to agree with you that the park was overrun with punk kids who were VERY disrespectful to the characters and talents (e.g. some kid who cussed out a clown with a large mallot for no joke 20 minutes and gathered quite a crowd and there was even a Mom who flipped out on this troll who just joking around) I'm sorry that you guys went out there to make the atmosphere a fun and spooky place and some people have be juerks and ruin it. I would just like everyone who played a chracter during this past fright fest that some people out there really appreciate and enjoy what you do.

yea, i heard about that from one o my friends, he got hit by some of that there spray, i felt sooo sorry for him. well, at least they caught some of the ppl. gosh i hope that doesnt happen again.
Well they come tell there little story on how they get poked all the time and its getting really old and theres been about 3 or so topics with there poking stories.
Maybe there are just trying to make people aware of how rude some people can be... I know it's made me appreciate them more.... I'm glad they shared their poking story cause it certainly made me more understanding. I'm sure if people came to your job and started harrassing you you would have something to say about it as well.

I really don't know, but everytime one of the fright fest characters talks about their day, they talk about how they got beat on all the time, but other than the pepper spray incident, which I agree is VERY stupid and should've never been done, nobody has been physically assaulted out there. It just seems to be overexaggerated a teeny little bit.
Also, some of you fright fest workers need to work on grammar, it's a headache to try to decipher all of those shortened words. Please make this site better by making your posts easier to read. Thanks.

And, for the record, one of the trolls DID get assaulted. Filth got hit in the head by some nut who took a five step run and a windup to do it too. We had his pass pulled, blacklisted, and told he would be arrested for trespassing if he came back.

Sure, some of us have only been poked, but a lot of us have been hit, punched, tripped, spit upon, body checked and groped (show me on the doll, was it a good touch or a bad touch). If we don't stop the poke, people assume that poking is alright. Then they start assuming that hitting is ok. No means No, and it sickens me to see parents encourage their kinds to attack characters, and then get in an uproar when they get stopped.
Wow, It sounds like a horibble night to be around the park.
So I guess the moral to the origional post is that you need to watch which bush you poke, becaue if you poke the wrong bush a person who likes that bush will get angry at you. So keep your hands to your self and only touch your own bush if you have one.
Oh great here we go again with the immature comments.. by them coming on here "whining" ..as you call it.. about getting freaking peppersprayed in the face is not immature but what you are doing IS. I think the point of the 1st post is to show how idiotic the parents are too! They are sitting there condoning what their little braty (probably, I don't know them so I can't say for sure) kids are doing. They were warned and the parents still sat around and did nothing. 1/2 the parents out there do NOT parent. I don't know what they do but it sure is not parenting.

Ok this stuff needs to stop. It seems that everytime one of the characters comes on to tell a story, u have to come and bash on it. You've done it to me too. We didnt ask for mean comments from you. So don't give them to us. It's fine if you don't agree with what one of us say, but don't go on bashing us for it. Grow up buddy.

As I have, and always will, I will defend the characters. This whole entire
thing of people's abuse towards the characters have to stop. My question
is, why in the world was the person allowed into the park with pepper
spray? People who harrass and abuse characters have no right to be
in the park.
Nightshade is right. The characters come onto this forum to give their
opinions and tell their stories, but when they do, people gang up on them.
Come on people, respect the characters and their thoughts! In my
opinion, those who harrass the characters on this forum, are just as bad
as the people who harrassed the characters at the park.

OK, just so everyone knows, we had a great day on Sunday. I still got hit on Sunday but it wasn't bad. The day was outstanding though. For the most part the people were great and playful. Not too many issues on the day. I loved the fact that a few park employees got into the scare spirit and dressed up and scared people. That was a lot of fun. I also got to see the 3 o'clock sacrafice. We were all looking over the wall at it from the cafeteria.
Also, some girls wanted Mardi Gras beads and I didn't have any so I made her beads out of assorted Barbie Doll Parts. That was funny and she loved it.
Now, we have good days and we have bad. I like to tell both. Unfortunately not all days/nights are good and we tell our story. Just like most of you get mad when a coaster isn't running, you tell your story, we get mad when people act up and we tell ours.
Come on people relax a little bit. This time I am defending the bush. I could understand kids touching the bush once to see if it is real or not once (that is the whole point to the bushes and im sure the bush laugh when thy see people talking to a real bush thinking it was them) But the parent is totally at fault. Anyone who would allow there kids to do that shows they type of parent they are.
