10-16-2004 : Busy busy Day

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Jamesb58 on October 17th, 2004, 12:04 am
Hey everybody:

Just got back from a Long, cold and windy day up at Six Flags.
So, here is how the day went.

Closed Rides:
-DeJa Vu (All Day)
-All Water Rides (Of course)
-King Chaos (Closed then openned shortly, then closed again)
-Superman (All Morning and part of the early afternoon)
-American Eagle Blue

Our Ride List for the day:
-Revolution: 1 Time, by myself. No other riders.
-American Eagle Red: 1 Time, Kiwigoodkid got on it 5 times in a row.
-Viper: 1 Time
-Triple Play: 1 Time
-Fun Machine: 1 Time
-Demon: 1 Time, first run of the day, Only Kiwigoodkid and I was on the train.
-Iron Wolf: 1 Time (explanation below).

We didn't much with rides today. The lines were extremely long today.
Even though it was pretty cold, the lines were huge. The rides ran
great, and overall it was a great day for us. It was our LAST visit for the
season, so it was a 8 out of 10 visit.

As for Iron Wolf. It was our last coaster for the season, but this one
is an interesting one. We got inline for IW at about 8:00pm. Pretty good
line, but we're used to it. We got to about 3 trains before we could get
on and the whole ride shuts down. Eventually everybody left the line,
except for Kiwigoodkid and I. We waited in the front row. They finally
got the ride to work at about 8:45 and they ran the coaster with just
Kiwigoodkid and I. It was great. IW runs much better with fewer people
on the coaster.

Nacropolis!!! We spent a TON of time in Nacropolis, taking many many
photos. Most of our day was spent in the City of the Dead. I know a
few of you who are on the forum, were dressed up as dead people today
might have seen us. I was wearing a Black Jacket, Red Hoodie, Braves Hat, Black Pants, Glasses and I have a Goatee. We even shared a
Nacho with one of the dead guys today! It was a great time in the City
of the Dead.

Overall, it was a great day. We frooze our butts off during the first
day of operation (that was technically our 2nd to the park. We got to
go before the first day of operation, when we were invited to a buy out
day), and we frooze on our last day. We did not make our goal of 50
total rides on SUF. Our official count was 17 in 2003, and 28 in 2004,
making it a grand total of 45 times on SUF. We also hit park visit #40
today. We can't wait till May of 2005, when we'll be back!

We went over to Cajun for first ride today, luckily we got there late, so I did not line up for SUF, since it did not open. However, on Cjaun first dispatch we got stuck on the lift hill for 15 minutes. We also were able to get on Chaos for the little time it was open, it was much more crowded than yesterday, I only got 19 rides in 10 hours.

How many cars were in the parking lot? Did it look completely full? Also, how long were the lines. I know that you say extremely long, but what does that mean? Would that mean BTR 40 minutes (through the park only), IW 30 minutes, and so on?

It's open so long (for FF) and it's Saturday so many people take advantage of the 13 hour day. D Vu closed, I suspect the weather was the reason for that. I was a football game yesterday, and the wind was dreadful.

It was what used to be four rows in to the overflow, not quite sure how to describe that now that the rows are sideways. Batman was using its second entrance with all switchbacks open. Raging Bull had full que through both que houses with 3 trains.

I also was one of the people freezing to death that day. It was cold. We bought a fast lane though, and we got on a number of rides for the lines. Here's my list:

SUF-1
V-1
RB-1
AER-1
BTR-3
W-1
IW-1
V2-2
Rev.-1
TT-1
GD-2
Mystery Train-1

I got two rides on the Drop, two rides on Batman, and two rides on V2 all after 10:00. It was awesome! I also went in Necropolis at about 8:00 and I was planning on going in the Mausoleum. It was a huge wait so we decided that we'd come back later. We never got back to it.

I would say that the temp was around 45, but with a good wind around
20-25MPH, I would say that the air felt to be around 38.
