Jon is always smart. it was Bill who surprised me. I've always heard how he's so hateful and conservative, but the way he came off on Daily Show he seemed like he might actually be undecided. well, there was one part towards the end where he spouted off mindless Bush doctrine, but other than that...

I'm not saying he really is like that, but that's the way he came off.

Wait, wait, wait. You spite Bill O'Reily for "spouting off mindless Bush doctrine," but you don't do the same when Jon does it for Kerry? Seriously I can't watch the Daily Show without getting their political sentiment, that usually, just isn't funny.

spite...lol, I wouldn't say that. I was just saying he showed his partisanship when he said that.

as for the Daily Show, they may be a bit more liberal than conversative, but they actually make fun of both the left and the right pretty much equally. pretty much, if they think they can get a laugh, they use it, no matter which side it makes fun of.

R.I.P. "Superman," Christopher Reeve. He died last night, at the age of 52, from heart failure.

Christopher Reeves was a very good man, he will be missed greatly by many. He was truly a hero on and off the screen. R.I.P Christopher Reeves.

^ He was in the area only a few weeks ago, visiting a hospital where he was witnessing the new technology that he had helped make possible.

This just is one more reminder of how stem-cell research could help save a life. I know that Reeve would want more funding for all types of this research. I hope that the people of this country will realize that.

How about: Since when was stem cell research illegal?

In a few months you will see they can cure diseases without stem cell research.

Months? Do some research planea.

And stemcell is not illeagle, nobody ever said that. President Bush did withdraw all government funding from stem cell research though.

I dont know, planea, I don't think any of this will come about in modern medicine in the next few months. We've been working on an AIDs cure for 20 years now.

My politics teacher taped the debate from Friday and we watched the first 50 minutes of it during class today. I know a lot of canidates that aren't the incumbant say this but it's just something that really bothers me.

On almost every single issue John Kerry would say something he believes Bush does a bad job on, then says his plan will make it better. But he NEVER says how he is going to do it. Somehow during the debate John Kerry said in one sentance that he is going to tax the rich so much that we will keep a tax cut and it will pay for better health care. Just from the rich...wow.

But I also found it helarious when Bush spoke out of turn, and just about ripped the moderaters head off when Kerry said something that seemed to really piss him off. I can't recall exactly what it was about but I think it had to do with terrorism/Iraq.

I am supporting Bush here, ((personally I think neither of them should be President, but I gotta side with someone.)) but one thing I don't get is, He is against abortion, but not the death-penalty. Call me an idiot but since when does that make sense?

It makes plenty of sense.

The main reason: The person who receives the death penalty almost always deserves it for what they've done. What has an unborn baby done that makes them deserve to die? NOTHING. It's the parent's fault they are having the baby, they should have to deal with it. Abortion Is Murder.

(I also agree that our choices for president this year are rather grim, let's just hope whoever does win doesn't totally screw up the country.)

I agree with every statment you said. I also personally would rather not vote for either of them, because Kerry can't seem to make his mind up, but Bush hasn't done a stellar job either. Although, I'm leaning more towards Kerry, because Bush has had his chance. Right now, I am no better off than I was four years ago, so I think it's time for a change.

Chances are I'll be a middle-of-the-roader until I walk in to vote.

I'm in a similiar situation. I can't vote for Bush just because I disagree with a lot of what he's done, but I don't want to vote for Kerry because he's not much better. however, it doesn't really matter for the majority of us as Kerry has IL pretty much no matter what.

my plan: if Nader looks like he could get 5% of the vote, I'll vote for him. I don't think Nader should be in the office either, but I like the idea of more than two parties, so if I can help get a third party some federal money next time around, I'll do that. otherwise, I guess I'll vote Kerry and then whine and moan for the next four years

Everyone here says that Kerry can't make up his mind, but I don't see any evidence. I know there are things that he has flopped on, but a VAST majority of his beliefs have been constant. Find me some articles to back up all this...Just because Bush says he flip-flopps doesn't mean he really does.

And about the Abortion-Death Penalty thing. Killing is still killing. Bush takes a very religous take on life and one of the 10 commandments says 'Thou Shall Not Kill'. It doesn't say anything about thou shall not kill unless the offender is criminal. That sounds like flip flopping to me.

aero, Bush isn't flip flopping, he's being a hypocrite. he never said he was against the death penalty and then said he was for it (which would be a flip flop), instead, he constantly says that he's for killing people in column A and against killing people in column B. that's hypocrisy. and I should know considering I was born and raised a Catholic

I get a kick out of Bush bragging that more people own homes now then ever before under his presidency.

The reason behind that is the insanely low interest rates available for mortgages. They are this low because the economy sucks. Of course he doesn't want to bring up the real reason.

828,000 net jobs lost, oil up to $54 a barrel, the country is once again in a deficit, over 1000 military dead and it keeps rising, Osama still not apprehended, terrorist attacks now more frequent throughout the world. Shall I go on?

It's time to put Kerry in office and make an attempt at a change.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Pontiac, which is about an hour south of Joliet on I-55, is at about $1.93 per gallon right now. It was down around $1.70 for a while, but it just jumped back up last week.
