Waterpark Lines

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby mr. dejavu on September 22nd, 2004, 2:11 pm
Instead of the waterpark bringing smaller lines, I think the increase in guests will bring longer lines.

Well, I'm not one to like long lines, but I would rather see longer
lines both at SFGAm and at the new Hurricane Harbor than see
shorter lines. Let me explain it like this:

Shortlines + Fewer Guests + Less Income that comes in the park =
Less money to get newer rides.

Longlines + More Guests + More Income that comes in the park =
More money to get newer rides.

So, even though I would like to see shorter lines, I think that it's good
that Hurricane Harbor could bring bigger lines. So that we can get
more income into our park!

not only do longer lines bring more new rides, they can possibly bring better looking rides, and more theming.

You and I both know that no matter how long those lines get, the enthusiasts here will still go to SFGAm as much as possible. We've put up with long lines before, we'll do it again.

I'm fine with longer lines, as long as SFGA benefits from it.

I think the people who always say that long lines are good, because they bring money into the park, should have worked for the park. They seem to want what's best for Six Flags. For me, I'd rather just see short lines.

short lines = no crowds = good day

If there are longer lines that will bring more money.
More money=more rides
More rides=Less lines
So in the long run, SFGA will benefit from it.

It doesn't totally matter if the park is busy, it only matters if the people in the park are opening their wallets.

I can see lines being the same for Great America. Hurricane Harbor will help with capacity. It's just that later in the evenings might seem busier than before.

Lines really aren't an issue to me as long as there's something to look at something to do or someone to talk to. Usually it's someone to talk to.

Still, it's more convenient if they're short.

You have a point. I put it in 3 catagories. 1) Walk ons. 2) Medium lines (20 minutes to 35) 3) Long lines ( 45 to an hour).

I usually base the day on the lines for Raging Bull, but if Raging Bull is screwed up for the day like if its running one train or two trains, or if it breaks down while im in line i judge the day by superman, V2 or Batman The Ride.

Anyways, if they make a little bridge thing, which i think they will or a seperate gate to get into each park and then a gate connecting them it will be about the same. There will be more people, but HH will keep some of the lines down.

You never can know for sure about some things here unless you have inside information. Shockwave no one knows whats going to happen. Floorless, 4-D, and Rocket Coaster knowone knows. Seperate or combined addmission nobody knew.

although shorter lines may seem nice, think about this...The less people that show up to six flags, the less money six flags makes. If they fall behind they could file bankruptsy and thus close the park. So no more compaining about long lines. :-)

With the owner of SFGAM being 2.1 billion in debt i dont think you are likely too see a large infusion of cash into the park, if more money is made and the company can actually make money in a year which they havent done since 1998 you may see them try to reduce there debt load. Will money be put into the park, yes but not likely to be as large as what they are doing for the waterpark. And with most of the available land used up there is little room for something major anymore. They can always take something out to put in something new but even given that where do people think they could fit in a major ride like RB .
