In what will be a very interesting developing story, According to thrillride.com, SFGAdv's new Intamin rocket coaster will eclipse Top Thrill Dragster in not only height, but speed as well.
In the soon to be Media Day report, SFGadv says that this new coaster will be "Too Big to Believe," "Too High to Breathe," and "Too Fast to Scream."
Now, we all know that Great Adventure is getting a Rocket Coaster from Intamin, and well also know how big this coaster is going to be, According to RCDB.COM it lists this as of yet to be named ride at 2500 feet, about 300 feet less then TTD's 2800 ft, so it is likey that the claim from this web site is true.
Also having asked around the internet community, this web site is a very reliable source from this type of information. This is only a developing story and should be treated not as a rumor, but a report on the progress of SFGADV's new coaster.
wait, if its 300 ft shorther than TTD, then are they not going to have the dual stations or something? and why build a bigger TTD when people who've been on it say its a one trick pony?
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
Woo hoo we are going to that park May 28th - June 1st next year so hopefully it will be open by then! I can't even imagine this! I still have not gone on TTD so maybe I should test that one out 1st.
Yeah, I said this in another topic a day or two ago.
Also, other people in the enthusiast community believe the length is wrong.(Even though that was the length given at a board meeting.) Who knows, but the announcement will be here sooner than later.(Sep. 29).
Who Cares What Other People Think, Top Thrill Dragster Was Wicked, My Ears Even Popped When We Took Off, And When We Got To The Top, And The Same Going Down And Slowing Down, It Was The Biggest Rush Of My Life And I Cant Wait Till The Rocketter Is Announced From GADV, And Then I Cant Wait To Go There, Im So Excited, Were Going There Next Summer!
While it will be tall, it most likely wont have the dual station, and that will also make the brake run shorter, as it wont have to/wont be able to hold 6 trains. Other than that I'd expect a near if not exact clone for the rest of the ride, though a bit taller (137.4)

How can a ride taller than TTD have less lenght unless the launching pad is shorter, and in that case it would need to launch a lot faster than TTd, which is fast enough in my opinion
If this report about the ride is in fact true, Cedar Point was knocked off the mountain as far as the "biggest, tallest, fastest". And its funny because its a "gasp" Six Flags park that knocked CP off that mountain.
Why would they do this? Because CP took SFMM's record of having the fastest, tallest coaster in the world (if you want to believe that), Six Flags is going to get all "So? We'll buy one just like it. Only bigger and faster!" Six Flags is mad about competition. Thus why they buy out all the other small parks that show potential.
All I can say is, if this is just a Dragster clone with 5 or 10 extra feet, I will be severely disappointed. I'll still ride it though (since I'll be near it once I go to Dorney anyway...)
yeah, I'm sure SF buys small parks because they're worried about competition
SF buys parks because they believe the parks will bring in money. nothing more, nothing less. whether the parks turn out to be money guzzlers or pump out cash like nobody's business, SF's only intent is to make money.

No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW EXCITED I AM. Unlike most people who are happy, but will never get a chance to go on it (the way I feel about rides at cedar point) my grandparents have a house 30 miles away from gadv and I go there EVERY summer. Next summer will be no exception to that law.
BTW, check out screamscape.com and check out the pictures of the advertisements in the 9/22 news update.
Six Flags brings in catchy theme song that goes national, but not many new rides this year. They get everybody's attention and now everyone knows the song.
Next year they run the same campaign except on the end of all the commercials they end with "This year: Biggest, tallest, and fastest coaster in the world!" or "This year: Come to Hurricane Harbor!"
Everybody knows the song, now they have a real good insentive to go.

There is no way the launch can be shorter then ttd. ttd hardly makes it up how it a ride taller going to make it and how is it going to reach the speed. If this is true they will have to get a differnet launch or else u can expect alot of launch cord breaks.
