I havent read the rest of the posts yet so this may have been answered already. The 8th is a buyout and not open to the public. FF starts on the 9th for the public and is also open on the 11th (Columbus Day).

the characters actually start on the 3rd and work right through until the 11th. Then it's every weekend for us.

DejaVu The Ride wrote:Isn't the 8th some radio station buy-out though?

It is not open to the general public.

I have two comments for this post.

first...Last year as I was scaring someone the idiot boyfriend decided that he could stop me by hitting me in the chest. Security stopped him and kick him out (he also lost his season pass and his ability to ever get a season pass again). The biggest problem here is that as we were discussing what had happened, the two of them changed their story and said that I had put my hands all over her. Although they were proven wrong by some nice people who witnessed the whole thing it could have gotten ugly. What if I didn't have any witnesses? She could have said that I did something sexual and it could have gotten worse. Six Flags is a much bigger and more known place than any of these small productions of a haunted house therefore people see the opertunity to sue more often than they would at a small carnival type place.

Last year I never took my hands off of the Axe that I was carrying, for the purpose of not being accused of something I didn't do. An occasional high five or hand shake is more than welcome though. Picture opts are encouraged.

Also, to sign a waiver before entering? There are 10,000 people that go through the HH at SFGAM per day, you cannot get that many people to signa waiver and keep the line moving at the same time, impossible.

second...
If you like Kennywood that much better by all means go there...

da rcman2001 wrote:What i dont understand is that gam keeps making it less scarier becuase they got law suits and are scared of getting sued again. What I dont understand is how other theme parks with way better halloween events and even fair grounds dont get sued and havent lowered their game. And in the past they used to be able to touch you and grab you and stuff. All six flags needs to do is make people fill out a waver before entering a haunted house saying that the scareacters will be able to touch them and that they cant sew the park for anything that happens inside. That way the park assumes no responsibility for anything stupid. I really like fright fest but come on. Kennywood has only been doing phantom fright nights for 2 years and its way better that fright fest.

why dont you just work for the park in general then?

twixmix talking: Umm, because JPM serves many more parks than Great America. Six Flags Great America hires them to work during Fright Fest.

Six Flags and Fright Fest has a "Media" day on the Thursday before FF starts. So it looks like the 7th will be media day. I believe park employees get to go on that day, at least the ones that don't work there. There are usually about 4,000 to 7,000 people there that day. Plus, obviously, the media. I say this based on the last two years that I have worked FF so I can't be 100% sure of the date.

Also, working for the park is not like working for JPM. And if you work for the park you cannot work for JPM in the same season.

Actually, last year they announced all the information around September 17. The "media day" and what da rcman2001 was talking about are different. Maybe they will change things this year, but I would expect info to be released "soon".

What other kind of information do you want? What information is to be released? We already know the dates and times. We already know what characters are going to be there. We have seen all the signs at GA, I'm not sure then what information is still needed. What did they release on Sept. 17th last year that people didn't already know?

Not everyone in the fricken world reads this site or knows of JPM. Six Flags releases information to everyone on their website. It states all the haunted houses and stuff like that. Look at the website for past press releases.

hmmm, guess I don't have to reply, thanks Bink

My initial thought in answering your question was that you wanted more information on FF not that the people outside this site wanted info. If you read my response to you I asked you what other kind of information do you want? I never said that everyone in the world has to know JPM. I hope you get your press releases you are looking for.

See you at FF.

SFGAm should have a whole alien area. I know that they had some aliens by The Pictorium, but that doesn't do much justice. The Hometown Square Mars Attack wasn't that great when they did have a little area about it.

Bring back Chucky! What else? Some more non-scary people would be cool. I would love to see Supergirl, and Wonder Woman walking around. (Yeah, in my dreams.)

I can't wait to see big skeleton guy, big pumpkin (if they still have them), and of course the queens and princesses in the National Park. (Yes, I know I'm pathetic.) The talking skeletons are awesome.

Lastly, I thought that the part with the guy on the wheel was just plain stupid.
