I think that sfgam could do better for fright fest. Dont get me wrong I love fright fest and the people there do scare me. But there are a lot of people that are saying that they would rather go to the haunted house in the fair grounds. I know why dont tell me why its better. But you know sfgam could always let them touch people just get security gaurds to make sure nothing happens. And its not bad to take ideas from other place.
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.
What i dont understand is that gam keeps making it less scarier becuase they got law suits and are scared of getting sued again. What I dont understand is how other theme parks with way better halloween events and even fair grounds dont get sued and havent lowered their game. And in the past they used to be able to touch you and grab you and stuff. All six flags needs to do is make people fill out a waver before entering a haunted house saying that the scareacters will be able to touch them and that they cant sew the park for anything that happens inside. That way the park assumes no responsibility for anything stupid. I really like fright fest but come on. Kennywood has only been doing phantom fright nights for 2 years and its way better that fright fest.
***VERY LONG***
The way I see it is - deal with it or don't. thats all. bottom line. Theres no more too it. It you think it could be so much better take all the money that you have..yeah your whole piggy bank and put it to a halloween event and when you come to realize it costs over a million to put together, and you dont have the funds for it, you will be on your hands and knees kissing my bosses feet for putting all his money into it.
The reason the other places get away with more is they also dont have over 200 characters, and have insurance so we can be safe. JPM looks out for all characters, unlike the other haunted houses. We can't touch people because some people will file harrasement.. you know anything about the law?? Go to a criminal class and business management. its not as easy as it looks. Also - Some people have nerves about people touching them. My mom is that way, she will freak out when someone she doesnt know touches her. You never know when someone will turn around and throw a punch in a characters face. Its better to be safe than sorry. I don't want to end up in the hospital because of something that could be avoided.
Plus did you ever think that its getting worse because 1 - your getting older, 2 - you go EVERY weekend. Dont go the whole time and then go once i guarentee it will be "better" People travel near and far to go to this and they have a great time. they arn't spoiled like us, they don't get to go anytime they are free. We are lucky to go as much as we do.
Im taking classes to have my own business like JPM. It is very costly. They don't buy so-so costumes, we get hand made imported from italy stuff. All JPM's stuff is the best quality, The stuff we use is A-Movie props. JPM doesn't use stuff thats going to fall apart after one use. Most places go to wal-mart to buy their stuff. JPM doesn't. They like to be movie quality. Its not even them who make things less scary. the busted their butts to get blood/gore back, can't you be happy with that?? Theres alot more that goes into a production like this other than whatever everyone is complaining about it.
Like I said, I complain too - but to the people who can do stuff about it. Stop in at guest relations and fill out a card saying - 'Hey I think fright fest will be better if you add this, and take out this" I admit things can be changed. So if everyone wants it to be changed - the first day of fright fest or wheneve you go, have EVERYONE do the same things. Who knows maybe next year will be more up to your "standards"
**Sorry its so long. =) If ya didn't read it, Dont complain - take it to the park when fright fest opens**
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! All Everyone does here is complains were trying to make this years Fright fest so good and all you guys do is complain! It hasn't even started yet so how do you even knwo what it is going to be like, so for everyone who is complaining do it somewere were we in this forum can not see it thanks Scott
FrightFestChica, please don't act like you're much better than anyone on this board...there's no room for it and it's not needed. That's great that you get to work Fright Fest and know much more than anyone else, but there's no reason to bash their opinions.
To me, it sounds like a lot of people aren't saying that the Fright Fest is bad, it's just that they are saying that it could be better.(Everything can be better.)
I personally love Fright Fest, and don't feel like I am missing something. I love everything that goes along with it. I don't do the haunted houses much, but I love Necropolis, the Scooby Doo train ride, and all the scenery and lights.
I guess I might just have to go into the haunted houses this year.(I did Maus of Terror in 2002.)

Your out of line and completly wrong.
Shes not saying shes better than anyone else, just because she happens to know something (unlike some people) doesnt mean shes "acting like shes better than anyone on this board" if you said that to everyone who does know stuff, we wouldnt have a very knowledgable board would we?
I, for one, have been intirgued by everything she has said.
I read the sign in Hometown Square. It said that at the Carousel stage they were going to have something called the "Demon Review". What exactly is this? Is it like SF party but for fright fest? Do you who work for JPM know what this is?
Just an update on some FF things, they have added a lot of signs for rides and other things. Fiddler's Fling's sign says Fiddler's Flung, East River Crawler sign says Monster Mash, they put up the Iron Werewolf, Southwest Scaritory, Terror Twister, and Rue le Morgue signs. The bridge from Yankee Harbor to Yukon Territry had black boards put up on the sides. Also, the entrance to Sleepy Hollow 3D is set up and has a blacklight shining on it at night. They have advertisements everywhere for $20 tickets to come back for Fright Fest. That's all I can remember for the moment.

^ Yes it probably was that way. I forgot about the spelling difference. I thought up that joke about Papas and posted it, although my guess is that it is somewhat like Six Flags party but for Fright Fest.
Well sorry if you think Im trying to sound better than anyone else. Im just telling it how it is, if you don't like it fine. Obviously its not like im rubbing in the fact that I work for JPM, im trying to get everyone else to work for them too. You are saying you want it better, you said you want things to be changed all I said was it can not be done until everyone takes it to the park. How I am acting like im better than everyone else? Im not going to let everyone say false information when I know the real answers. (Not saying I know everything - god knows i don't) Im going to school to try and do somewhat of the same stuff as JPM, im wokring my butt off for this. That comment was really rude.
Everytime I post something I say im not trying to be rude, Im not saying it to one person directly, but if everyone wants to say that type of stuff then I think we should all take it to the park.. if they get numerous complaints they are going to change something.
Dejavu - I agree that everything can be better - nothing is perfect, but sometimes things are just out of hand and nothing can be done about it, and complaining about it is just going to make everyone see the bad in fright fest, and thats not what its about.
Look if everyone is upset with what im saying fine just tell me and ill retire from the board. Simple As That!
Frightfestchica, when Im old enough I want to work for jpm because fright fest is the coolest time to go to gam, and I love going there. I bet my opinions on the event will change completely in 2 weeks anyways. And Im not trying to affend you. Every time i say something about fright fest in general, you get really affended and Im sorry.
All I was saying was that I dont get how all these other parks with a character crew and haunted houses dont get sued but gam and suggested that all they need to do is warn people that certain aspects of the event arent intended for kids 12 and under, and have them sign wavors before entering haunted houses, and then jpm and six flags would be free to run the event as they please. Dont you think that would be a good idea?
Sorry, it's just that, for exampe, "file harrasement.. you know anything about the law?? Go to a criminal class and business management" makes everyone else look stupid.

I got some pics today of various signs already set up for Fright Fest. They had the Terror Wister, Iron Were Wolf, Southwest Scaritory signs, etc... already set up. They also added a sign to East River Crawler that said Monster Mash. I'll post pics later.
RCMan, I just don't understand why people complain about it so much when if they want it resolved they can just take it to the park. It just seems like everyone wants to complain but not take a stand. I also agree that stuff can be done to make things run better. but its just something you gotta deal with ya know? I think (My opinion) that they tone things down compared to other places is that this is a famiy park, if they can do stuff to avoid mishaps and lawsuits they are going to. Its better to be safe than sorry, thats all.
and Twix - I don't mean anything like "Your stupid - you don't know anything." Theres alot that goes on for criminal justice and its a long and costly process, they don't want to go through that, and some people don't understand all of it and like to say stuff before they know all the facts. Im not referring to any of you. I had to sit in a 5 hour training with my 2 bosses pounding this stuff into our (JPM Staff) heads. I couldn't believe what all goes into it and i try to explain to some people that things just can't be and they get mad it me.. Im sorry if im telling you the way it is, but if you knew the half of everything that goes into 1 year of fright fest you would think the way I do. Sometimes it puts me over the edge.
Like I said - I totally agree that things could be done differently to make things look better and what not.. but its one thing to bash it and another to throw ideas out. Sometimes it just seems like no one appreciates it.. Just how I feel. Im sorry if I offended any of you, or made you mad. I don't mean to - just have to relize where im coming from.
