I wouldn't doubt if B&M is working on 4-d type coasters, knowing GAm as silly as it sounds I wouldn't be surprised if they get a B&M 4-D instead of a floorless a few years from now.

Not a great impact and certainly not a good use of 20 million dollars.
I want a 4d really bad
Yes da rcman2001, lets get a prototype which will take the park three years to get running, when we could have a ride open on time with no large recurring problems, which would be semi-popular if it had more then six inversions. That's a great idea, you should go work for Six Flags and propose it! The worst part is they'd probably say yes considering they're past history in the field (ie: Vu...X) And for those of you who are saying "X is running fine now" now being the key word, it took them what? Two...Three years to do it?

Why don't you contribute more to the conversation then yelling at planea for doing what you are doing with that post!
My opinoin is exactly what i said before: We don't NEED a floorless, but it would be a great addition from every angle, inversions, advirtising, balance of people through the park, etc...(Depending on where it was built) I think it would be a good move for six Flags.
Response to Sedir: I, personally, never wanted a 4-D, and the anger toward types of rides arises out of the fact that not all coaters are the same. There is a big difference from X to Bull to Batman. It's a comletly different experiance to answer you question...
Let the yelling begin!
Binks Drake, we wouldnt get a prototype. X WAS THE PROTOTYPE. It took them 2 years to get all the glitches out and fix the trains so they dont get stress fractures, but if we were to buy a 4d, it wouldnt have all the problems X did.
And sixflgsguy5, Im serious. X had 6 to 7 and a half hour lines the first year of operation. People would have to wait all the way over by panda and from there you still have to cross over the midway on a bridge and the ride is still a couple football fields away.
X would be such an awesome addition. It would get twice as much publicity as superman and be popular WAY more seasons longer. Imagfine riding it. It goes from flying to floorless, from backwards to forwards and has really cool inversions that are half zero g rolls and when your on your side in the middle of it, your seets roll. Its also got a drop that goes from backward/leaning allmost upside down to vertical to upside down so you land like in a pretzel loop (facing straight up). Theres so much more revolutionary elements on a 4d and its way more insane.
X did indeed have 6-7 hour lines during the last couple of summers(but not this summer.) It was running usually only 1 train and was very, very popular.(Even though it is still popular.)

The idea of a B&M 4D makes me pant like a dog, then I realize it will never happen.
And Chitown, when I was at SFMM Scream had about a 20 minute wait (which was actually pretty long for that dead day), but if the entire queue was full it would have only taken probably 40-45 minutes (with two trains running.) Basically I saw no switchbacks and it was just a strait shot to the station stairs.

"I can see it right now, a B&M 4-D coaster in SFGAm. Just imagine if it went in next year, and they announced it on the 16th. Wishful thinking though."
^ Exactly my thoughts. Ahhh, one can dream.

DejaVu The Ride wrote:A B&M 4D is very possible. Remember, B&M built a train for X.(Not when it first opened, but after one of the other trains tore itself apart.)
Thats nothing special though. The trains still need alot more work.
Chitown wrote:If the floorless is such proven technology, why do I constantly read trip reports at SFMM where Scream barely generates a line?
There are many reasons why Scream doesn't produce a line.
#1: Scream is one of the best capacity rides SFMM has mainly because it runs all 3 trains (or at least it did when I was there.)
#2: They never built a big line for it. It's "line" is basically just a straight shot from the entrance to the station.
#3: They have Viper another multi-looping coaster and not to mention the fact people probably look at it and think "That looks just like Riddler's Revenge."
I found Scream to be one of my favorite rides at SFMM along with X and Riddler's, but I have to agree I don't care if we were to get a B&M floorless or a B&M coaster with a floor. It wouldn't make one bit of difference unless you sit in the front row.
I think that if we get a floorless, it should be like hydra. That ride looks so cool. And it keeps a fast speed through the whole ride unlike alot of B & M's.
^Exactly. If we get some over-used ride like a floorless, that all have about the same design, I would want it to be unique like Hydra. But, I would rather see something else than a floorless. A giant wooden coaster would be nice .
I don't know. I doubt we're getting one anytime soon now that we're getting a waterpark. I don't know if the company will afford the floorless afterwards.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
if brad says there will be a b&m 4-d, then i might consider the possibility. I think that whatever new coaster we get in the future would be a b&m, just because they are so popular at sfgam.
I went to six flags this saturday, and shockwave i think has been moved down the hill. I have more info that i could say but its a rumor and i dont want to get in trouble.
