I have been thinking about this for quite sometime now, Why does Great America NEED a floorless coaster so bad?
Raging Bull's seating is elevated enough so your feet dont touch the floor of the ride. Batman,V2,DejaVu,Superman are all "floorless" so why does everyone praise the concept of a "Floorless'? It doesnt make sense at all to me.
If anything Great America's next coaster should be something creative and new, NOT something that has been used for a while. An example could be a 4D Coaster or something creative.
Ever since Shockwave was removed, I've felt that SFGAm has always been missing a Mega-looping coaster. And what's the most reliable of all looping coasters right now? The answer is a B&M Floorless. But I really don't mind that we aren't getting one this year, and I'm just pumped about the water park that's on its way for 2005.

^I agree. I love floorless coasters, i think they're great. And we really don't have many inversions, that would be a good way to get it, i'm sick of just plain old Sit down coasters. Which is why i don't much care for demon or bull.
It's not like we have to a have a floorless, but our next coaster should be inversion based and a floorless would make some what of an additional thrill to a regular sit-down looper.
/\ The only reason that they say this is because X has been working well lately and they have seemed to have got it running smoothly. Also, it is something unique and alos because of that rumor that has been going around gave a lot of people wanting one really bad.
Personally either one would work. A floorless would boost the inversion count of the park, but a 4D would make people from the midwest want to come to the park to ride an unique ride.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
It would also make a sweep of B&M's for the park. I don't think it's too far away on the list of coasters (and I'm not saying anytime before 2006-2007).
Plus, I don't think we are really in the "need" stage, many people just want it.
As far as the 4-D thing. We already have enough trouble of a time with Vu to run (although it ran decently this year) while SFMM has their hands tied in knots when it comes to X and Vu (and their other 14 coasters!)
Personally, we have "floorless" coasters, I've thought the idea was dumb since Medusa @ SFGAdv. But If we did have a floorless, we'd get recognition as one of the top thrill parks in the world, not that we aren't already, of course
^I don't think it would give us much regonition at all. I didn't even know SFA had a floorless coaster until I was looking at pics of Superman the other day.
Main idea here: It's not original, and SFGAm is clearly an original park (other than S:UF ).

We need a floorless just so we can watch the floor in the station drop out. I love that lol, it's so fun to watch. If you havn't seen the floor in the station of a floorless drop, you're missing out.
Coastrcorey has a point, that retracting floor would be a pretty great addition to SFGAm
Though I get to see one in action in Nov down in Orlando on Kraken. (I've seen every one in action in person exept for Scream, I'd rank Kraken's floor pretty high due to a complex weld that runs the entire length of the station on both sides where the whole moving floor assembly meets the station floor with a metal flange) (yeah I know, I'm spoiled)
I think sooner or later we will see a new large multi-looper of some sort, maybe floorless, maybe not(I perfer the floor-ed B&M loopers myself)

We don't NEED a Floorless, I think it has alot to do with people just thinking that's one of the only thing's we don't have. People have been saying floorless was probably going to be our next coaster for years now. Then we got Superman, and then we got Ragin Cajun, and still no floorless.
Id love a B&M looper though...floorless or not, won't matter since floorless coaster's you only get the feeling up front. I really liked the two floorless coasters I have rode though (Batman: Knight Flight and Scream). Unlike the B&M inverts which I found the larger they are the worse they are, the floorless coasters are just as good no matter what the size.

We could use a floorless but I dont think we need one. The park could use some more inversions, which would help alot. Personally, I'd rather see a sitdown looper, they can be much taller.
