SFGAM has been my home park since I was 5, so I've had several visits over the years. Now, I've taken a moment to reflect on some of the best and worst that the park has had to offer over the course of those 20 years. I have the questions and my answers below, but I'm interested to see what the rest of you have to say. Here goes:
Favorite GA coaster of all time: Deja Vu--I know this one will breed controversy, but, for me, it's just so different from everything else that they've got that it stands out as an exceptionally good ride, when it is running that is.
Least favorite GA coaster: Whizzer--This ride certainly has its place in the park, and I'm not saying that I want it gone. However, I have never enjoyed this ride, even when I was young. The way that it speeds up and slows down makes me sick.
Most Intimidating Ride in GA history: Shockwave--This one wasn't hard for me, as I can still remember the first time I saw the blue and white giant with the insane number of loops and corkscrews. You can say what you want about the quality of the ride, but, for me, no coaster at GA has ever held a candle the SW in terms of the intimidation factor.
Favorite flat: Rides that spin make me sick, so I really don't have a favorite flat. I put this one on here, however, because I know several of you really like the flats.
Favorite water ride: Yankee Clipper (Ice Mountain Splash)--I know that this one is probably the worst for actually getting wet, but I have great memories of riding this one during my earliest trips to the park, so I will always place this ride first among the water attractions.
The one that got away--Z-Force (Flashback at MM) --This refers to a ride that has been removed that you wish you'd have gotten the chance to ride. Z-Force never received good reviews anywhere it has been, but it was the only coaster that GA has had in my lifetime that I did not get a chance to ride. I still remember how disappointed I was when I saw that I was too short for that blue and white twisted mass of metal. Even if it would've caused neck and back pain, I still would've like the chance to tell for myself.
Pleasant surprise ride: Viper --When I first saw Viper I was not impressed, as it did not look high or fast enough to grab my attention. However, the internal portion of the ride provides some of the best air time I've ever encountered, and that's a big plus for me.
Well, that's all that I've got for now. I'll be interested to hear what some of you have to say about some of these categories. Feel free to create categories of your own and add them in if you want. Have fun with this. It's not meant to start a freakin' debate!
I'm gonna twist ya, and I'm gonna flip ya. Every time you squeal, I'm just gonna go faster and harder.
Fav Flat: Revy (But ERC and Triple Play come close)
Least Favorite: Iron Wolf- I just don't like it!
Most Intimidating: I would have to day V2, before i was into coasters, I had gone one day expecting to ride V2, but the height and the speed scared me away!
Water Ride: Rapids! I love that ride! unless it's scorching hot, that's the only water ride i'll bother with.
The One that got away: Shockwave, I unfortunatly never got a chance to ride this beast. It was removed the year I really got into coasters.
Fav Flat: Revolution with Triple Play a CLOSE second
Least Favorite: Spacleys also
Most Intimidating: Defnitley V2.. but once on it it's one of the funnest rides out there
Water Ride: Rapids
The One that got away: Tidal Wave - I loved that ride! I need to take a trip out to Kentucky soon.
Surprise: King Chaos - My fiance hates it.. says it's the most boring ride but everytime on it I still feel a little bit nervous. I love just sitting there upside down for that 15-30 seconds!
Favorite Coaster: Demon
Least Favorite Coaster: Iron Wolf
Most intimidating: Shockwave
Favorite Flat: (tie) Ricochet, Triple Play
Water Ride: Yankee Clipper/IMS
One that got away: Tidal Wave
Surprise: Deja Vu
Favorite Coaster--Raging Bull
Least favorite coaster--Spacely's Sprocket Rockets
Favortie Flat--Chubasco
Favorite Water ride--Ice Mountain Splash
One that got away--Shockwave, should have never been replaced with "'S:UM' Superman Ultimate Mistake" -Planea380
Surprise--Cajun, did not expect much on that ride, the first time was painful, ask Brad, he knows
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
Favorite GA Coaster of all time - Raging Bull. No matter how many
times I ride it, I still love it.
Least fav. GA Coaster - Whizzer. SNORE!
Most Intimidating - Well, I would have to say Batman. Batman was
the first Rollercoaser I've ever been on, and when I did it back in
1995 (I was 15 at the time, I'm now 24) I was very intimidated by it, but I convinced myself to go on in and I've been a coaster fan since!
Fav. flat - Revolution. Gotta love that ride. King Chaos is a
very CLOSE 2nd.
Fav. Water Ride - Roaring Rapids. I don't ride the water rides anymore,
but I love Roaring Rapids, cause I've always loved that ride, ever since
I was a little kid. I've been going on that ride since ever since I was
tall enough to ride it.
One that got away - I didn't care about Z-Force, but the one that got
away would have been Rolling Thunder. I did that ride about 3 times,
but I loved that ride, and I miss it!
Suprise - I'd say Viper too. I wasn't a big fan of the Wooden coaster,
until I rode Viper.

Favorite roller coaster of all time at SfGam- Definately DejaVu. People put down this kick-butt of a ride just because of all its problems. Aren't we coaster buffs because we like the thrill the ride gives us? The hanging, blacking out, and awesome inversions all =#1 to me.
Least favorite roller coaster- Probably Spacelys because it isn't meant for the thrill seeker. I know it is for the kids, but I am looking for the thrill.
Most intimidating- Probably DejaVu. The first time I rode this, I was literally freaking out. I felt really cool after it though. Surprisingly, Shockwave really didn't intimidate me.
Favorite Flat- It would have to be Giant Drop(Even though I don't like its title of flat ride.) It is great. especially when you put your arms and legs out. Also when your're dropping(on the AE side) and you compare your position to AE's helix.
Favorite water ride- It is definatelty Roaring Rapids. I love the nice long journey with all the waterfalls and water cannons. It is just plain fun.
The one that got away- It would probably be Tidal Wave. I have heard great things about these type of rides and I wish I would also have gotten the chance to ride it as Tidal Wave(Not Greezed Lightning.)
Pleasant surprise ride- It will be Whizzer. It is peaceful, at times intense, and is a very neat experience. A classic can't get much better than this.
SFGAM has been my home park since I was 5, so I've had several visits over the years. Now, I've taken a moment to reflect on some of the best and worst that the park has had to offer over the course of those 20 years. I have the questions and my answers below, but I'm interested to see what the rest of you have to say. Here goes:
Favorite GA coaster of all time: Vertical Velocity. Just something about quick acceleration and awesome airtime.
Least favorite GA coaster: Demon, I can't even ride it-I'm too tall.
Most Intimidating Ride in GA history: Giant Drop. It still gives me a little bit of anxiety before riding it.
Favorite flat: I can't ride too many of them. I hate being dizzy.
Favorite water ride: Loggers Run. Great theming (the best in the park in my opinion)!
The one that got away- The edge. I love freefall!
Pleasant surprise ride: American Eagle Red this year. When I had my amazing ride in June, it easily surpassed Viper for best woodie. I can only imagine what this ride once was (consider yourself lucky Scott.. )
Most Memorable trip- July 23rd 2001. First time ever there. Raging Bull at night looking down at the fireworks. Amazing.
Favorite Coaster: Raging Bull (Demon and Iron Wolf are close)
Least Favorite Coaster: Spacely's
Most Intimidating: Shockwave and Iron Wolf I was really afraid to ride these when I was little
Favorite Flat: Revolution, Fiddler's Fling, and Chubasco. (I'm terrible at making decisions)
Favorite Water Ride: Rapids. I love that ride! I don't know why though.
The one that got away: Z-Force and Shockwave
Surprise: AE I was scared to go on it when I was little but in the end I had a great time.
NEW! Biggest Upset: King Chaos. I was very excited for this ride to open but after I rode it (I rode it after they changed it) I was dissapointed with the lack of flips. Yet I still think it's a fun ride... weird...
My Biggest Upset would have to be DeJa Vu. To me, it's the most boring
thing I have ever been on. I've actually yawned on that ride.
