Coaster tattoos anyone?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby kahmooza on September 9th, 2004, 6:22 am
Hello all! I did a topic search because I wouldn't want to start a topic someone may complain about. But somebody probably will anyways so here goes.

I am on a serious hunt for pictures or info on where to get a good tattoo of a coaster...wood or steel. Or even just a tattoo of the logo of a cool coaster.

I'm really hoping this isn't an original idea and someone out there has a pic on file of a good looking coaster tattoo they can send me.

Thanks in advance to any replies! Off season is almost here GET MORE THRILLS IN!!!!

Um, did you just post a link to a Bill O Reiley book? I would hope somewhere in this book the fool talks about coaster tattoos?

If not then Tennis double check your link or clarify why I would want the book. Theres a 0.5% chance I would buy this book. If anything O Reilly would say in his book tattoos are evil and should be illegal, two of the republicans favorite words :P

It doesn't say tatoos are evil and should be illegal, it points out how intelligent it is to get pictures drawn on your body.

To each their own.. I have 3 tattoos currently but I do not have them out in the open where people can see them because I choose to not be labled by society as being a "freak" or "unintelligent". Each and every tattoo that I have I put allot of thought into them and they are very special to me. Now my ex for instance looks like a freaking etch-a-sketch board but I have no right to say that what he is doing with his own body is right or wrong - smart or stupid.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to get a tatoo myself, or read or listen to Bill O'Riley.

A comedian had a line about how his girlfriend wanted him to get her name tatooed on him. He said, I could see getting married and having kids with her, but a tatoo is so ....perminanat.

To each his own though,

I really don't want a tattoo for two reasons: 1. It looks stupid to me.
2: It would hurt like crap.

Just to let you know: A roller coaster tattoo would make you look like a nerd.

^Are you sure those are 2 reasons?

I'm deathly afraid of needles so I won't be getting a tatoo anytime in the near future...

Hey the key word in my first post was "serious". I'm dead serious I'm looking for some coaster tattoo ideas and I'm really hoping SOMEONE out there knows someone who has one....

So basically if you only post to say how "dumb" it would look save it! I happen to think a wood coaster track around my arm with a train on it somewhere would look decent as long as I find a good artist. After all, we are all enthusiasts right? Thats why you're reading this.

As far as being afraid of needles I was too until I had a serious illness and had nurses sticking me with em every couple of days at the hospital; after I recovered I got my first tattoo and it wasn't bad at all, now I really want a coaster related one. It's kind of funny I went on DejaVu 3 days after my major surgery (against regulations I know but what can you do?). Anyways the big green monster made a couple of my stitches rip open :o

Thanks again to anyone who can help me out.

If you really want it then go for it. Just remember a tattoo should be an expression of self. If you think in 30 years you'll still think the coaster tattoo is still cool then go for it. The only thing I can suggest off the top of my head is to find a cool shot of a poster you like bring it to the tattoo shop and have them copy the picture. I know Jade Dragon does that, as for cost I have no idea at all.

Here the deal. DONT POST IN THIS THREAD UNLESS YOU CAN HELP THE TOPIC OUT!!! We DONT care if you don't like tattos! We DONT care about your beliefs! Stay on topic and don't call people dumb, stupid, nerds, or weird!

Here's what I would do, I would go to a few different tattoo parlors and ask around. Find a few images and logos and pick them out. Try to picture what they would look like. Most every tattoo parlor has tons of pictures on the wall for you to look at.

Second, ask a lot of people. This probably isn't the place, considering amost everyone is immature and under the age of 18 (as you can tell from this topic). There are definatly a lot of very active tattoo message boards on the internet that you should try.

And finally, I hope this doesnt detur you from posting here. I hope that people will have a bit more respect for other people's opinions/beliefs.

Don't bring OReily into these forums again Brad.

Your beliefs along with his are narrow minded.

If you think you are a better person in society because you dont put artwork on your body, you are as ignorant as he is.

I never said that, I know a lot of good people that have tatoos, but that doens't mean it's a smart thing to do.
And don't call me narrow minded for common sense, I see someone with tatoos first thing I think is "that guys smart enough to get pictures drawn on his body with needles."

Something I don't understand, along with body piercing and liquid soap.

Brad, I agree with you 66.666% there. The only thing I don't understand you not understanding is the liquid soap thing.

I mean it's clean, it doesn't slip around. What is there not to get?

Is that like powdered milk and you mix it with water and it becomes a little like the real thing?

So by saying it's not a smart thing to do, that leaves only one other option. They are dumb.

You have your opinion, but sit here and link people to OReily like it's fact.

By you saying that just looking at someone with tattoos gives you an impression is ignorant and narrow minded.

I think people with gap teeth are hillbillies. I guess you must be a hillbilly. See where the ignorance comes into play when its focused on your looks?

Once again
I never said that, I know a lot of good people that have tatoos

When did I say I think someones bad because they have tatoos?
Tatoos are not smart, there is no need to get pictures drawn on your body with needles regardless. Theres not much I can do about my gapped teeth, if I wanted to I could go out and get a tatoo.

I was just making a point Brad.

I dont really believe that.

Just trying to turn it around on you. You mentioned earlier in this thread that you get an impression from someone when you see a tattoo on them.

So why are tattoos not smart?

I dont see any reason to get a tatoo. Why? No ones said that yet...

because maybe people like artwork on their bodies?

Alot of people would question your reasoning for visiting SFGAm so many times in a season. I am sure your answer would be that you like it. Others would say you are insane and don't understand it.

The only reason I called you out on this is because you linked OReilly in this thread. You know damn well his views on tattoos and that people with tattoos wont make it in the corporate world. That is straight up ignorant and narrow minded.

Heck, the vice president of Siemens Medical Solutions where I work has a tattoo. He pulls in 6-digit figures and is at the top of the corporate ladder.

OReilly is a tool.

This proves my point on brad thinking he better than people here. I fyou don't understand the logic behind tatoo's, and somebody else does, then why try to make them feel stupid. Whats the logic behind that?
