Can you say, Hurricane Harbor?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I hope they dont just repave a couple of spots. That would look so ugly. It would make it look even uglier than it looks now.

Well over on coaster-net it says that SFA is getting rid of their waterpark after labor day this year. Six Flags could be sending some of their slides to Great America to save money.

So wait who knows for sure if they are going to build it next to Viper?

I see more people being hired next year, and a lot more foreign workers next season.

^The waterpark isn't going to be open this time next year (most likely). They will staff it during the summer when it's hot outside, probably Memorial day to Labor day when it's easy to get employees.

I've just read this page. So did someone say that there would be staffing issues with fright fest and the water park?

Because yes, the water park would obviously be closed.

Actually, the waterpark will most likely stay open until ( For this year if there was one... ) September 12th, as that is when SFGAdv's HH closes, and they are of a similar geograpic location to ours. So I'd expect about the same hours.

You have to remember that a majority of the positions in waterparks are trained lifeguards.

If the pay is right, they can easily steal these people from local pools, lakes, park district aqua centers, etc.

True, but if you can get lifeguards that are already certified, that would be the ideal choice.

Actually most waterparks bring in hired help from the outside to do certification, at least thats what Geneva did with their pools. And for payment of it, basically you paid 75 upfront and then after you worked the summer they'll give you your 75 back, so I'd expected SFGAm to do something similiar.

Oh and the grapvine says Sept. 16 is the date where all will be known.

Heh, reading the news headline "GA to make an announcement September 16th" on the front page got me really excited for some odd reason.

"I need to make a phone call."

"Hello...." "....Goodbye"

I'm now even more excited to finally see the actual plans that I have been hearing so much about.

I would also expect to see the back parking lot have a lot of construction completed before this weekend.
