Fright Fest signs

Perfectly said!! I couldn't agree more. It IS a family park and I think that they do a great job seperating the scary stuff from the not-so scary stuff. I mean I have seen parents take little kids into Necropolis and it is not a pretty sight! I give many props to Great America to sticking to their roots and having stuff for everyone!
I have some ideas that I would do if I ran fright fest. In carosuel plaza, I would keep the decor mainly the same, but put flame throwers in the reflection pond to go along with the torches, and run the carosuel backwards. nOt to make it freaky but its really bizare looking and would sorta creep some people out. These could be 5 foot tall flame throwers that look like fountains of fire and go off periodicly. They could be supplied by jpm. The characters there could be zombies and vampires drenched in blood. Carosuel plaza doesnt turn into a scare zone until 7 though because of the little kids and stuff still leaving the park.
The pictorium could be the location of a new haunted house called hells hospitol. It can be a strobe filled insany assylum where people are bouncing off the walls, a lab/ operating room where crazy experiments are taking place to replace human body parts with animal ones and you can guess what that would look like, and rooms with strobes, hanging plastic body bags, doctors jumping and screaming at you from every turn, and people lying down on those operating beds screaming for help. It be so freaky. SWT could be a texas chainsaw massacre section. As you walk in theres the music from the movie playing. The land could be total chaos. Once you cross under the bridge, the mood switches from earie to complete chaos. There could be several old police cars with their sirens and lights flashing, several rows of clothes drying hangers set up in front of terror twister with strobes behind them, and all leatherface chainsaw men and crazy police officers everywhere. there could be a haunted house like the house or the mil in the movie. I gotta go have dinner so I cant write anymore. All edit and add more later. I know not too much of this is posible except the carosuel plaza stuff but whatever. Welcome to The O.C. biatch
There are alot of cool ideas that i have heard. I agree it would be cool to have alot more characters and have blood on them etc. We are lucky to have the blood that we have already. If any of you remember last year was the first year since before 9/11 that we could use blood.
Before I worked for JPM I tought alot of it sucked, and things needed to be changed. But when you work your butt of trying to make everything go right and trying to scare the guest, but at the same time NOT scare the little kids, it can be hard work. Always fun - but still. I really wish alot of you would come work for us, not only to experiance fright fest on the other side, but to make you relize what goes on and hopefully give you a different opinion on it all. Like I said I don't mean to be B**** about everything. I just want you all to get a good understanding on it all. BTW - I went to training for lead stuff - and my boss gave us prices on running this event - OMG!! I couldnt efford it if i have 100 grand every year lol. just to inform ya lol and it goes up with more characters!

honestly i dont remember....o yes, you said something about MOT being part of Necropolis and someone snapped back saying no that necropolis was walk through only, so i was telling them that MOT was inside Necropolis. sorry if i ran off topic or something or what not

I've actually given a lot of thought about how i would run fright fest if if had unlimited recources. Carousel would have mostly the same stuff, but over by superstion would be a group of 6 gypsy J+S characters. Hometown Sqaure would be themed around the stage with a big pre-show to hte scooby doo mystery train and the line going down the wheelchair entrance. Then have the show go along the whole train route instead of just half. Around the square would be a group of Werewolfs and sliding werewolfs. I would keep SWT the same except addign a lot of Indian type characters the "Muerto Miners" and the "Muerto Indians". I would also have Dead and Breakfast return. Then in County Fair, I would put the Evil clowns back by REVY and open up the "Circus of the Bizzare" haunted house in The Skeedaddle arcade. There would be an "Icon" type character like Mayor Slayer called "The Ringmaster." Yukon would stay a kiddie zone. In Yankee I would make a "Batman Villains Meet n' Greet" and have a bunch of Evil Doctors and Asylun Patients. Mardi Gras Would Bring back the old "King Louis" and "Marie Antoinette" characters. Have the "Mardi Gras Revelers" and add "King Chaos" and the "Bayou Caretaker". And Orleans would stay the same with like a thousend buffy vamps. I would have about a million characters in Necropolis. I would put a "Freddy Vs. Jason" show in the Southwest Amphiteatre. And a "Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries" show in Theatre Royale. There would be about a thousend looney tunes dressed up around the park. Plus I would put the Pirates on the Yukon-Yankee Bridge and the Trolls in the "Illinois Trollway." I would rename all sections. SCAREousel Plaza, GHOST-town Square, County SCARE, Southwest TERRORtory, Yukon SCAREitory, HAUNTED Harbor, Mardi GORE, and GOREleans Place. Then in '05, they would open up Hurricane Harbor as CAIRO Harbor, and have a bunch of Egypt themed Creatures. With the "Icon" ANUBUS. And a new Haunted House "The Crypt" with the Catch phase "ANUBUS is waiting." Wow, that was a long post.

I get sooo confused between Micheal Myers and Jason... I've seen Halloween H2O once...but which character is from that movie again??? LOL

Agreed. That would be sweet. Thye could have the theme music playing throughout the whole train. For the setup at the hometown square station he could come form the ceiling like he did in H20. That would scare alot of people silly.
Michael Myers(not to be confused with the comedian) is from the Halloween movies.(But he is not in the 3rd one). Jason is from the Friday the 13th movies. And for anyone who asks, Freddy Krueger is from the Nightmare on Elm Street movies.

Yes the third was the worst. Why would they even consider making a Halloween movie without the star. You have to wonder what they were thinking.

Some people have huge imaginations.
But because six flags only holds 53,000 people, one million characters wouldn't work. Plus, it is hard enough to get 250 actors, one million would be insane. You cannot make the Train too scary because kids ride it. People have to realize a couple things here. You cannot overhire people because the park only allows a certain amount. You cannot make the whole park scary because it is a family park. You cannot have 3, 4 or 5 haunted houses, financially it wouldnt work out. You cannot make the pictorium into a haunted anything, it is all stadium seating and people will not be able to walk anywhere. You cannot make the Carousel go backwards, the motor is a one way, one speed motor, although this is the best idea anyone has had. I agree with one thing, being one that works in Necropolis, I believe that we need more charcters in that area. Last year we seemed to be a little short on scary people. We did our best though and I know I scared many people. Some of these ideas are good but very unrealistic. FF starts for us(characters) in one month, can't wait.  Big Mike

I know you cant make the train too scary. It was just a cool idea and we know it wont happen. We all know it is a family park and it cant be too scary but people can still throw around their ideas. Sorry if anything sounded rude.

I totally agree with you about the 3rd halloween movie. It sucked even though that is the only halloween movie I have seen all the way through. I remember anticipating Michael Myers in it but then all they showed were those stupid robots and then to kill people with the masks is stupid. I think they should theme the thing after the 1st halloween movie. Usually the first one is the best when it comes to horror movies. I want the sfgam survivor to be held every July and August.

Arite, more ideas. For necropolis, wherever theres plants and stuff and that big open area where they put props, make that all corn. Necropolis would be so cool if it was a near corn maze.
As for the rest of the park, I allready posted my ideas about swt, pictorium, and carosuel plaza. County fair should stay a non-scare zone because most of the coasters with the lower height limits are over there, and hometown and ukon are non scare zones also. Orleans place would again be a nightmare on bourbon street, and mardi graz have clowns and stuff. That be awesome if the killer clowns had chainsaws. The troll bridge should be back over by necropolis, and Another new scare zone should be salem. Salem would be yankee harbor and it would contain witches and sailors. All new england stuff. So in all, The left side of the park has a house and 4 scare zones, the enterance would be cool, and the right side of the park would have one scare zone and a 2 houses (sleepy hollow or texas chainsaw plus hells hospitol). Jw. Is there a backstage area in the pictorium? I understand how you cant put a haunted house in a theatre, but maybe theres a basement or something. I just think the building looks so cool. Wouldn't it be cool if space shuttle america had a special FF ride? Now that's obviously not going to happen considering budget but that would be amazing.
