The Travel Channel does some good coverage on coasters. They also have some very good videos on their website. Coasterweek happens about once a year. Does anyone get this channel and if they do, do they watch coaster shows when they are on?

I don't have cable and it really sucks. My parents think its too expensive and its a waste of time. My god, my life is BORING without cable. I used to go to a babysitters that had cable, I was quite addicted to it! But anyways, it would be awesome to watch a coaster show or something. Too bad I can't... :x

If it's new, I'll watch it. Otherwise, I'll probably flip to Tech TV and watch one of those shows, unless it's Tech Of: Rollercoaster. Thats one of the worst done coaster shows I've seen, so then I'd go to Cartoon Network. So basically, since there are like only 2 or 3 new coaster shows a year, I don't watch them, because I've more than likely already seen them.

What company does Tech TV or is it an independent station? I don't think we get that out by my house.

I hate the top 10 coaster shows where they rate some old crappy ride number 2 or 3 because its from the 1930's. Who cares how old it is. There are way better rides out there that deserve the spot instead.
My Top 5: 1)TTD, 2)Millennium Force, 3)Raptor, 4)Deja Vu, 5)Raging Bull

Yeah, the top ten shows are kind of lame, because it's all a matter of opinion. But hey, they're still way fun to watch! Even if they're opinionated, you still see and learn interesting things about them...

There are too many Cedar Point shows out there. It gets hyped up by the media, so everyone wants to go there. On one of those coaster shows, I think I might have seen BTR only.

All those shows are about are SFMM and CP, with a random smaller park thrown in there. It's usually in Southern Cali. or around CP. (like Hershey Park)

Hmm, might be me but I'm sick of learning about S:TE and how it's the world's best coaster since all these were made in 2002/2003.
Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro
Top 5 Steel- 5-Velocicoaster 4- Maverick 3- Fury 325 2-Steel Vengeance 1-X2
Coaster Count: 444

I used to watch them then turn it off a few minutes after it starts, absolute garbadge. Typical media.. They all take out random people at media days and film them commentating rides, whee .
However, I do enjoy the ones that have the proffesionals talking instead of random people, like the shows that take you behind the scenes at Disneyland or something or the "making of a coaster" type show.

Last year they had a show on (Discovery Channel actually I believe) and it was more like a contest. See how far you can hit a target off of the bungee ride like SFGAm has, see if you puke after eat and go on a rollercoaster, and the other was spin and go on a narrow beam. I would rather see rides than a gameshow.

However, if it's on again, I would probably watch just because there aren't many rollercoaster shows out there. I know on Sept. 6, they having some about WDW, Dollywood, and some other ones on Travel Channel. These are old, but I never got Travel Channel before.

Also on Sept. 6, they are having WATERPARKS 2004 which might interest you guys. The series name is something like What would do on your summer vacation.

I thought that was the most pointless SFMM puff piece I had ever seen.

The challenges were quaint, but I thought the entire premise was just another way to present SFMM. If it wasn't, one would have seen other episodes.

I haven't seen one but I saw a little POV of riddler's revenge on there. Too bad I had to leave the house after that.
I want the sfgam survivor to be held every July and August.
