plus will the go cart track fit in there? i mean they would have to redesign the track so that it fits between the cars thing. the space is skinny and wide so i dont see how it would work. but what ever
You don't know what you are talking about.....Splash water is a huge area, Splash water can be removed, Go karts will fit there, and please think before you post.
As for the person who said that the current go cart track wouldn't fit there, do you think that they are going to magically move the track thats in the ground....?
technop wrote:well i go once a week, and each day i go, splashwater falls is longer then all the water rides. so do you go once a week? do you watch the lines? if you dont go as much as i do, its really hard to tell. and going once a week i know that splashwater falls is VERY popular
Yes, Splashwater falls can get very popular, just as much as any of the other water rides. But, it has to be a sunny day.
are you telling me they are gonna tare down a popular ride to relocate a NON popular ride? thats just plain wrong. im not saying your wrong, its wrong on six flags part.
Winner's Circle is a very popular ride at times. They make more money off of it than Splashwater Falls. Six Flags is not wrong. They are there everyday and they see everything and they know all the figures of attendance, food and gift sales, and anything else. You say you go, Once a week?
I wonder is they will just recreate the go cart track like make the same one or make it better. I hope its better.Technop you have 16 posts and have been called an idiot like 5 times welcome to the site lol.
I like how all of this is shaping up. I also like to see the common sense that has exhibited itself in here!!!
As a preference/opinion:
I would love to see Splash Waterfalls taken out and moved to the water park. The Dells and Oceans of Fun both have a splashdown in their waterparks.
I would love to see the go-karts removed from the sterile front corner of the park and integrated with the old-time cars. I would hope the old-time cars would not bit the dust in order for an upcharge.
I am concerned about the frequency that I might need to park in the overflow lot, but feel it is far worth it for a waterpark addition. With this concern, I would hope they would at least build a cross-over walkway over the entrance/exit road for pedestrian traffic to move from the overflow lot to the main lot. It seems that the overflow will be used more and it makes sense for the guest and the driver coming into the park - not to have to deal with each other. Any comments?
I must admit that I have never had to park in the overflow lot, but I don't see the big deal. I've parked all the way out in the last row of spaces in the regular lot and its really not that bad of a walk. maybe its the evil programming I received during health class, but what's so bad about walking a few hundred feet? I totally understand that guests will be walking all day long and that, at the end of the day, they'll be tired and not want to walk, but really, if you can't walk a little ways to your car, something's wrong.
besides my little "lets get America into shape" spiel, I'm not so sure that the overflow lot will be used all that much. it seems like most of the space being taken over by the waterpark is busses. I realize there are regular spaces near the Go Karts that would be removed too (that used to be *my* spot), but it'll only be the high traffic days that the overflow lot will need to be used. more people will have to use it at once, but the number of days it'll be needed should be limited.
as for the ride relocation, I like the idea of the two car rides being near each other. they would compliment each other well. but I don't like the idea of SWF moving to the water park. to me, SWF is too much of a ride for a water park. maybe that's just me and my screwed up ideal of water parks, but roller coaster-type rides don't fit in a water park. slides, pools, and innertubes are what water parks are all about to me...well that and the dreaded "warm spot."
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
If you look at that picture, you can see how the current parking spaces create a "cicrcle" that conforms with the park.
You can expect that when the lot is redone that the spaces will be parallell, therefore creating a bliss of new spaces.
Those spots are all ready 'parallel'... Sorry but I don't get what you're saying? Maybe somebody can help with a graphic? Sorry my mind isn't working or something...
SFGA Bob wrote: it seems like most of the space being taken over by the waterpark is busses.
Even more reason why they should at least put in an open-aired skywalk. No reason to expect tour groups to stay organized and cross oncoming traffic from the parking fee booth.
Otherwise, I agree .. The walk itself is no big deal.

Well, there are waterparks that have and operate them. It's not that big of a deal. I know I much rather ride one while in a swimming suit near a towel and lounge chair.
i still dont think they are getting rid of splash water falls, the go karts wouldnt fit there its to skinny of a space. to put the go karts in that spot
I will NEVER CHANGE MY OPINION on the hurricane harbor thing until it's built where you guys "say" it will be. And how do we even know it's gonna be called hurricane harbor. I mean there isn't even much of a hint that any of the things you say are true except for the fact that they will get a water park next year or the year after that. So my point is that this topic has gone way way past RUMORS. IF SIX FLAGS HASNT OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED THE NEW WATER PARK, WHY WOULD THEY TELL PEOPLE WERE ITS GONNA BE BUILT OR WHATS MOVING WERE. And as for SWF i dont believe that either, because its been a part of the park for along time now and its popular. no one is gonna be able to afford to pay for the theme park and go pay for the water park in 1 day. and when you leave SF you need a hand stamp. why would they move all the water rides to the water park. hand stamps wash off. and, as far as the lights laying down in the overflow lot, yes they could be laying down for safty, or they could be laying down, waiting for the big truck to come and take them away. there was a picture on the first page of this forum with a pic of were the park would be, and personally the over flow lot is bigger. but thats MY OPINION and until i hear officially other wise other then from this forum. I DONT CARE. Why dont we all just stop talking like we know everything and wait and see.
ANOTHER THING. read the back of your season pass. it states "since your id has ben processed at the park for which it was purchased, your season pass may now be used at any six flags theme park, enchanted village/wild waves, the great escape, la ronde and wyandot lake on reular operating dates THiS IS WHAT IM GETTING AT >>>> "NOT VALID AT WATERPARKS OR FRONTIER CITY/WHITEWATER BAY"
Your season pass is not valid at water parks, so if they move SWF to the waterpark, you better be ready to pay admition to the water park just to get wet once and then return to the SF park with your handstamp washed off. why move water rides out of the park when there so popular. that would be a bad idea on six flags part.
Chitown wrote:Once again, the waterpark will be constructed starting where the go-karts are now and snake around Viper into part of the buslot.
The Go-Karts are to be relocated where Splashwater Falls is now.
The backlot will not have anything to do with the new waterpark.
Any backlot construction is to add new vehicle capacity.
Stop speculating because this is how it is supposed to go down.
Technop, Chitown is a mod here and has been here for over a year... He isn't known for starting rumors, and would not say that if he did not hear that from a reliable source. Believe what you will, but stop using capital letters for emphasis.
SFGA 11 wrote:I was just thinking of something... Since they are doing construction in the back lot ( im guessing just revaving/re-doing it) What well they do for Fright Fest when they will need that back lot? The bus lot will probably be under construction too. Hopefully they will try to get the lot done during August and September.
Im guessing they will not start construction of the water park until after the park is closed for the season, as the press release said somewere in it that it was start building after season ended or beginning of winter. it doesnt have to be ready by next year but i bet it will. and last year i went to fright fest 5 times in october and i never saw the backlot being used. but maybe that was just the days i went. anyway
but do you understand what i am saying, There isnt enough room were SWF is to put the go karts, trust me i ride that ride alot and i just dont get how it will fit
The Go-Karts' cement track can be much more easily configured than that of a coaster. All it is is cement with tire barriers. I'm not even sure if they would re-use the cement or if that is event possible... But the tire barriers can be set-up in different arrangements fairly easily.
technop, not all of the water rides are being moved. there is only speculation that SWF will be moved to the water park.
and if this thread were nothing but wild rumors, then it would be locked by the mods. this thread is not rumors, though, its (usually) intelligent discussion of what *may* happen based on the little information we have been given. a rumor is when you present your opinions/wishes/dreams as fact which no one is doing here. just chill out and enjoy the speculation.

It's funny that some people hate topics, but yet they keep on posting in them. Also, people complain about old topics, but yet they hate when I create new ones.
They need to make the go-karts better such as having ramps, and hills. Big Chief in Wisconsin would be the type of go-karts that would be better. Your paying extra for them, so you would expect them to be so much better than the other rides.
Jesus Christ Technop, are you single handedly trying to destroy this topic?
Shut your fat mouth if you dont think us talking about next year for god sakes. Take a look at the Tos while your at it.
TOS
NOW to get back on topic. Is it een possible to move concrete slabs? I dont think so, I do believe we wil lsee a whole new go cart configuration where Splash Water Falls used to be.

...If you're going to make an arguement on the side of your opinion, at least correct your facts... there has been NO PRESS RELEASE about the waterpark yet. It HAS NOT been officially announced. Now, I don't think that this will happen (especially after Six Flags told it's investors of the plan), but it is possible for the park to not build a waterpark at all, to change their mind. It has happened before (Six Flags Entertainment Village). Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that nothing is set in stone until the project is at least publicly announced... and even then, things change in construction. So stop speaking like you know everything.
