I don’t think they would remove parking lights to repave or reconfigure the back lot. From the looks of it appears that a large parking structure is going to be built or the water park is going in the back lot.
As for the Bus lot, I thing something is going there too, why well because the good old Motor Home booths are on site. 2 of them to be exact.
No, we are not getting a coaster.(I know that's what you were implying.) The best bet would be 1. waterpark in front of Viper and around it. 2. repavement of back lot with more parking spaces.
I dont know if anyone already posted this but, THey have started taring down the lighting and tree's from the second parking lot (the lot located to the RIGHT of the Parking Lot Admittion's which is rarely used), they are taring up the lights, tree's and asvalt, thats a very large area. so im assuming that is the location of the new water park, and i know there is alot of area behind the tree's in that space so they will have tons of room for the water park.
P.S. who ever is trying to say that the water park is being built next to Viper were the buses park is wrong, you cant fit one there, its just not enough room. Remember they are building a WATER PARK. water parks are not little. they are usually big

well since all you people seem to think you work for six flags and think you know everything, why dont you ask security, i know one of them, and they would know before you. or before this website or before anyone else, they know these things becuase they work for 6 flags.,
I asked a supervisor that was on Sky Trek Tower along with a newbe, (Train operator working Sky Trek Tower) and she said that it is going to be in back of Viper, and the backlot is going to be repaved. The train employee was quite shocked to hear this. Ron/Wolf also said this awhile ago in this topic.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Yeah, whoever it was that said there is not enough room, is plain out stupid. As a matter of fact, there may be more room by viper than there would be where you think its gonna go.
ok, im not trying to be mean, im trying to say, WHY WOULD THEY SPEND EXTRA MONEY REMOVING LIGHTING JUST TO REPAVE THE PARKING LOT, They can expand a parking lot without moving lighting, it wouldnt make sense to get of the closer parking or bus parking and make people park further back, what makes people say that the water park has to be right next to it., it can be acrossed from it. i dont even see why all these people fight. why cant me and you and we all just wait and see what happens and stop trying to pretend we know more then anyone else when we all dont know anything about this
Err.... I believe your the one that came in here without reading the topic and said whoever said it was by viper was wrong.
Its very feesable that the lighting has been removed in order to Reconfigure the parking spaces. The current design of the parking lot was made to be more than enough for what was needed, while also looking nice. If they are recofiguring the parking lot, The lights would obviously need to be moved to.
Settle down

i see what your saying space wise, i was getting confused and thinking about behind raging bull.. im totally in the wrong area, but so they build it behind the viper. there not gonna tell Vipor or Raging bull that they cant run are they? they bettter build some kind of wall to block the sound
Maybe they decided one day, "Hey, we are going to chop down some trees so why don't we knock down these lightposts too?"
No seriously, since they are going to be using that lot MUCH more next season maybe they are tearing most of it up and not just putting on a brand new coat. Maybe they will pour Asphault.

becuase i know at one park they dont use tidal wave or rolling thunder or what ever its called because it interferes with the life guards, i hope they learn from there mistakes in building a water park so close to roller coasters, vipor and raging bull are my favorite rides, i would hate to seem them not work
Well they are not removing the lighting... I believe they are just going to redo the entire lot, the lights are laying on their side for safety, and are not being destroyed... I.e. they are going to be reused... Why, if they were going to put the waterpark there save lights that are quite old and would only be valuable as scrap metal?
Really I wouldn't be suprised to see this ( after the park closes for the season) happen to the entire lot. I'm not sure but are all of these lights original from the Marriott days? If so, things do ( shock gasp...) degrade over time, and need to be rebuilt.
I think this may be the beginning of a long overdue rebuild of the parking lot...
They really did need to figure out a better exit, its chaos after close...
Oh, and who said all $35 million had to go to the waterpark, this may be part of improvements for the waterpark... 35 sounded like a lot, so if they redo the entire lot, well that number sounds much more reasonable.
why would they get rid of splash water falls, the lines are always VERY long, so its VERY popular. are you telling me they are gonna tare down a popular ride to relocate a NON popular ride? thats just plain wrong. im not saying your wrong, its wrong on six flags part.
p.s. the lines are longer then any of the water rides usually, longer than ice mountain, longer than loggers run, longer than roaring rapids. people like that ride
Splashwater Falls' queue is rarely longer than Logger's Run or Roaring Rapids. I believe Roaring Rapids is the most popular water ride in the park.
Thanks for the info Chitown. Who knows, Splashwater falls may be relocated to the new waterpark. It will also be kind've cool to have the Go-Karts by the Looney Tunes Speedway cars.
well i go once a week, and each day i go, splashwater falls is longer then all the water rides. so do you go once a week? do you watch the lines? if you dont go as much as i do, its really hard to tell. and going once a week i know that splashwater falls is VERY popular
