Can you say, Hurricane Harbor?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Do you really think they are going to add a hotel? I think if they were to add some resort type thing, it wouldn't be that close to the park. But then again your map was just a estimate.

My map was just what I would do. DO I think they would add a hotel...no. Do I wish...Yes.

Meh, Hotels right by the park are taking up some valuable space in my opinion. I don't thats what this park needs though. Becasue at Cedar Point, it has more of a resort feel with the lake and everything. But, a hotel at SFGAm, all there is the park...Er, and the mall.

I would have been all for a hotel and entertainment district before this year, but now that they sold all the land across the highway, any attempt to make a six flags resort would be cheap and small.

I doubt that Six Flags would do much for their standing in the Villiage of Gurnee's eyes by buiulding a hotel. There are already privately owned hotels that would be substantially hurt if SF opened their pwn, especially if there was some exclusive perk to staying on the grounds. Therefore, it would be very dificult, I think , to get Gurnee approval.

Plus, the people who live in the surrounding houses have been pretty much guarenteed that guests will be gone by 11... they will protest a huige crowd of people staying overnight in the area.

Okay I dont get the point of everyone trying to figure out where the waterpark is going to be. we will find out soon enough and all these pages on it can be setting us all up for a big disapointment. But what do i know?

I don't understand what your saying... How can we be setting up for a big disappointment... I mean we know we're getting a waterpark, I really don't care where, I do have my ideas as to where its going ( ...cough bus lot...) But how would it be a disappointment if it was in the back lot? Really I don't care where it is, I just know it is coming, and thats what really matters. At least we haven't started debating which slides we'll be getting... ( Oh great, shouldn't have said that...)

If Six Flags would get a hotel I don't think they would put it in the park area and destroy more parking spaces.

If I were SFGAm, I would build an indoor waterpark compared to an outdoor because it's near Chicago, and this way it could be open longer with hours and with times of year. It's most likely not going to happen, but you would really make some money with an indoor one.

I was surprised to see how many resorts in Wisconsin having waterparks in them. However, I think an indoor 24 acre waterpark would cost more than the 35 million.

An indoor waterpark of the same size(whatever that may be) would definately cost more than an outdoor one.

For you that don't know. Winner's Circle covers a pretty large area, and would make room for well over 200 spaces. But I still am pretty sure that the waterpark will end up between Winner's Circle and the Bus lot and Bull.

Because we are getting a waterpark, I think the help will be pretty bad. With things considering, that's a lot of employees to add to the waterpark. If they put that law into effect, that you have to be 18 (maybe) to operate a ride, that's downright terrible for both parks.

not really...all you have to do is move all the 16 and 17 year olds to food and games or other duties around the park.

No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

As you can see we already are understaffed (rides closing at 5) and if suddenly we can't hire 16 and 17 year olds, we might become more understaffed.

actually, I didn't realize that rides were closing early. every time I've been there this year, everything that opened in the morning appeared to be open until close, unless there were mechanical errors or other problems.

I guess SF will just have to start promoting their jobs.

I was just thinking of something... Since they are doing construction in the back lot ( im guessing just revaving/re-doing it) What well they do for Fright Fest when they will need that back lot? The bus lot will probably be under construction too. Hopefully they will try to get the lot done during August and September.

I want to know why they would take out the lights in the backlot just to pave the dang thing.
I want the sfgam survivor to be held every July and August.

It's hard to bring a truck that repaves the parking lot when you have lights in the way. If you notice, the lights are taken down, but they put them on the side.

For the other question, I think it would be down before October comes around. In September, most of the weekdays are closed. They should have plenty of time to do that backlot before Fright Fest.

I will never change my opinion on the hurricane harbor thing until it's built where you guys say it will be. And how do we even know it's gonna be called hurricane harbor. I mean there isn't even much of a hint that any of the things you say are true except for the fact that they will get a water park next year or the year after that. So my point is that this topic has gone way way past rumors.

When I made the title, I never said it was going to be named Hurricane Harbor. It was meant to be original. Fine, I guess I should have called it "Six Flags Waterpark 2005." Not.

Also, we are just assuming that Hurricane Harbor will be the name. It has the best shot.

When I went yesterday I noticed that they had a big spotlight next to one of the bulldozers.

This is a fun topic for me. People see stuff, and tell me about it. If someone locked this topic, I'm sure a waterpark topic would be back up in a couple days.

The lights are gone because they seem to be repaving the backlot. They can get it done in time for fright fest, when they will probably use it at least every saturday. That's all! It's not big deal! And Sfgamer, if you don't like this topic so much just don't post in it!

You can easily repave a parking lot with lightpoles intact. It's been done on the lot before (at least the front one).

Pretty much survey says that the waterpark will start where the go-kart tracks are now and snake around Viper into a portion of the buslot.

My guess on the backlot with the poles going down and alot of trees being cut down in the grassy areas is that they are revamping that lot to accomodate more vehicles. They obviously would have to since they will be losing some front parking lot space.

Surveys are answered by the same people as people like us, or people even less reliable. They have no fact in them. Just a poll that asks where you think it is. in my opinion, polls are the worst source of information on the web.

When I said survey, that was a figure of speech and I was referring to the survey markers in the buslot. Stop reading into stuff to deep, you might hurt yourself.

What I said above is how it is supposed to happen. If you don't want to believe me, fine. I could really care less.
