Animal Kingdom-A Failure???

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I read this article, and you maybe you will see where this person is coming from about the park. http://www.parkoutlet.com/ak.htm

To me, it needs more kiddie moving car rides such as a Pochantos or a Bambi ride. It's Tough To Be A Bug is a good ride, but it seems frightening for kids along with Dinosaur. The thing that bugged me about Animal Kingdom when I was there, was the fact that there are not a lot of animals, and that they don't have a lot of rides.

Anyway, I hope you guys and girls enjoy the article, and do you have an opinion about the park?

Of course there aren't that many rides in it, like you said, it's only 6 years old. When I went there in 2001, there were plenty of things to do, and Premeval Whirl wasn't even there yet.

Also, it's not like Disney is just neglecting it, I mean they are constructing a brand new roller coaster right now that, in my opinion, looks damn fun. I think we need to give AK some more time before we start calling it a "flop".

It will have Expedition Everest starting next year. It will be a huge attraction for the park.

I didn't realize this until I read that article, but AK is the only place that has carnival games (not arcade) in Dinoland. Arcade games are also in Tomorrowland and now in Disney Studios. The person that wrote it said that Walt didn't want any games in his parks.

That's right my bad, but that is what the park has in store for the future.

I went there the year that it opened. I thought I was going to a zoo with rides. It turned out there wasn't much of either.

I like the park. I think with expedition everest open, it will attract more guests, and then the imagineers will probibly be given the green light on developing a new E-ticket attraction like raging spirits in tokyo disneysea or indy at disneyland, or a tarzan/george of the jungle boat ride like the jungle cruise.

I must say that animal kingdom is a poor theme park. It only takes 3 hours to go though everything, even the animal trails (which there isnt many of). The only thrill ride it has right now is Dinosaur which in my opinion is only average. Though the addition of Everest will help out, they need much more context to the park.

I don't think AK is neglected at all, and I wouldn't consider it a "flop". Disney put a lot of money into this park and I know they aren't gonna give up on it.

So what about the rides/attractions??? You have 3 other theme parks and two waterparks to enjoy if you don't think it's that thrilling. The park has to appeal to everyone.

You mean to tell me that AK was the only Disney Park anywhere with failed rides/attractions or changed plans for stuff just becuase something didn't turn out???

And whoever wrote the article...that's their opinion and they can write whatever they want, and that's that.
