Cubs win again 5-1 vs the Rockies and complete the 3 game sweep of the Rockies. The Cubs now have a 1.5 game lead in the wild card and are only 9.0 games back of the Cardnials now :). I perdict the Cubs will take the divison title, after the Cardnials fall apart in late August and September 8).

Rick James died today at age 57, aparently of natural causes somehow, everyone remembers him from the skit from Chappelles Show, the famous line "I'm Rick James B***"."

Hi, I'm back from DC. Glad to see that the Tigers took 3-4 from the White Sox. I'm about to post my TR of SFA. I also got my first KC ride last night.

I just finished a weekend road trip from L.A. to Springfield, IL.

My friend just finished a comic book internship out there, and had to bring back a truck that his mom bought. I couldn't get any time off work, so I flew out to L.A. Friday night and we started driving back immediately, so I could be back for work Monday morning. To make things even more fun - the truck was a 1987 Dodge Dakota with 224,758 miles on it to start with no air conditioning, a loose steering column, and when it idled it shook the entire truck.

We stopped in Las Vegas for a couple of hours and got to see the Coaster at Buffalo Bills (Desperado) and the Manhattan Express at NY NY. It was 5am local time when we passed though, so we didn't get to ride either one. You can see Desperado from almost a mile away lit up at night on I-15. I did manage to take pictures of Manhattan Express during our break in Las Vegas. I don't care if it is TOGO that thing looks awesome especially with the way it dives around all of the NY scenery and above the Strip.

We also stopped at Lakeside Amusement Park in Denver, CO. (Trip report to follow)

In all we travelled 1900 miles passing through Orange,CA , Las Vegas , Arizona, Utah, Vail, CO , Kansas, Missouri and home in IL. We saw such great things that I couldn't possibly list them all here, but I definately have a new found sense of how small we are compared to the natural beauty of this great country. I think everyone should make a trip like this at least once in their life.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

Here is a second funny internet cartoon: Click Here

Does anyone listen to the Al Franken Show? I listened for the first time yesterday. I like this idea of the "Great American Shout Out". In the time between when they introduce Bush at the convention and he starts speaking, everyone goes to their window and shouts "FORGET ABOUT IT!” Sounds like a fun idea.

Ah, I love seeing Al Franken's book, Lying Liars and the Liars Who Tell Them, in book stores. I just have to laugh and say, "The biggest liar is on the cover of the book". Al Franken takes smear politics to a whole new level.

Do I Know You: I requested a copy of the documentary sent to my house :D .

Yes and when he got to the new level, he discovered it was already occupied by Ann Coulter , Rush Limbaugh, G. Gordon Liddy, Sean Hannity, and most of the Fox News Organization. He arrived at that new level on a boat manned by the swift boat vets for truth - except for truly identifying whether or not they were on Kerry's boat and where the majority of their funding came from. :P

Don't worry, the left has their share of idiot blowhards who are in the political entertainment business too (Ted Rall) and organizations with questionable funding (I think it was called Voters for Truth, they are in the same trouble as the Swift Vets).

The point is if all you listen to are these kind of people, then you are really missing out on great political stories, debates, and viewpoints from all sides of an issue.

Not that we can prove, but we do know he has shot and killed several people

Here is some fun from Franken:

Al: Mr. President, I didn't serve in the military as you did, who were some of your buddies in the military.

Bush: Um, stretch, he was a tall guy.

Al: Anyone else?

Bush: Planeman, he flew planes. Um, Sgt. Seed. We called him the seedmiester.

Al: Now I hear you were frequently drinking back then. What was the name of the bar you drank at?

Bush: Barplace

That is just some fun that the liberal shows will give you. Right wing radio won't do anything but say stupid ideas all day.
