I think the years past SFGAM geared FF for Teens and Young Adults. As years have been going on they have shifted it to more of a Family Attraction since after all Families is where the money is.
The way I looked at it is that obviously the kids sections are geared for kids. Also, you can have the train and the Terror Twister to the halloween rides. You also have the antique car ride that has more kidish things.
The graveyard in front is not, along with bodybags, and Necropolis. People hanging from trees and skeletons poping out of the box are not for kids really. I don't know if you guys noticed, but last year they had an array of haunted stuff in back of Columbia Carousel. If you are disappointed, I think it would come with Necropolis. They had that guy spinning which made no sense. I liked that they added the fog in the beginning though. The dark night lights also add to the spookiness after dark. I think that was the foggest Fright Fest. I liked how they used it.
So basically my point is that it is geared more for teens/adults. Also, if you were disappointed with Necropolis, that's not the whole Fright Fest experience. Someone said something about Kiddieland (SFGAm is not Kiddieland), so I do have to congratulate them for having a quite good haunted merry-go-round. They close the doors and they have black lights and all this cool Halloween stuff. It was nothing like the haunted Ameri-Go-Round. It's so much better. However, they don't have anyone scare you because it's a kid's park.
I loved the King Kong thing last year. I hope they do the same thing and add to some other rides. Technically, they never replaced the Sky Whirl haunting (skeletons in the cages). Speaking of Tower Twister, I'm reminded of that sickening statue. Cover him up please. My mom was getting a kick out of it.

Do me a favor and get your head out of your ass. Since when should the park totally cater to your liking?
Since I am willing to bet you are a season pass holder, you provide virtually no revenue to the park during Fright Fest.
The park is going to provide family attractions even during the Halloween event. You sit here and make a big stink about the train not being up to your standards, but as others have stated here, they put 2 trains in operation for the Scooby Doo attraction, and the line in the station was still lengthy.
The only area in the park that really provided somewhat scary moments was in the picnic grove. A few cases in the main park were scary but overall, it's supposed to appeal to everyone.
If you think you can run the event better, take your sorry ass to Guest Relations and complain.
My daughter enjoyed the train ride. Guess I should tell her that it should be discontinued because small minded individuals such as yourself don't approve.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

You just proved my point, it is supposed to appeal to everyone. That is why there is Yukon Territory it is a whole Territory devoted to kids. They have the Spooky Town and the Camp Cartoon Network. They don't need to make the train appeal to children too. If they left the train how it was the kids would have their whole territory to themselves and the scary parts would be secluded to Necropolis and the train. The rest of the park would be pretty much neutral because it isn't too scary. And about me having my head in my ass I think that comment was unessecary, all I am saying is that kids should have their area and we should have ours. I'm not saying that they should turn Fright Fest into a scare fest, the train was the best attraction and its what I like the most, I could care less about Nercropolis if the Boo-Line returned, they could change Necropolis to a kids area if they want.
Families that visit during FF don't want to be secluded to one area of the park for their kids.
You need to integrate attractions where everyone can enjoy themselves.
The way you worded your comments in your previous posts made me say to get your head out of your ass. You sounded like other people's opinion of the train was irrelevant.
The train ride is something that everyone can get on so it makes sense to have it themed to a family attraction for Fright Fest.

They aren't secluded Mardi Gras is there, and all the other flats. Outside of Nercropolis the only remotely scary thing is Jason with the chainsaw. So kids aren't really secluded and when I was a kid I loved staying in the old Bugs Bunny World for hours on end playing in the ball pits going threw the mazes and such.
Clowns are going to haunt Mardi Gras this year. County Fair and Hometown Sqaure should not be scary this year(except for the Trolls), but who knows, things do change.
Another thing to add is that last year, my young neighbor who was 7 at the time, was scared to death to go anyhwere in the park. There was no way for her to get passed Carousel Plaza without the boogie man around the corner. The sad part is, when these monsters see the little kids scared(even thought they can't help it), the monsters still go after the kids. The kids have to leave the park somehow. I had to distract the monsters everytime we went through a scary zone.
I was passing by under the bridge between Yankee Harbor and Orleans Place and their was Jason. I guess their are scarier things in life because I just blatantly laughed at him.
When I was at Fright Fest last year they had this skeleton in a box with some stairs in Necropolis. It was broke one day when I was there, but I think it worked another day. That is so cool. The animatronic gets out of the box and and goes down the stairs and plunges at you. I love things like that.
There are "scary" parts all over the park during that time. You don't even have to go into the park because you see gravestones by the vicious pumpkin.

I think that head was very entertaining but, they need it saying more things. Before, they had that head by the train station and you never could hear him, so they moved it.

I Could hear him when he was in the train station...
I was thinking, what will tim do about shows this fright fest? He'll probably keep Zombie Jamboree and LAFF, but what about the others, we may be seeing some interesting things this year...
Im positive LAFF and Zombie Jamboree are staying, Manny B is coming back with his monster show, and if Susan Rosen got enough requests for her to come back, then she is...otherwise....there could be new shows added to FF like there was during this regular season.

To whoever said that they have never seen a line for the Scooby Doo train they are WAY wrong. Last year I went to Fright Fest every weekend and went on the Scooby Doo train 2 times and everytime I went there was a huge line! Not only children but teens and adults as well. I'm 24 and loved it. The park has to appeal to EVERYONE not just your specific likings. I personally think every year has been great but last year defnitley stood out as being stellar. They do have about 200 other extremley scary haunted houses between IL, WI, and IN if that is what you are looking for but why come to a family theme park and expect that the whole park is going to be decked out with monsters jumping out and "blood" everywhere They defnitley do a great job sectioning off the scary areas from the not so scary areas and kudos to them for that!
Yea, everytime I wanted to ride the train last year, the line was always to big! sometimes they had to cut off some people and they had to wait for the next one...i only got to see the show like 4 times, and I thought it was pretty good....a lot better than pig man!

I say bring back Brutal Planet. That house was kick ass!. The 3d house should go back to being Sadies, Dead and Breakfast. Was the "Controller" around somewhere in 2003?
Candy: What you lookin' at? Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama. Candy: Yeah, you see something you like? Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.
I must say Fright Fest has gone down hill the past few years...there was a guy who told me once that once he leaves it will go down hill until he comes back, but i dont think he came back because it still sucks.. Although they do good decorating and some of the animatronics you can't find anywhere...anyone know who makes the skeletons or the talking skeleton in the coffin or the cat that screams? jw.

You must have been close.

I was, i was basically right next to him. When I was little i loved the train, so we always had to go on it. and my first fright fest that thing creeped me out, i was waiting for the train to come and this random guy in a black box with a purple head started talking. i was scared, well, not really.
How do they do the psyhic in the ball thing? I'm guessing she has to be in the booth because they couldn't just record things when people ask.

I remember that... she was in a room right behind the ball and it was some sort of projector thing, but she can hear everything you say, and if i remember correctly, you can take a picture with her..i guess, lol
