Depends on when maintenence works on the trains, like change the wheels etc. Sometimes if you go in one train it can be rough then go in the same seat in the other train it can be very smooth.
Also if you sit in something like 22 of course it's gonna be rougher. If you sit in 61 it is real smooth.

Black train's been tracking pretty good this season. Actually they all have, i'd say Red feels the most warn because they were using it mainly everyday in May and first half of June. They did some work on Yellow tracks real well now, same with black.
The big thing is they're running all 3, not always at the same time but at least they're using all of them this year.
^ Yeah, I noticed the little pattern they had goin on the past few years. I think last year was yellow & black, '02 was yellow and red, and '01 was red an black. I was almost disappointed because I was figuring that yellow would be off this year. For some reason yellow is my favorite of the three.
Wheels, axels, and what seat you are in are going to determing how smooth it is more than if it was recently painted. The paint shouldn't really have anything to do with it unless there were 3899 coats of paint and they were all chipped at different levels, on the rails.
I was on the black train and usually I look down before going to a seat. This was a row that I could see the wheels and all the good stuff. They must have done something to this train because it didn't look as bad as it was before .
