Cedar Point 7/27-7/28

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby B&M Floorless Wanter on July 30th, 2004, 2:52 am
Me, My Mom, and my freind from school went to Cedar Point

July 27th 2004
Crowds-Very Low
Weather- Light Rain, Drizzling

Whenwe got to cedar point we had to get a wheelchair cause my mom is having problems with her knee with the wheelchair came a pass where we can make apointments for rides and ride the ride at a certain time and at that time we can ride the ride by skipping through the exit and riding the ride in any row we want. so when we got to the park we headed towared Raptor where the wait was only 10 minuetes so we went on that 3 times twice in the back and once in front then after that we made an apointment to go on dragster in 45 minuets For Front Row.

so while we were waiting we went on millenium force once in the front row which was only a 20 minuete wait so we went on that twice and it was fun, it was like Raging Bull except a better drop and a little more air time. after that we headed toward Dragster when we went threw the exit on the ride I noticed that one of the gear wheels wasent working that good and they had to have 5 mechanics come to the station and push each car into the station after 10 minuets of waiting they launched a couple of cars with me my freind and my mom on them and right when we got off of the ride it started to drizzle a little and the Ride Ops for dragster shut down the ride cause of the rain and because they had to fix the Broken Gear Wheel.

So after we got off of dragster we got on Mantis which was a 15 minuete wait but since there were stairs and my mom has problems with stairs because of her leg we went on the elevator to get to the mantis station and we got to ride mantis front row and it was really fun.

going down the Exit ramp we noticed that Millenium Force only had a 25 Minuete Wait so we went on that once which was a lot of fun cause we were in the back row where we felt some pretty good airtime.
after Millenium Force we went on the Railroad train to Mean Streak where there was almost a walk on but we wanted to go back row to feel how rough this ride really was and it was Really rough. and it was pretty rough but it couldve been more rough because there were brakes on the drop that slows you down through the turns. but overall it was a great ride. after we went on it 3 times we stopped at an Old West Salloon Where we ate Lunch.

After we ate we headed toward Gemini where it was a walk on so we went on it twice we would of went on it more but it started to rain and they closed the ride. so we went on to Magnum Xl-200 which is one of my favorite rides because it gives a great view and it has so much airtime in the Front and Backrow of the train. we went on that 4 times 3 times in back and once in the front.

Once it stoped raining they tested Dragster so we went over there and made an apointment to go on the ride because my mom had a disabuility pass cause she had Knee Problems, after we got the time for the ride we headed over to Corkscrew which is a demon except it has only one Vertical Loop instead of 2 and it also has a Double Corkscrew just like demon. We went on that twice and then headed over to the Top Thrill Dragster Stand to Watch the dragster test and it Valleyed twice in a row with noone on it. once it opened we went up to the exit with my mom and she rode it with us in the front row and she had a blast she kept screaming the whole time and i was just laughing the whole time Overall it was a Amazing ride. :D

After we got off dragster we made another Apointment for dragster so we can ride it again. once we got the apointment we were of and running toward Wicked Twisted and i was pushing my mom on the Wheelchair as fast as i could because Wicked twister is almost the same Intamin Impulse Coaster as V2 Vertical Velosity except Wicked Twister has another Twist going backwards. the good thing about twister is that it doesent really always have a long line unless it is a really crowded day, But the wait for us was 10 min for front row and we went on it 4 times

When we got off of the Twister i noticed a Big Building that said 12-E on the side of it, and I was curious to see what kind of coaster it was so we waited 30 Minutes for this Dark coaster and I was so surpised of how bad a coaster it was and how short it was. And in my Opinion Disaster Transport is one of the worst rides at Cedar Point

While the Crowds seemed to get smaller the more rides we got to ride and it was still 5:00 Wow. So After we went on Disaster Transport we went over to Blue Streak a small Philedelphia Tobogan Wooden Rollercoaster but still alot of fun. After we rode Blue Streak twice we headed over to dragster where we rode again Front row which was so much fun especially when you are in front row because you see everything and the view from the top is stunning. We also went on Millenium Force two more times in front row again which was also really fun

Since we could only ride Dragster 3 times with the wheelchair pass me and my freind waited in line while my mom watched from the dragster stand. so the wait was an hour and a half and it was getting dark so we decided to wait for front row again but this time on dragster it was different There were bugs Lots of them, they have lights that shine on the ride and bugs are attracted to the lights so when they get by the track they ram into the people at 120 mph and they hurt after me and my friend got off the ride we counted how many dead bugs were on us and i had about 25 on me and he had about 30 on him so just a suggestion for you people that are going to cedar point Dont go on Top thrill dragster in front row at night because the bugs hitting you really really hurt and mess up your ride.

It was getting late and we had to go soon so we choose to go on millenium force one more time and then heading back toward Raptor then leaving the park.

Overall The day at Cedar Point was one of the best days of my life
that i have ever had

July 28th 2004
Crowds-Moderate
Weather- Sunny

After riding all those rides the day before we were exaughsted so we didnt get to the park untill 11:00 we got a wheelchair again because of my moms knee, but when we got inside of the park it was really really crowded Raptor had a 2 hour wait, Blue Streak had an hour wait and when we got to dragster it was a 2 and a half hour wait with almost all of the switchbacks going so we got ride apointments for dragster and millenium force using the disabuility pass for my mom, and we headed to the back of the park where we waited 30 minuets to go on Mean streak but it was worth the wait then we went toward gemini and waited 30 minuets for and it was fun because that ride gives some pretty good air time. after gemini we headed back to milenium force with the pass we rode front row which was alot of fun.

After that great ride on millenium force we headed toward dragster where we rode front row Which was a blast because this time there wasent any bugs smacking into our faces. we got off of dragster and we made another apointment for it and we headed toward Magnum which was a 45 minuete wait but it was well worth it.

Even though we were having fun we didnt really want to wait in lines so we walked down the coast and we saw the Jet Ski Rentals and Parasailing and i told my mom i wanted to do Jet skis so when we got to the booth we told them i was 16 even though i am 14 and they said i could rent a Jet Ski
and it was so much fun because i got to rent a jet ski for an hour i was goin all out Wave jumpin going full speed doing high speed turns ripping up the water, it was so much fun and i was riding with my freind on the back of the Wave Runner Jet Ski. I had so much Fun on it. After we went on Jet skis we ate at TGI FRIDAY'S and i had a Jack Daniels Chicken which was really good

When we got back to cedar point we noticed that the crowds went significantly down, the wait for wicked twister was only 20 minuets so we went on it twice then headed over to raptor again and rode that once then we went back to dragster were we rode that once then we headed over to Mantis where the wait was only 20 minuets so we went on that twice once in front and once in the back. Mantis is a type of ride that i wish was at great america instead of iron wolf because it has different types of inversions for different people.

After the rides on mantis we headed toward Mean streak again where the line for it was 20 minuetes so we waited in line for it once then we went back to magnum where we rode that 2 times also. we went on dragster one more time, then we went on corkscrew twice then we waited 30 minuetes for front row on millenium force. by the time we got off of that we watched snoopys laser light show which was really cool cause the lasers made pictures of the rides and stuff which was cool. then last but not least we went on dragster then Raptor then we left.

Overall my Trip to Cedar Point was amazing we got to ride dragster, millenium force, and all the Rollercoasters From Cedar point which was worth the trip and hopefully next year they will add another great rollercoaster that i can ride on.

How many appointments were you able to make? Forty-nine rollercoasters seems like you used it a lot. This is why handicapped passes are bad. They give someone more a chance a riding a ride than someon who is not injured. I think what parks should do is have handicapped people wait the same time as if you were actually in the line. You also used it for front row which takes much longer.

Two days and the waits seemed minimal. He only really made appt.'s for Dragster and MF (mostly in front row though, which seems wrong.) so he probably didn't use the pass that much for much else.

Sounds like you had a great time though.

Wasn't the pass for your mom? It didn't sound like she used it a lot.

Glad you had a fun time! Cedar Point is always great, whether you have 2 hour waits or 2 minute waits.

its just the lines were so short cause it was raining and there was noone there and the longest line i waited in was 45 minuetes for dragster before it rained and before it closed

but almost every other ride had a 5, 10, 15, or 30 minuete wait

Glad to hear you enjoyed the good old PO!NT. It's a shame you didn't enjoy Disaster Trasnport. That ride can be a lot of fun. I'll admit I didn't read it all because the typing was a little . . . yeah . . . What did you think of Raptor compared to B:TR and also Mantis compared to IW?

With the freeway you can get on in about 20 minutes. . . but during the middle of the day it's usually around an hour or so - give or take 20 minutes.

well for millenium force we waited 30 minuetes for front row

and comparing B;TR to Raptor i would have to say raptor cause of the cobra roll and more inversions and the 2 corkscrews

and for mantis i love that ride but iron wolf would be better with the newercars that mantis has but i still like them both
