Best Ride Ops?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby coasterman2004 on July 22nd, 2004, 4:11 pm
What ride at SFGAM do you think has the best ride ops? I have been to SFGAM about 10 times this year and have come to the conclusion that SUF has the best ops compared to last year. I think SFGAM installing bins has really helped that ride. They don't stack the trains as often as they used and most of them seem to be working hard as of recently. Major props to the Superman crew keep up the good work of not stacking and keeping that line moving. Some of the crews I have been disappointed with this year has been Raging Bull and Batman. Raging Bull sometimes stacks trains with 2 trains! That is ridiculous. Batman crew also doesn't seem to be moving fast compared to last year.

Anyways what ride has the best ride ops this year?

Raging Bull and Batman. :) Every time I've been to the park this year their crews have been fast.

I gotta agree, Raging Bull's crew are some of the nicest employee's I've talked to at any Six Flags park, and Batman's crew is very very fast.

I agree with you too. Batman seems to be really quick and batman does too. But eagle is slow moving.

I would have to say that Am E has the slowest ride ops. The real reason for this is because they race the trains especially this year more than ever.

I have to give credit for D Vu , V2, and BTR for being three of the fastest rollercoasters ops.

Since, I never want to leave out my flats. This is the slowest year for Condor with the addition of the seatbelts.

The fastest ride ops this year would be Fiddler's Fling considering that I have seen many employees check the restraint by going on the inside of the cars (walking around the orange motors).

The Batman crew usually is awesome, as well as Bull's.

Iron Wolfs are pretty slow, but with the adjustments of seats, restraints, and the overall shortness of the ride circuit, what can you do?

I agree that RB's and B:TR's crews are the best. It could just be that these rides are easier to operate, but it seems that the crew always works in an efficient manner.

Hands down, the best crew in the park is Batman. The rush to get trains out. Iron Wolf has consistently and recently picked up capacity of the past few weeks. Stacking is only at the most 30 seconds.

Yeah, Id have to say Batman too. BTW, has any one seen that one ride op on Batman who is a little "over enthusiastic". He takes his job very seriously and he was sweating bullets, he is very fast though. But, its kind of funny to watch him. Its better than being a slow op though.

If I were an op in the Batman station I would spend my whole day singing...

Actually recently Superman's line has been taking FOREVER. I don't know what it is, but none of the switchbacks were filled at all the past 2 days, and the wait was so long.

I'd have to say RB and V2 are pretty fast. As well as Batman.

Can some one explain what "stacking" is?

It's when a train is in the station still loading, and the other train is waiting on the block brakes to enter the station. When three trains are stacking, the third train is waiting on the block brakes right behind the second train.

I was impressed with the Batman crew. Also - the Bull crew is pretty good. It's not the easiest trying to rush to run 3 trains.

The Bull Crew - Freindliest Ride Ops ever.
The Batamn Crew - Alot faster than last year. They check those belts liek crazy!
The Vu Crew - I'm giving them credit for actually trying to enforce the, "Leave your harness in the air" deal, and they watch that ride so closely, I can see them folloing the train.

Worst OP's
Ragin Cajun - They take the people with exit passes first than the peopel who have been waiting 3 hours! As Planea would say..."Kick it!"

On Deja Vu I sometimes see the ride ops pulling the restraints down (not only in the empty seats, but the filled seats too) before you're supposed to pull them down. I guess it's not that big of a deal, but I've noticed it a lot this season.

No, the ride-ops know when to do that. Thats why they put them down. They've been there long enough to see whos not paying attention. Anyways, they have a tenedency to put them down for you.

In Magic Mountain they check the orange seatbelt and the green harness at the same time, I guess the people there have figured it out by now...

It's been running 1 train since Wednesday evening. Maybe the other one has been fixed by now, though.

The best ops are Deja Vu. They send out the train in just a few minutes instead of 10 minutes in previous years. They are hard working and are nothing but efficient.
