Another Yellow Ride SFGAm 7/16

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Ilovthevu' on July 16th, 2004, 11:05 pm
The things in stars were pretty important to me, or are things I noticed today.

I arrived at 5:00 because my dad got out around 1:30 and we had to pick up my an hour, and time just went really slow until we were at GAm.

My first ride was STT (one cycle ride).

***I noticed that they have taken down the outside sign for Stargate and the shades that protect you from the sun or rain. It also looks pretty bad in back of SSA. This was seen from STT.***

BTR first had a little line where the grafitti was. I hear the famous BTR speech again twice "Go on the left side of the tunnel to ride row 2-8."

***Going on BTR so many times as you will see, I had a chance to look at the D Vu tower, and it looks like the top of the tower has a little missing piece of track. I'm not positive of this, but it sure looked like it. However, it was quite small.***

V2 was next , not too long.
***I noticed that V2 has some of it's brakes moved. The first two (facing train) were moved farther back. It also looks like some of them are newer too. I'm guessing this will help slow the train faster. Also, I did notice it stop everytime.***

BTR about 2 more times. KC is next. Not good to say the least. Balloons was getting a little long with the worker open another row but, it was only one cycle. It seemed longer and a little faster.

So, I said why not go on BTR again. Walk-on, I wish it was a run-on. People can be so slow sometimes. Now, I went on BTR about 4-5 times.

After BTR was East River Crawler.

***I actually learned how to spin the car like crazy. If you are going alone and you want to spin your car, sway to the left, sway to the right, and keep on doing this. It's GREAT. You guys have to try this!!!!!***

Next was IW, I was on it two times and it was a walk-on almost both times. I did see the newly painted box. I didn't notice that before because I don't put stuff in the bins because I don't need too.

This was the shocking news of the day. Next, was Fiddler's Fling. If this was said before, I apologize.

***I noticed that they have painted the five bars that hold the cars yellow (These are connected to the orange motors.). I have a feeling that they will painting the whole ride pretty soon***

Next, was Triple Play and I went on it two times. I noticed that the red top was out. (Not right on top, but the second part of it.) People love the yellow color. I think it is kind of too bright for the ride. The red and the green are darker colors. I missed it for so long. I'm glad it's back.

Next was Orbit. After that was Demon twice with the tunnel dark. Viper was next. Am E once.

***In the big tent I noticed that they are doing something near the tvs. I looks like they took some queues out.***
Another Triple Play and lastly SUF.

Every ride I give a 10/10 except Am E .02/10 (forced on), and KC .02/10. I'm harsh on rides I don't like.

5:00-10:10

1 SUF
3 Triple Play
1 Fiddler's Fling
2 Demon
1 Viper
1 Am E
1 KC
1 Big Easy Balloons
1 The Orbit
1 V2
1 Sky Trek Tower
7 BTR
1 East River Crawler
2 IW

Total: 24 rides

I was wondering where you were. I was like, man, Ilovthevu' hasn't posted in awhile. :P (just kidding)

(The quoting got all messed up for me, so I'll just add my coments based on your whole post.)

1. I can't believe you hear the Batman quote 2 times and tell us about the "famous speech"(remember the other topic?). It is only said when they have a problem with the front row blocking the other rows.

2. There is no track piece missing from DejaVu. There is a little space between the top of the track and the top blue support.

3. And yes, I think they are also going to be painting Fiddler's Fling for next season. Don't quote me though. (American Eagle has also gotten the rails in front of the station painted red.)

Glad you had a good time! 8)

(American Eagle has also gotten the rails in front of the station painted red.)

That's where they cut off from when they painted the station during the offseason (the rails look nice, eh?).

***I noticed that they have taken down the outside sign for Stargate and the shades that protect you from the sun or rain

They did that awhile ago, I don't remember ever seeing shades out there.

Going on BTR so many times as you will see, I had a chance to look at the D Vu tower, and it looks like the top of the tower has a little missing piece of track.

[deep breath]. No.

After that was Demon twice with the tunnel dark.

They should have that fixed by now, remind to say if it is tommorrow.

In the big tent I noticed that they are doing something near the tvs. I looks like they took some queues out

Um, most likely painting (they've been painting everthing like crazy) but i'll check on that...

Are you guys going to try the spinning thing on East River Crawler? I never knew that before. Let's start a trend. It's fun spinning.

DejaVu The Ride, I'll see in your trip report if you noticed the spiel. Nope, you were supposed to check on that.

Like I said, it doesn't happen that much. I've ridden Batman over 50 times and have yet to hear that spiel. Is it the ride operator that says it in the tunnel? If so, it depends on the ride op and if people are blocking others from entering the station.

Yes, I have done the shift the weight thing on East River Crawler. We also figured that out just this year. I've come to realize that sometimes i should just sit and enjoy the ride.

The ride operator does say that and you can hear anything the ride operator says even in the Gotham City park. I cannot believe that. How many times were you on BTR two days ago?

And for the non-lazy people, it's well worth putting in the extra effort to spin your car. It was the first time I was actually dizzy on that ride.

The ride operator doesn't say anything that much. I have just recently heard the op's saying "Please do no sit, stand, or hang on the handrails"
Maybe they do say it(and I just haven't heard them yet) or you hold the line up just to prove your point.

"And for the non-lazy people....."

Are you calling me lazy?(no smily face this time)

No, I don't hold up the line at all. I've a feeling everyone's at the park today. There's not much going on here today. I guess they want to see the yellow on Fiddler's Fling. I hope you at least spin the teacups on Chubasco.

I only ride Chubasco once a year, during FF to see how it is, and don't spin the cup.

No wonder why you only go on it once a year. It's not too fun when you don't spin the car. Are you one of those people that don't like spinny rides?

I was kidding about you holding up the line. Also, everyone also has a life away from the boards and that doesn't mean they are at the park because they weren't posting. And yes, I do spin the teacups on Chubasco. Just because I'd rather just sit still on ERC and enjoy the ride the way I always had, then I will. I loved it when I shifted the weight, but I thought it is not worth it to think too hard when I ride the rides, just have fun. :D Do you get where I'm coming from?

I was there on the 16th too and when I rode Viper the train stopped at the top of the lift hill. Now I don't have the best memory but as far as I can remember it used to be alot faster. My friend and I also got on King Chaos, I think I would have liked that more if I wasn't sunburned, but it also stopped abrubtly and they made us get off. I was disappointed to see Vu not running. Other then that it wasn't too bad for a really short trip.

I noticed that on opening day, too. I was like, "what the heck? Why didn't it slow down?"

Also, without making another topic. I read an article in the sun times about Universal's fastpass and our fastlane. It mentioned that fastlane is $12 on weekdays and $15 on weekends. Is that true? I just thought that it was $15 everyday.

I think that is true because I remember one weekday we did go, I saw a fastlane pass on the ground and it said $12 on it.

Is a fastlane really good to get over here? For the rides with fastlane, you still have to wait some time even though you paid that much for it. How much is it over here anyway? For an example, I'll look at BTR and RB. At BTR, you enter the fastpass thing right before the tunnel which is usually a 10 minute wait. On RB, it is probably the same thing. So, basically you are saving about 30-40 minutes or shorter on packed days.

If you don't visit a lot and are stuck on a packed day FastLane's $15 for 4 rides which normally but not guarenteed include. When lines are full it saves you an estimate of (front row wait is significantly longer):

Superman Ultimate Flight-
Saves about 1 hour. Total about 6 minute wait.

Roaring Rapids-
Brings to the station.

Batman The Ride-
Saves about 1 hour when ALL LINES are full (overflows etc). Total about 8 minute wait.

V2 Vertical Velocity-
Saves about 1 hour when all lines are full, brings you up to the station. Total about 6 minute wait.

Loggers Run-
Right to the station.

Iron Wolf-
Saves about 1 hour when lines are full, brings right to the station. Total about 2 minute wait.

Whizzer-
Saves about 40 minutes when line is full, brings right to the station. Total about 8 minute wait.

Raging Bull-
Saves about 1 hour when lines are full. Total about 8 minute wait.

Giant Drop-
Saves god knows how long when lines are full. If theres no line for FastLane you get right on.

I noticed that on opening day, too. I was like, "what the heck? Why didn't it slow down?"

I'd guess they do that the first half hour to warm up the ride...but i'm not sure.

The wait time for V2 has to be longer than that. Whenever I go on it, there is at least three groups in front of me (excluding non-packed times).
