How could they build a less compact ride where Iron Wolf is now? (Unless it was a shuttle coaster, or LIM Spaghetti Bowl  ). The area where Iron Wolf is is landlocked on all sides. Granted, they could extend a new ride out into the employee parking lot, but otherwise the area has Spacely on one side, midway on the other, and Scenic RR and maintenence buildings on the far side.

I for one do not think Iron Wolf will come down within two years. When I was there on June 19th, the line was totally full, using all switchbacks.
Finally Coaster Season!!

If what your saying did happen, why is Demon still here? It had the same type of trains. Demon should've been gone after the train got stuck in the loop then. It was not a cover up. If people did not care about the Whizzer, this ride would not packed anymore. I would except to walk-on the ride everytime I go.

I guess you guys don't believe that a rollercoaster like the Whizzer could give lasting memories to people especially kids. If you had an out-pouring of letters saying I love this ride, wouldn't you keep it. Shockwave in it's last year was a walk-on, period. This is why it's gone. It's how many years old, and yet people still love it like it's a new ride.

Demon trains have a significant difference from most arrow trains....shocks. Demon is soo smooth compared to allmost all arrows...excluding the late 90's models.

Well, anyway Demon had both a crash (believe me of this, if not go to ride accidents topic somewhere) and the loop accident, so if we are talking about rollercoaster accidents, it should be gone.

When IW is on the chopping block (I don't know when), the GP would not write letters to save it because of the corkscrew that bangs people's bodies around. I don't even think that they would put up another sign like they did for the Whizzer. The Whizzer was different. It is more of a kid's coaster, and thus they are the ones that saved it with their sobbing stories. If it would be the Demon, they would write in probably to save that. However, it would not be as much as the Whizzer.

In case your wondering, the normal day for a kid is come in, eat a funnel cake, ride Whizzer, puke, and leave.
Also Whizzer is a very popular ride, and from early morning to late afternoon almost always has a line.
As far as Iron Wolf I don't think it's going I think it's going to be painted next year (they always leave hints like painting the boxes the year before ).

Is Iron Wolf the only stand up coaster with the drive tires or do all standing coasters have them. Has anyone ever seen Iron Wolf running with one train. That just shows that it doesnt cost alot of money.

Also does anybody think that they will fix up iron wolf to make it so it can run in the rain, and/or make the ride longer.

I think after IW was built B&M changed over to those other mini-tires (I'm sorry, I have no idea what they are called. BTR, RB, SUF have them) I did go on Georgia Scorcher (B&M stand-up) at SFOG and I don't remember the big tires. That ride was less rough and the corkscrew is the other way, but IW is great being a rough ride. I've been on IW in the rain before.

I'm no expert, but there seems to be three very common reasons why rides get removed: 1) safety concerns/accidents 2) High maintenance costs 3) low ridership. To my knowledge, IW does not fit into any of those categories. Sure, it's not my favorite ride, and, personally, I would not be heartbroken to see it go. However, I disagree with the notion that it is doomed just because we haven't seen any major changes to it. My guess is that it will be repainted next year, along with something else. It seems that Tim Black and his staff are very interested in keeping the park looking nice, so I expect one or two coasters to get painted this off-season, just as Demon and B:TR did this time around. Lastly, as for the public outcry talk. It is abundantly clear that Shockwave had many maintenance issues and safetey concerns before its demise, many of which the GP did not know about. That was why it was removed. The public outcry talk just allowed GAm to look good at the same time. It was convenient PR, not a reaction to what was going on.
I'm gonna twist ya, and I'm gonna flip ya. Every time you squeal, I'm just gonna go faster and harder.

Don't you guys know that they will never take down a "Hollywood ride."

Oops, Sky Whirls gone, never mind.

Don't base a ride leaving on it's looks, if that was the case prior to this year Batman was sure to go. Batman was not only running on rusty rails, paint was peeling off all over the ride. So what happened they painted it and now it looks brand new. Three things to remember: 1) More coasters are on the painting list for the off season. 2) Larry Wine laughed at the rumors of Iron Wolf coming down. I'll place my money on him any day. 3) Taking out Shockwave for SuperMan was a lesson learned for the park. Yes, the general public loves SuperMan but, the park knows they lost a coaster that kicked your butt.
The land for the next coaster already has been picked and when it's built no plans call for the removal of any present Coaster, That's the KEY Coaster.

Well put Ron/Wolf, finally someone here agrees with me that all Iron Wolf needs is a paint job, and I agree with Superman, I don't really like that ride, it is good, but not worth a ten minute wait.

That is an intelligent, well thaught out contribution.
Of course we all love sitting at our computers reading posts that are just "hehe" or the classic "hehehehehe" with a few      mixed in there.

Anyway, I think it's been established that the next coaster will be built with no rides being removed.
