I don't normally do Trip Reports but today was Joyfest:
...and I knew the park was going to be crowded, so I planned on arriving at 12:45, seeing the 1:00 Relient K concert, and leaving right after. I got there and found out that Relient K started at 2:30, so I had an hour and a half to do something in the typical weekend lines that I hate to wait in.
I rode American Eagle Blue (the wait was to the split), stopped at Wascal's, and then rode the River Rocker. The concert was at the ampitheater. It was pretty good (about an hour) and had a lot of their songs from their new album. I left right afterwards since I saw no point in staying for weekend lines.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
I also stopped to watch them as I never heard of them and like live music, and I found them to be very good. Now The Fold that played before them kinda stunk. You couldn't really understand them. I stayed for about 40 mins of Reliant K's show and headed out. The kids started to get bored.
Waiting to fill this space with something stupid to say!
Was the concert packed? If it was, maybe they will have this again next year, but have a band I've heard of.

Third Day, Point of Grace, 4Hymn, Avalon, Micheal W. Smith, Zoe Girl, Matthew West, Plus One, Mark Schultz, Jaci Valesquez, Mercy Me, Rebecca St. James, Go Fish, Jump 5, Amy Grant, Tree 63, Newsboys, Sarah Mason, Selah, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jars of Clay, Audio Adrenaline, Out of Eden, Stacie Orrico, Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, Warren Barfield, Chris Rice, and Rachel Lampa. There are a couple more, but I can't remember their names. If someone said them, I would know.

Wow, You must be a devoted Christian, as Ive never heard of maybe one of those, but thats cool.
I Don't know the difference between Joyfest and Gospel Fesy, just as I don't know the difference between the two mexican festivals.
They used to be more Christian. Believe it or not, they grew up 5 mins from my house. I live really close to Canton and one of their hit songs they sing "But they always say in Canton you can't-en-joy yourself". I like that little play on my town! They play at an ALIVE festival which features many Christian bands but they don't sing about Christian material like they used to. I like them a lot though - glad you liked my local Ohio band! "Two lefts don't make a right - but 3 do!"
Surprisingly the park really wasn't as crowded as we expected it to be. Got lots of rides in all day and the people where well behaved for a Saturday.
As a side note Michael W. Smith who started and still plays concerts with Amy Grant, both have crossed over to pop music. If want the most moving Christmas Music Amy and Michael are the People to buy.
Gospelfest differs from Joyfest because the artists during Gospelfest mainly perform well known Gospel Music. This music can be heard in almost all Baptist and Evangelical Churches. Joyfest features artists who write and sing their own songs of worship. I myself am very glad My Catholic Church has finally embrassed the music of Top Christian Performers.
No, I like more of the "popish" Christian music. The station I listen to is 106.7 FM if anyone wants to here it. You can kill for saying this, but I like Radio Disney also. I was just wondering what type of Christian music Reliant K was.
