I would say more like a brother of the two. This coaster actually goes upside down (unlike raging bull). I know that doesn't mean anything (in terms of coaster enjoyment), but I wouldn't think a "son" would have a loop.
I was looking at a lot of the pictures when the ride was actually being built. It looks like a standard design to me. No Raging Bull involved just Medusa.

I believe there are a total of 8 Batman the Rides (B&M versions). But there are two in Japan, Diavlo and Gambit, and there's also The Great White at at Sea World in San Antonio, which brings the total to 11 copies of the Batman the ride design.
