I usually browse the SFGAm forum, but i decided to post this here. It a lot of posts, people keep bad mouthing screamscape. I just want to know, what is so bad about it? I like screamscape, personally. I just want to know what's the bad?
I think the moral here is you could go tell them that you heard that Intimin decided to make an inverted rocket coaster that goes 800 feet and 300 mph with 14 inversions expanding the length of an entire park and they would post it.
Kind of like a B&M flying coaster that goes 300 feet with inversions at 100 mph.

I don't think Screamscape is bad. In fact I think what they do is kind of cool. Boards like this are for talking about serious things that we know are true. Whereas Screamscape IS a site for rumors. It's a place where if you do just want to talk about things you've "heard", you can. Does it really matter if they post false rumors? I think it's kind of fun to read actually. It's the people that actually go there and treat it like it's all completely true and then spread the rumors, I mean come on. Just don't spread them to boards like this.
Don't bash it, they're not just "trying to get visitors". There's no prize for the site that gets the most people.
I think a major driving force in building a website is to get a lot of visitors to your site. There may be no prize, but there is advertising and bragging rights.
Honestly, which sites do Screamscape take visitors from? It's a unique rumor site...there's no competition, unless there's another rumor site I'm unaware of. It certainly doesn't take visitors from this site, as we're not allowed to talk about rumors (which I'm glad for).
I like Screamscape for the news part. They have told when RC, KC, and all of this years new rides have opened. As for the rumors, the only one they have gotten correct so far is S:UF. The reported a Ferris Wheel in place of Power Dive, and are now talking about this silly thing called "Project Tumbleweed". So the news is reliable, the rumors are not.

I look forward to reading the site every other day. I like to read the news and especially the rumors. The rumors are usually funny. That post about SW was pretty dumb and Ive been planning on emailing him about it for a few hours.
If you really want a good idea of the quality reporting at Screamscape -- someone reported seeing stakes in the ground behind Big Kahuna at SFSTL - according to Screamscape this means their getting a proslide tornado. How the heck do wooden lathes stuck in the ground automaticallly mean new waterslides.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.
He was just assuming that since Six Flags added 3 of them to waterparks this year, that SfStl would be adding one since stakes are in the ground behind the waterpark.
It's time for the Screamscape stupid update of the week!
Screamscape wrote:2005/2006 - Rumor - (7/26/04) Our latest spy transmission indicates that the next major new coaster (Tumbleweed or anything else) will not arrive at the park until 2006 now. However, so far 2005 sounds like it may be a year where things get fixed up around the park, including new paint jobs for several attractions.
