6/19/04-- Packed!

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Mr. SFGAm on June 20th, 2004, 1:25 pm
Boy was it busy today!
We got into the park at about 9:30, and went over to the chains by Mardi Gras. There were only four or five other people there when we got there.

At 10, we ran to Ragin' Cajun to find it closed. Then to Batman, to find that ride closed also. So the first ride of the day ended up being....

Vertical Velocity
No wait, and the first train of the day. What an awesome way to start the day. By the time we finished, the line was already back to the entrance. Next up was....

Iron Wolf
Front row, one train wait. This ride is awesome in the front row, and is definately a lot smoother. This ride was great today! Now on to.....

American Eagle
First off was a one train wait for the front row on red. This was running pretty good today. Then we ran around and did blue right away. By the way, they were racing both trains for most of the day. After that.....

Demon
Two train wait for the red train. I don't know what it is, but everytime I ride the red train, I get beat up :x Later on they were running all three trains. Up next.....

Raging Bull
20 min wait with all three trains running. This ride was great as always, that first drop rules!! After Bull, we went to....

Viper
I really liked the new awnings over the line. It helped out a lot on a day like yesterday when it was totally sunny. This ride was awesome! I ended up buying an on ride photo! After Viper we went out to the parking lot to eat. Once back inside the crowds were getting bad. So we went to....

Ice Mountain Splash
After a 15 min wait we got on. I thought it was a lot of fun, since I haven't ridden this in years. Both Loggers and IMS were running. Next up....

Batman: The Ride:
After a 60 min wait(including a 10 min breakdown) we were on. This ride is hauling som major @$$ this year! I couldn't believe how fast it was running! After this, we went on some other rides, then on to the....

Whizzer
Back row with a 40 min wait. This ride was running fast today too! I kept getting thrown all over the place. It was awesome!

We never got on Ragin Cajun, or Superman because it had a 2hr+ wait with one train op. Deja Vu was closed all day, as was King Chaos and Triple Play. It was a fun day, but a little too busy for me! Mardi Gras looks awesome, and the park was looking great!
Totals:

Batman: 1
Whizzer: 1
Raging Bull: 1
Viper: 1
V2: 1
Iron Wolf: 1
American Eagle: 2
Demon: 2(the second time with a 35 min wait!)

I went to the park on fathers day and it was jammed packed!!!
By noon it seemed that every ride had a wait that was outside the que except for Sky Tower/Stargate.

Maybe i have been lucky in the past or have went to the park on Sundays later in the year, but i thought the park was extremely crowded for a Sunday. Half of the parking lot on the other side of the toll booth was filled. But the weather was great which has been rare this season so far so we shouldnt be surpirsed the people came to the park.
If i wasnt a season passholder i would have been disappointed on how little i actually did but as it was we just enjoyed the great weather and did more people watching/shopping than we would normally do.

Which day was more packed, 19th or 20th? I think by your report you mean 20th was, just wondering.

Yeah, flat rides listed!! I guess you had no choice (rc's too packed).

They were using the overflow lot on the 19th also.

By noon it seemed that every ride had a wait that was outside the que except for Sky Tower/Stargate.

That is what it was like on Saturday, we had at least a two/three cycle wait for every flat except TrailBlazer and Jester's Wild Ride. My cousin wanted to ride Great American Raceway and East River Crawler but both had totally full queues.

Oh yeah I forgot. We waited 25mins for Rue Le Dodge, partially because someone puked on it :x .
Finally Coaster Season!!
